Welcome to Queendomino!
Are you ready to embark on a majestic kingdom-building adventure? Look no further because Queendomino is here to satisfy your royal desires. In this game, you and your opponents will compete to construct the grandest kingdom of them all.
But how do you play Queendomino? The rules may seem complex at first, but fear not! I’m here to guide you through them, step by step.
Setting Up
Before we dive into the gameplay, let’s make sure we have everything ready. First, place the central castle tile in the middle of the table. Then, shuffle the territory tiles and arrange them face-down in six stacks beside the castle, within easy reach of all players.
Next, each player chooses a colored king token and takes the eight building tiles of the corresponding color. These tiles will be used to construct your kingdom. Each player also receives a starting gold coin and places it in front of them.
Arrange the coins, knights, towers, and dragons in separate piles near the playing area. These components will come into play as the game progresses.
Gameplay
Queendomino is played over several rounds, and each round consists of three phases: Income, Construction, and Clean-up.
Income
During the Income phase, players receive gold coins equal to the number of crowns indicated on their visible buildings. The more crowns you have, the more riches you’ll acquire.
Construction
In the Construction phase, players take turns performing two actions: collecting a territory tile and expanding their kingdom. At the beginning of the game, each player starts with an empty land plot, but as the game progresses, you’ll need to expand and enhance your kingdom to gain victory points.
To collect a territory tile, simply take the top tile from one of the face-down stacks beside the castle. However, you must pay the displayed cost in gold coins to do so. Be strategic with your choices, as each territory tile comes with its own unique benefits and drawbacks.
Once you’ve collected a territory tile, it’s time to add it to your kingdom. Each building tile has different requirements, such as the terrain type it can be placed on or the adjacency to other buildings. Follow these placement rules carefully. Each building you construct will generate income, provide victory points, or grant special abilities.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to manage your resources wisely. If you’re low on gold, you can opt to pass during this phase and collect extra gold coins instead.
Clean-up
In the Clean-up phase, players return all remaining territory tiles to their respective stacks, face-down. Then, a new round begins, starting with the Income phase.
Scoring and End of the Game
The game continues until one or more of the territory tile stacks are depleted. At that point, the final round begins, and players tally up their victory points.
Victory points are earned through the buildings you’ve constructed, the wealth you’ve accumulated, and any bonuses or achievements you’ve obtained during the game. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game will be crowned the ruler of Queendomino!
Now It’s Your Turn
Now that you understand how to play Queendomino, it’s time for you to gather your friends and start building your majestic kingdoms. May the best ruler win!

Hey there, it’s me, a noble ruler in search of new territories to expand my majestic kingdom. I want to explore uncharted lands, conquer different terrains, and create the best territories for my loyal subjects. I’ll be scouring lands that are teeming with wheat fields, forests, grasslands, lakes, swamps, mines, and towns, enriching my kingdom as I go.
To fund the construction of my towns, I need to tax the lands wisely. I’ll carefully select the buildings I want to build and make sure to win the favor of the Queen. But there’s a catch – I must also be wary of the Dragon’s flame, which could ruin all my plans. It’s essential for me to strategize and acquire resources carefully, as other rulers are vying for the same lands and the Queen’s affection!

Now that you have your materials ready, let’s dive into the object of the game:
Rule the Kingdom!
As you step into the shoes of a ruler, your aim is to build the most impressive kingdom with the highest number of points. The size of your kingdom depends on the number of players – a 5×5 for 3-4 players, and a larger 7×7 for 2 players.
Earning points is the key to success, and you’ll strategize by carefully selecting dominoes for your kingdom. Each domino has two terrain squares, and by matching and connecting them, you’ll create territories. A territory consists of connected terrain squares, either horizontally or vertically.
So, it’s time to let your creativity and cunning flourish as you build your kingdom and conquer the game of Kingdomino!
Hey there! Let’s talk about how you can score points in the game of Territories. It’s pretty simple, really. But first, let me explain some key things.
In this game, territories can only earn points if they have at least one crown. So make sure you have at least one crown in your territory to start earning those valuable points.
Now, here’s where things get interesting. You can also earn points by buying buildings for your towns. These buildings are placed on open construction squares, which are marked by a red terrain. Placing buildings in your kingdom not only helps you earn immediate bonuses but also gives you advantages during future turns and even at the end of the game. Pretty cool, right?
So, the more connecting terrain squares, crowns, and building bonuses your territory has, the more points you’ll receive in the end. It pays off to have a well-developed kingdom!
Setup
Step 1

To start, position the box as shown.
Next, shuffle the dominoes and then place them in the box. Make sure the gap in the line-up of dominoes is facing away from you (meaning neither the number nor the terrain sides are visible to anyone). This will be the draw pile for the game. Remember, we’ll use all the dominoes regardless of the number of players.
After that, place the Builders’ Board in the center of the table, so it is accessible to everyone.
Now, shuffle the 32 Building Tiles and place them, grey face up, on the red square of the Builders’ Board. This is the draw pile for Building Tiles.

