Diesel Demolition Derby Game Rules
Hey there, fellow demolition derby enthusiasts! I want to share with you some important rules for the Diesel Demolition Derby game. So, let’s buckle up and dive right into it!
First things first, let’s talk about the objective of the game. The main goal is to outlast all the other players and emerge as the last one standing. It’s a battle of steel and grit, where you’ll need all your skills to come out on top.
Now, when it comes to the arena, it’s crucial to stay inside the designated area. Going out of bounds will result in penalties, and let’s be honest, nobody wants that. So, keep your eyes on the prize and stay on course.
Next up, let’s discuss the vehicles. Each player will have their own diesel-powered machine of destruction. These beasts are tough, but they can take damage, too. So, be prepared for some serious action and make sure to protect your ride at all costs.
But hold on tight, folks, there’s a catch! Collisions are not only allowed but encouraged in this game. Ramming into other players is a key strategy to take them out of the competition. Just remember, if you dish it out, be ready to take it too. It’s a wild ride out there!
Oh, and here’s something to keep in mind – don’t forget to monitor your fuel levels. Running out of gas will put you at a huge disadvantage. So, keep an eye on that fuel gauge and make sure you have enough juice to keep going.
Now, let’s talk about winning. The last player with their vehicle still operational wins the game. It’s all about survival and skill. You need to strategize and make split-second decisions to stay alive while taking out your opponents.
So, strap yourself in, my friend, and get ready for the Diesel Demolition Derby. It’s an adrenaline-fueled, action-packed extravaganza that will test your nerve and driving skills. Are you up for the challenge?
Remember, it’s all about endurance, strategy, and a little bit of luck. So, go out there and give it your all. Who knows, you might just be the last one standing and claim the title of the Demolition Derby champion. See you on the battlefield!

I’m going to tell you about this game that’s divided into different parts called Derbies. To win a Derby, you need to have the highest combined Strength for the Combatants you control. The first person to win 3 Derbies is declared the winner overall.
A Derby is made up of a few turns. Each turn, everyone playing chooses a card from their hand and plays it at the same time. Then, we give the rest of our cards to the person on our left.
The secret to winning is picking the right Combatant to play and also gathering information for future turns. It’s like a big puzzle!

Getting Ready

- When you play with fewer than 6 players, you need to remove certain Combatant cards based on the number of players. For example, if you are playing with 3 players, you should remove all cards marked with 4+, 5+, and 6+. Here is the breakdown of the total number of cards for each game:
Note: If you are playing with 2 players, each player should be dealt 7 cards instead.
Combatants
The Parts of a Card
In the game, there are a total of 52 Combatants. Each Combatant card has a Name, Strength, Type, and Special Ability (some Combatants have multiple copies).
In the world of combat, a fighter’s type is determined by their strength. Additionally, a fighter may possess a special ability that is triggered when the time is right (you can find more information on this in the icons reference).
Hey there! I wanted to take a moment to talk to you about something that’s pretty important in the game – icons. Icons are these small images that you’ll see throughout the game that represent different things. They’re like little symbols that give you quick information about what’s happening or what you need to do. Let’s take a closer look at why these icons are so essential, and how you can use them to your advantage.
What Are Icons?
You might have noticed these intriguing little pictures scattered all over the game. They’re not just there for decoration! Icons are actually a fantastic way for the game to communicate with you quickly and easily. Instead of having to read a bunch of text or figure out complex symbols, you can simply look at an icon and instantly understand its meaning.
Why Are Icons Important?
The game designers are pretty clever folks. They know that too much text can be overwhelming and confusing, especially when you’re in the middle of an intense gaming session. That’s why they use icons to deliver information in a clear and concise way.
Icons can give you a heads-up about all sorts of things. For example, you might see a small clock icon to let you know that time is running out. Or maybe you’ll come across a little treasure chest icon that means you’ve discovered something valuable. These icons can help you make important decisions quickly and keep you on track to complete your objectives.
How Can I Use Icons to My Advantage?
Icons are like your secret weapon. They can give you a sneak peek into what’s going on in the game and help you make strategic choices. By paying attention to the icons, you can stay one step ahead of your opponents and make the best moves possible. It’s like having a cheat code, but totally fair!
Here’s a pro tip: whenever you see an unfamiliar icon, take a moment to hover your cursor over it. The game will usually give you a handy little tooltip that explains exactly what the icon means. That way, you’ll always know what’s going on and won’t miss out on any important information.
So, next time you fire up the game, keep an eye out for those nifty icons. They might not look like much, but trust me, they hold the key to mastering the game and coming out on top. Happy gaming!
Good luck and see you on the battlefield!

The power that never fades
It’s incredible how some things in life have an everlasting impact. Take, for example, this amazing ability that some cards possess – an ability that is enduring and eternally present, leaving no room for doubt or uncertainty. It’s an ability that remains in effect from the very moment the card is revealed, persisting as long as the card is face up and under someone’s control, regardless of who that someone might be.

