Discover the Rules of the True Colors Game
Hey there! Have you heard of the True Colors Game? It’s a super fun activity that lets you learn more about yourself and others. Let me tell you all about it!
So, here’s how it works. In the True Colors Game, we use different colors to represent different personality traits. It’s like a colorful map of who we are! Each color carries its own meaning, just like in a rainbow.
When you play the True Colors Game, you’ll find out which color represents your dominant personality trait. Are you passionate and outgoing like red? Or maybe you’re a calm and logical blue? There’s no right or wrong answer, just your unique shade.
Now, let’s dive into the colors. You have your warm colors like red and yellow, which represent extroverted traits. These colors show a lively and energetic side, full of enthusiasm and joy.
On the other side of the spectrum, you have your cool colors like blue and green. These colors represent introverted traits. They reflect a calm and thoughtful nature, emphasizing reflection and understanding.
But wait, there’s more! Within each color, we have different shades that represent various sub-personalities. This means that even if you and a friend have the same dominant color, you might express yourselves in different ways.
Now, here’s the challenge for you: can you guess your friends’ colors? Observe their behavior, their style, and their preferences. Use your new knowledge of True Colors to understand them better and build a stronger connection.
Remember, the True Colors Game isn’t about labeling or judging others. It’s about appreciating the diverse tapestry of personalities we all possess. Embrace the beautiful spectrum of colors, and let the True Colors Game bring you closer to yourself and those around you!

- I need to gather these items:
- 6 clothes pins
- A ballot box
- Voting cards in 6 different colors
- 18 symbol cards (‘+’, ‘0’, and ‘’)
- Question cards
- A score pad
- A rulebook
Setting Up the Game
First, I’ll need to take a clothes pin and attach it somewhere visible, like on my collar. This will be the color I’ll use throughout the game.
Next, I’ll distribute two voting cards of each color to every player, excluding their own color. Additionally, each player will receive three symbol cards: one with a ‘+’, one with a ‘0’, and one with a ‘’. I’ll shuffle the question cards and place them on the table, and finally, I’ll position the ballot box in the center of the playing area.
Playing the Game
Here’s how you play the game:
Step 1: Roll the dice.
Step 2: Move your game piece on the board by the number you rolled.
Step 3: Take action based on the space you landed on.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 until you reach the end of the game.

- I vote
- I guess what will happen
- We tally the votes
- We start a new round
When it comes to online competitions, there are a few key stages that happen behind the scenes. Let me walk you through the process so you can understand how it all works.
First, I vote. I take a moment to make my choice and select my favorite option. This is an important step because it lets my voice be heard.
Next, I put on my thinking cap and try to guess what will happen. It’s like predicting the future! This adds an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
After that, all the votes are counted. The organizers tally up everyone’s choices to determine the most popular option. It’s always interesting to see which one comes out on top.
Once the counting is done, a new round begins. It’s like a fresh start, where everyone gets to have another go. This keeps things exciting and ensures that there’s always something to look forward to.
So, as you can see, there’s more to online competitions than meets the eye. It’s not just about making a choice or guessing correctly. It’s a whole process that keeps us engaged and entertained. So why not give it a try? Join in the fun and see what online competitions have in store for you!
1. Voting
So, here’s how it works. I grab a question card, flip it over, and read the question out loud for everyone to hear.
Now, pay attention because this is where the real fun begins. All of us, including me, have to answer the question. And here’s how we do it: once you’ve made up your mind, take a look at the clothespin of the player(s) you think the answer applies to and grab the corresponding colored voting cards from your stash.
But wait, there’s a twist. You always have to cast two votes. If you strongly believe that only one player matches the description on the card, then use both votes with their color. However, if you think two players fit the bill, use one vote each with their colors.
Now, sneakily slide your two voting cards into the ballot box without revealing your choice to anyone else. We want to keep everyone guessing, right? Here’s a little tip to make it even harder for others to peek: put both colored sides of your voting cards facing inward.
Once upon a time, I, Greg (red), found myself competing against my friends Eric (green), Marsha (blue), and Tracy (yellow) in a game. We were about to answer an interesting question: “Who do you think drives well, but wouldn’t want to ride with?”
I immediately thought of Eric and confidently placed two green voting cards in the ballot box. Eric seemed a bit nervous about Marsha’s driving skills too, but also had concerns about Tracy’s. He cleverly put one blue and one yellow card into the box. Not wanting to be left out, Marsha and Tracy each cast their votes as well. This added up to a total of eight cards in the box.
Here are some important rules to remember:
- Each player must place two cards (votes) for every question.
- The word ‘who’ in the questions always refers to ‘which player.’
- You cannot vote for yourself.
Step 2: Making Predictions
Now it’s time for a new challenge. I’ve already given my votes for the question, but the excitement doesn’t stop there! I have to predict how many votes I received. Will I be the popular one with the most votes, or will I get no votes at all? Maybe I’ll fall somewhere in between.
- If I have the most (+) votes, that means I have a majority. There are more cards of my color in the ballot box than for the other players.
- If two or more colors tie for first place, then there is no majority, but a minority () situation. This means my color was selected, but not more than the others.
- If I have a zero (0), it means that no one voted for me. Ouch!
Hey there! Let’s play a fun game! You have three cards to choose from: ‘+’, ‘0’, or ‘’. Take one and put it in front of you, face down. Once everyone has their card, we’ll all turn them over at the same time. Are you ready to see the votes? Let’s find out!
Counting the Votes
Once the ballot box is opened, I shuffle the voting cards to keep it fair. I then lay them out on the table and begin counting.
Here’s how the scoring works:
- If you correctly predict that you received the majority of the votes, you earn three points (+).
- If you correctly predict that you received a minority of the votes, you earn one point ().
- If you correctly predict that you didn’t receive any votes, you earn three points (0).
- If your prediction is incorrect, you earn zero points.
Remember to write your score in the first box under your initials.
Time for a New Round
So here’s what happens: we all hand in our voting cards, being careful not to reveal which ones are missing because we don’t want to give away our vote. Then we get a fresh set of voting cards. The next person picks a question card, flips it over, and reads the question out loud.
What happens at the end?
Once we’ve gone through 10 questions, it’s time to tally up the scores. Whoever has the highest score wins. If you want to keep playing, you can always get a new score sheet and go for another round.