Alright, let’s get started! Here’s a simpler version of the given text:
Hey there! Let’s start by placing the top 6 Building Tiles face up on the empty spots of the Builders’ Board. Remember, the number below each tile shows its construction cost.
Now, let’s put the Queen on the side of the board and the Dragon next to the pile of Building Tiles.
Next up, place the Towers, Coins, and Knights on the side of the Builders’ Board. The Coins form the bank, so we’ll use those later.
Each player gets a Starting Tile and a Castle. Place your Starting Tile, with the Castle right on it, in front of you.
Now it’s time for each player to take their pieces. Here’s what you need:
- If you’re playing a 2-player game, grab two Kings of your color.
- If you’re playing with 3 or 4 players, you only need one King of your color.
Also, draw one Knight and collect enough Coins to add up to a value of 7. Put them in front of you.
Step 2
To get started, let’s organize the first four dominoes from the box. Place them in a line with the numbers facing down. Make sure they are easy to see and reach for all players. The domino with the lowest number goes on top, while the one with the highest number goes at the bottom. Once they’re in position, flip them over so you can see the terrain side.
Now, let’s determine the order in which players will choose their first domino. One player will take all four Kings from the deck and reveal them one by one. The player who reveals the first King gets to choose their domino first. The same goes for the other players in the order of their King revealing. They can place their King on an available domino to claim it.
Imagine a game where two players compete against each other. One player starts by picking a random domino. Let’s say it’s my turn, so I decide to place my King on that particular domino. Now it’s your turn to make a move. You get to place two Kings on two different dominoes. Finally, it’s my turn again, and I place my second King on the only remaining domino.
So, here’s how it goes: first, I draw the white King, and I get to pick the fourth domino. Then, the orange King is drawn, and its player selects the first domino. Next up is the purple King, drawn third, and it’s placed on the third domino. Now, we’ve got only one domino left, and the player with the red King (that’s me) is left with no choice but to select that domino.
Once all four dominos have been claimed, it’s time to select four new ones from the draw pile. We line them up in numerical order, with the terrain side facing down, right next to the ones we’ve already chosen. And then, we flip them over. Oh, but wait! In a game with three players, we discard the last unselected domino in each round.
Now, Let’s Get Playing!
So, here’s the deal. When we play this game, the order in which we take turns is determined by where the Kings are in the line of dominoes we’ve already chosen. The player whose King is on the first domino in the line gets to go first. Then, the player whose King is on the second domino goes second, and so on.
Now, I want to make it clear that there are only two things you absolutely have to do: A and E. Everything else is optional, my friend.
- First things first, you gotta add the domino you chose to your kingdom. But be careful! You have to follow the connection rules.
- After that, you can have 1 or 2 Knights collect tax on the domino you just placed. You know, keep things fair and square.
- If you’re up for it, you can construct a building on one of those open red squares. Show off your construction skills!
- If you’re feeling mischievous, you can bribe the Dragon. That little guy will burn a Building Tile on the Builders’ Board and shake things up a bit.
- And finally, you get to pick a new domino from the next line using your King Meeple. Keep that kingdom growing!
When the game begins, the first player takes some actions. After they’re done, it’s the turn of the player whose King is on the second domino. This keeps going until the player whose King is on the last domino plays their turn. Then, a new round begins (see Starting a New Round).
In a game with 2 players, each player will take actions A to E twice. They do this once for each of their Kings.
Add your chosen domino to your kingdom based on how it connects to other dominoes:
Your kingdom can’t be larger than a 5×5 square if there are 3 to 4 players, or a 7×7 square if there are 2 players.
When you connect a domino to another domino, horizontally or vertically, at least 2 squares must have the same terrain type (one on each domino).
The Starting Tile’s 4 sides are flexible; you can connect any terrain to them. Once a domino is in place, it stays there.
Important: It’s crucial to remember that if you choose a domino that doesn’t fit into your kingdom or match any available terrain type, it must be discarded. This means you won’t earn any points for discarded dominoes. So, be careful when making your selection.
You can’t discard dominoes if they can be placed in your kingdom according to the rules mentioned above. It’s all about anticipating the best moves if you want your kingdom to be complete by the end of the game.
B. Have 1 or 2 Knights collect tax on the domino you just placed
If you have Knights available (including the one you start with and any earned through Building Bonuses), you have the option to collect tax as soon as you connect a domino to your kingdom. It’s a great way to gather additional resources.
When you add a domino to your kingdom, place a Knight on it. You’ll earn Coins based on how many squares the Knight is connected to in the territory. The Knight will stay there until the game ends.
You can add up to 2 Knights during your turn, one for each square on the domino you just added. You can also place a Knight on a territory where other Knights have already been placed in previous rounds.
C. Build a structure on an open red construction square
In order to construct a building in your town, you need to have at least one available red construction square. This square doesn’t have to be on the domino you just added – it can be from a previous round.
To construct a building, follow these steps:
- First, pick a Building Tile from the Builders’ Board that hasn’t been taken yet.
- Next, give the bank 1 Coin as payment.
- Now comes the fun part! Destroy the building by taking it off the board, and in its place, put the Dragon. You can throw the tile away in the game box, as you won’t need it anymore.
When you want to build a new building in the game, follow these steps:
1. First, choose an available building tile from the Builders’ Board. You can’t take a tile from the draw pile.
2. Next, pay the bank the construction price listed for the building you’ve chosen.
3. Now, add the building to your kingdom on the construction square of your choice. Make sure to place it with the red side facing up.
4. After placing the building, you can collect any immediate building bonuses that come with it. Remember to keep track of any active building bonuses for future rounds.
Once a building is constructed, it creates an empty spot on the Builders’ Board for the rest of the round. Remember, each construction square can only have one building tile on it. You can’t stack buildings on top of each other.
Now, let’s talk about building bonuses. These are special benefits you can get when constructing certain buildings.
In the upper left corner of the game board, you’ll find the building bonuses section. Take a look at these bonuses to see how they can help you in the game.

