You get to be the mastermind behind it all, creating the ultimate sci-fi movie masterpiece! The key to crafting the perfect flick lies in strategically combining the Defense Strength of the characters, locations, and plots. Get ready to unleash your inner Spielberg!
THE SET-UP
Alright, let’s dive right into the action. To kick things off, the gang chooses one person to be the dealer. This lucky dealer shuffles up the deck and deals six amazing cards to each and every player. Now, here’s where the excitement begins. Everyone quickly scans their cards, searching for that crucial character. But uh-oh, if you happen to be the only unlucky soul without a character card, fear not! You get a second chance. Just toss out your hand and grab six fresh cards. Phew, crisis averted. Now, let’s bring on the movie magic!
So, here’s the deal. Once we’re all set up and ready to go, it’s time to reveal our characters. We place them right in front of us, face up, for everyone to see. And that’s when the real fun begins.
THE GAMEPLAY
Now, pay attention, because this is where things get interesting. When you play a card, you gotta read out the quote on it. That’s a must, otherwise, it doesn’t count. So speak up, people! Don’t be shy.
Before playing cards, you can refresh your hand and get up to six cards. But remember, there are a few rules to keep in mind. First, in the first round, you can’t mess with your opponent’s movies. Gotta keep it fair, you know? Second, don’t even think about ending the game until we’ve played the first two rounds. And finally, when it comes to props, you can only play as many as you have characters. So make sure each character gets their moment to shine.
Did you know that in the game, players can swap props between characters? But here’s the catch – that prop counts as one of the props already used. You can also change your own location or your opponent’s, which weakens their Defense Strength.
Now, each Creature card has its own attack strength. And get this – you can use them to attack other players’ movies! If the Defense Strength of the movie you’re attacking is lower than the attack strength of your creature, you get to choose a character to say goodbye to. That card gets sent straight to the discard pile.
When it’s my turn, I can play cards for my own characters and attack someone else’s. I can also play special effects cards whenever I want, even during someone else’s turn. Once I’m done, I’ll announce it, and the person on my left can take their turn.
The game ends when there are no more cards in the draw pile or when someone plays the “Roll the Credits” card. We’ll then tally up the points.
GAME OVER
The game is over when someone plays the “Roll the Credits” card. We’ll score all the movies based on their Defense Strength. The movie with the highest Defense Strength wins!
