GOAT LORDS
Are you ready to battle it out with your friends, deal with hurt feelings, and play with a competitive spirit to become the Almighty Goat Lord? If you are, then this game is just for you! The objective of the game is to accumulate one thousand points before anyone else. You achieve this by expanding your herd!
Go on the offensive and launch attacks against your opponents to challenge them for their goat pile and expand your own. But be careful! You must know when to be strategic and when to attack, because you too are a potential target for other players. Strive to build the biggest herd possible without losing too many goats in the process.
GAME SETUP
Getting ready to play this game is fast and simple. Easy peasy! All you have to do is remove all the cards from the deck and give them a good shuffle. Deal four cards to each player, making sure to keep them hidden from the other players. The rest of the cards can be placed face down in the middle of the play area, forming the Draw Pile.
The first thing you should do at the start of the game is reveal the top card and place it next to the Draw Pile, which will create the Discard Pile. Now, let’s get into the gameplay. It all begins with the player on the dealer’s left, and then we’ll keep going in a clockwise direction.
How to Play
When it’s your turn, you have five options to choose from. You can start by Birthing your goats, which means placing two identical cards in front of you. These first two cards are safe and can’t be taken from you. Another option is to perform an Assisted Birth. If the top card on the discard pile matches a card you need, you can use it to create a pair.
Hey there! So, here’s the deal: when you’re feeling up for it, you can challenge other players to a Duel! How, you ask? Well, it’s simple. All you have to do is show a goat card from your hand that matches the one on top of your opponent’s goat pile. This will start off the Duel, and things are about to get interesting!
Now, here’s the thing: your opponent has a chance to defend their goats! They can do this by playing the same goat card again or using a wild card. It’s like a game of strategy, where they have to think on their feet!
The Duel keeps going until one of the players runs out of matching cards to play. If you’re the attacker and you win, congratulations! You get to collect all the cards that were played during the Duel, as well as the top cards on your opponent’s goat pile. You’ll be on fire!
But hold on, if you’re the defender and you win, then you get to scoop up all the cards that were played during the Duel. It’s a pretty sweet deal too!
So, next time you’re in the mood for some excitement, challenge another player to a Duel and show them what you’ve got! It’s all about strategy and quick thinking.
If you can’t do any of the things I mentioned earlier, you can discard a card and draw a new one. At the end of your turn, you’ll refill your hand with cards from the Draw Pile so you always have the same number of cards. We keep playing until someone gets a thousand points or we decide to stop. The person with the most points at that point wins!
The Game Ends
Once we run out of cards in the Draw Pile, we keep playing until everyone’s hands are empty. If there are more than five goat cards in the Discard Pile, we shuffle it and use it as the new Draw Pile.
The person who reaches a thousand points first is the winner. If we’re only playing one round, then the person with the most points wins.