What happens right away
When you look at certain Building Tiles, there’s a symbol in the top left corner that tells you what will happen right away when you build that building in your kingdom:

I want to talk to you about something important – the Knights. You see, the Knights are a key element in the game, just like the tax you can collect when it’s your turn. It’s fascinating how these two things are connected. Let me explain.

When you place a tile in your kingdom, make sure to add the number of Towers indicated on the tile. If your kingdom has the most Towers, even if you’re tied with another player, you’ll become the host of the Queen. Grab the Queen Meeple from wherever she is and place her in front of yourself.
About the Queen: Having the Queen in your kingdom will reduce your construction costs by 1 Coin.
If you’re the one who ends up hosting the Queen in your kingdom at the end of the game, you’ll need to place her on your largest territory. This means the territory with the most connecting terrain squares. The Queen will count as an extra crown for you.
What Happens in the Lower Left Corner During the Game?

In the bottom left corner of certain Building Tiles, you’ll find a special bonus symbol. This symbol affects every turn throughout the game, once the building is built. You can see this information on both sides of the tile.

Every time I gather taxes, I automatically acquire extra coins based on the number of knights I have, whether they are in my kingdom or not.
Every time I gather taxes, I immediately earn more coins based on the number of towers in my kingdom.
Top Right Corner

Crowns:
See those little symbols in the upper right corner of some of the Building Tiles? Those are crowns. They’re like special bonuses that can boost the value of your town territories at the end of the game. Even if you didn’t build anything on those territories, they still count! The more connecting squares you have, and the more crowns in that territory, the more points you’ll score.
Lower Right Corner: The Power of Crowns
When you look at some of the Building Tiles in Queendomino, you’ll notice a symbol on both sides, located in the lower right corner. This symbol tells you how many points that particular building will give your kingdom when the game is over. Just take a look at the image below:

The number of points indicated is what you’ll earn for your kingdom.
There’s another way to earn points in the game called the Detached Territory Bonus. This bonus gives you 2 points for each individual territory in your kingdom, regardless of the size or number of crowns in those territories. The color of the cross on the image below shows which terrain type the bonus applies to:

