The Game Components

• There are 80 question cards.
• You will receive 8 dry-erase pens.
• Each player will have 8 dry-erase boards.
• There is the state-of-the-art Select-O-Matic 5000 device.
• There are 16 player tokens.
• You will get 1 dry-erase score board.
• There is a full-color rules booklet.

Setting Up the Game

• Each player needs a Dry Erase Pen, an Answer Board, and 2 Player Tokens of the same color as their Answer Board.
• Make sure you have some napkins to wipe off your answers between questions.
• Designate a Score Keeper. This player will keep track of the scores after each round.
• The Score Keeper will have the Score Board.
• The shortest player goes first. This player will be in charge of the state-of-the-art Select-O-Matic 5000 device.

Asking Questions & Writing Answers

When it’s your turn and you have the Select-O-Matic 5000, draw a Question Card.

Hey there! Let’s have some fun! Pick a question from the card and say it out loud.

Now, everyone else, grab your Answer Board and write down your response. Remember to keep it face-up on the table.

Choosing Your Preferred Answer

When all the Answer Boards are flipped over and lying on the table, you’ll get to pick your favorite answer using the SELECT-O-MAT1C 5000. It’s easy! Just take a moment to decide which answer you like the best. Once you’ve made your choice, lay the SELECT-0-MAT1C 5000 face-down on the table.

Can you guess my answer?

Now it’s time for everyone to take a guess at which answer I picked. You have two Player Tokens that you can use. Here are your options:

• You can place both of your Player Tokens on the same answer, or
• You can split your Player Tokens between two different answers. It’s up to you!

Let’s see who’s right!

After everyone else has made their decisions and placed their Player Tokens, I will turn over the SELECT-O-MAT1C 5000 and reveal the answer. Time to find out who knows me best!

When you play this game, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you earn points based on the answers you choose. For each Player Token you placed on the answer you picked, you get 1 point, up to a maximum of 3 points. The other players also get 1 point for each Player Token they used on the chosen answer. And don’t forget, the player who wrote the chosen answer gets a bonus point.

It’s important to note that the maximum score you can get in a round is 3 points. So make sure nobody takes back their Player Tokens until the round has been scored.

Now, let’s talk about preparing for the next round. After scoring, everyone should take back their 2 Player Tokens and their Answer Board. When erasing your answer, use a napkin instead of your finger to avoid leaving an oily residue. Lastly, pass the Question Cards and the SELECT-O-MAT1C 5000 to the player on your left, and get ready for the next round.

Game Over Man!

When we’re all done, that’s when the game ends. How many questions you get to ask depends on how many players there are:

• 3 – 4 players: You get to ask 3 questions.
• 5 – 6 players: You get to ask 2 questions.
• 7 – 8 players: You get to ask 1 question.

Who’s the Winner?

When it’s all over, the person keeping score adds up each player’s points.

And guess what? The one with the most points is the big winner! But, remember, the real point of Say Anything is to have a blast – not just win.

All Tied Up?

If there’s a tie, things get a little tricky. The person in last place gets to choose a popular song that everyone knows.

But here’s the catch – each player who tied for first place has to sing a line from the song and show off a little dance moves. The person in last place gets to decide who did the best performance, and that lucky individual becomes the ultimate winner.
