2. Now it’s time for each player to pick a character token. This token represents their favorite animal for the race. Put these tokens on the start space of the racetrack. Each player should also take an animal token of the same type as their favorite and place it in front of them with the animal side facing up. This will help you remember which animal is yours.

3. The other tokens should be placed with the crown side facing up in the box. Keep them there for now.

4. Take all 30 cards and shuffle them. Then, give four cards to each player. Make sure everyone places their cards face up in front of them.