In addition to the Detached Territory Bonus, you can also earn points from the Tower Bonus. For every Tower in your kingdom at the end of the game, you’ll get 1 point.
Lastly, there’s the Knight Bonus. For each Knight you have in your kingdom, whether they have been used or not, you’ll score 1 point. So make sure you strategize and place your buildings, towers, and knights wisely to maximize your point total!
Step 4. Persuade the Dragon to Destroy a Building in the Builders’ Board
If you want to destroy a building tile on the builders’ board, here’s a sneaky way to do it: bribe the dragon. However, before you get too excited, there are a couple of conditions you need to meet for this plan to work.
Firstly, you can only attempt this action when the dragon is still hiding in its cave. So, if the dragon is flying around causing chaos, you’ll have to wait for it to return home.
Secondly, you must make sure that you are not the one hosting the queen. If you are, then sorry, but you’re out of luck. Find someone else to bribe the dragon for you.
Assuming you’ve met these requirements, it’s time to put your plan into action. Approach the dragon with a peace offering. Maybe it’s a sack of gold or a tasty animal treat; the choice is yours. Just make sure it’s something the dragon finds irresistible.
Present your bribe to the dragon and make your case. Explain that if it destroys a certain building tile on the builders’ board, it will significantly benefit the kingdom. Emphasize how this action will help your people and make their lives better.
If you’ve chosen the right bribe and presented a compelling argument, there’s a good chance the dragon will agree to your request. It might take some negotiation and sweet-talking, but stay persistent. Convince the dragon that this is the best course of action.
Once you’ve successfully persuaded the dragon, it’s time to rejoice! Sit back and watch as the dragon unleashes its fiery breath, obliterating the building tile you targeted. This will create space for new construction and potentially open up new opportunities for your kingdom.
Remember, this plan is not without risks. Dragons are unpredictable creatures, and there’s always a chance things could go wrong. But if you play your cards right and offer the right incentive, you just might succeed in persuading the dragon to do your bidding.

Hey there! I wanted to tell you something interesting about how to play this game! Only one player per round can use the Dragon. It’s a powerful move, so you’ll have to plan wisely when to use it.
Now, here’s what you do next:
After you add a domino to your kingdom and do any other actions you want, it’s time to choose a new domino. Look at the next line, and pick any domino you want. Put your King Meeples on top of that domino to claim it as yours. Remember, the higher-numbered dominoes have more value and earn you more points. But there’s a catch – if you choose a higher-numbered domino this round, you’ll have fewer options in the next round. It’s all part of the strategy, so think carefully!
Are you ready for a new round?
Once everyone has taken their turn from A to E, it’s time to start a new round. Here’s what you do:
Send the Dragon back to its cave. It’s had its fun for this round, and now it’s time to rest.

When you play the game, you need to move the Building Tiles on the Builders’ Board to the cheapest spots. Once you do that, you can then fill the empty spots by drawing Building Tiles from the pile.

Let’s add more dominoes to the line next to the ones we already have. Just choose 4 new dominoes from the draw pile and line them up in numeric order, with the terrain side facing down.
Now, it’s time to flip them over. Don’t forget, in a game with 3 players, we discard the last domino that wasn’t chosen in each round.
And just like that, we can start a new round!

A game consists of 12 rounds and all the dominoes are used, no matter how many players there are.
When the last 4 dominoes are lined up, it’s the final turn for all players. At this point, you can only perform actions A through D because there are no more dominoes to choose from.
By the end of the game, each player should have a 5×5 grid (for 3 to 4 players) or a 7×7 grid (for 2 players) in front of them. Keep in mind that some kingdoms may not be complete if a player had to discard a domino.
If you are the player hosting the Queen, put her on your largest territory, including red towns. The Queen will count as a crown.
Now it’s time to calculate your kingdom’s final score. Record your points in the corresponding boxes on the Scoring Pad:
– Wealth: You get 1 point for every 3 unused Coins.
In the game, there are different territories with crowns. These territories include wheat fields, forests, lakes, grasslands, swamps, mines, and towns. A kingdom is made up of these territories, and a territory consists of terrain squares that are connected horizontally or vertically (not diagonally).
To score points, you need to count the number of connecting terrain squares in each territory and multiply that number by the total number of crowns in the territory. Territories without crowns do not give you any points.
It’s possible to have multiple territories with the same terrain type in your kingdom. Each of these territories is scored separately.
In the red town territories, the buildings have a certain value. To calculate the Building Bonuses correctly, remove the Building Tiles from their squares one by one and add up the points from the lower right corner symbols.
Remember, to score well in the game, keep these rules in mind. Have fun!
So, once you’ve recorded all the boxes for each player on the Scoring Pad, it’s time to add up those final scores. And here’s the kicker – whoever has the highest score at the end wins the game!
Okay, but what if there’s a tie? Well, in that case, things get even more interesting. The player who has the largest territory, which basically means the biggest group of matching terrain squares that are all connected, is the winner. It’s all about staking your claim and expanding your empire.
But hey, let’s say there’s still a tie after considering territory size. No worries, my friend. In that awesome situation, the players actually share the victory. It’s like a double celebration!