Turn
When I reveal a card, I can use its ability right away, but it’s only available until the end of my turn, even if I get rid of the card beforehand.

Boom!
Here’s the inside scoop: instant abilities are like secret weapons that kick into action right after the cards are shown. But listen up, ’cause this happens just once in the whole game, even if the card reappears later due to some other trick. It’s like a superpower that only gets used once, no matter what. Isn’t that wild?

About the Derby
I have to tell you about this really cool thing called the Derby. It’s a special ability that you can use at the end of the Derby. It’s so much fun!
By the way: You don’t have to use all the abilities in the Derby. You can choose which ones you want to use. But there are some abilities that you must use. They’re mandatory.
Special Words
Control: When you control a Combatant, it means you get to choose which one to use. You can even use the ones from past turns. How cool is that?
Gain: When you gain a card, you take it and put it in front of you. It’s like you own it now. It’s under your control.
Swap: If you want to switch one Combatant for another, just take someone else’s and give them yours. Now you have the one you took. It’s like trading cards, but better.
How to Play
Here’s how the Derby works. It’s played in turns. Each turn, everyone picks a card from their hand and puts it face down in front of them. And they do it at the same time. It’s like a big surprise!
When we’re all ready to begin, we each reveal our chosen Combatants. And here’s the exciting part: any Ongoing and Turn abilities get activated right away! It doesn’t matter in what order we do it – the effects take place immediately.
So here’s how it goes: first, we deal with any Instant special abilities. We start with the Combatants who have the highest Strength, and then work our way down to the ones with the lowest Strength. If two or more Combatants have the same Strength, we activate them all at once.
Now, here’s the catch: if something happens during the game that makes a Combatant get discarded before it can use its instant ability, well, tough luck. That ability won’t be resolved. And any Combatant cards that get discarded because of a Combatant ability go to a common discard pile in the middle of the playing area, facedown.
Once we’ve taken care of that, the chosen Combatants who are still in play stay in front of the player who put them there, along with any other Combatants they’ve already chosen.
And finally, it’s time to pass the rest of your hand to the player on your left. Then, we start a whole new turn.
I’ll take you through the process of playing the Derby card game. It’s really simple and fun. Let’s get started!
The game is played by repeating a process until each player has only one card left in their hand. Once you reach that point, the last card is discarded, and the winner of the Derby is determined.
Now, I want to point out a special rule for when there are only two players. In this case, each player gets to choose and deploy two cards on their turn instead of just one. After three turns, each player will have played a total of six cards. And then, as usual, the final card is discarded.
What Happens at the End of a Derby?
The Derby comes to an end when every player has only one card left in their hand. When this happens, that last card is discarded, and the current turn concludes, just like I explained in the Gameplay section earlier.
At the end of each Derby, we have a couple more things to take care of. First, any Derby abilities are applied. After that, players need to add up the total Strength of all the Combatants they control, including any that may be face down. This will determine their final score.

When it comes to a Derby, the player with the highest total Strength is crowned the winner and receives a Derby Victory token.
But what happens if there’s a tie for the highest total Strength? Well, in that case, the tied player with the most Combatants takes home the victory.
If there’s still a tie after that, don’t worry! All the tied players are considered winners, and each of them gets a Derby Victory token. But here’s the twist – if there are no more Derby tokens available, players can use any other token to represent their victory.
Now, here’s an interesting situation. If a player happens to control the Commander and/or Underdog at the end of the Derby and fulfills the winning condition, they automatically win the Derby, even if another player has a higher total Strength.
And guess what? If two different players both fulfill the winning condition at the same time with the Commander and Underdog, they both become winners of the Derby. Talk about a photo finish!
Once the winner is decided and they receive the Derby Victory token, we discard all the cards and mix them thoroughly.
Now it’s time to get ready for the next Derby by going through the Setup process.
How the Game Ends

Hey there! So, here’s the deal:
When any player wins 3 Derby tokens, they win the game. Simple, right?
But here’s the catch: if two players both have 3 Derby wins, we keep playing until one player has more Derby wins than the others. That’s how we break the tie.
A Twist: Mekk Mania
Now, if you’re a fan of chaos and are up for a challenge, there’s a variant called Mekk Mania. Trust me, it’s wild!
First things first, we remove the Liaison Unit card. Goodbye, card!
Then, we separate the remaining cards into different decks. Each deck represents a unique type of Combantant. For example, there might be a deck for robots, a deck for aliens, and so on.
We shuffle each deck separately. Gotta make sure everything is mixed up nicely!
Next step, we need to draw cards from each deck based on how many players are in the game. There’s a handy table on page X that tells us how many of each type of card we should have.
Once we’ve selected the right number of cards from each deck, we put the rest of the cards back in the box. Bye-bye, cards! Then, we shuffle all the drawn cards together to form the deck we’ll be using in this particular Derby.
Finally, we deal out the cards to all the players and get the game rolling, just as we normally would.
