SPYFALL
Hey there! Have you ever played the exciting game called Spyfall? If not, let me tell you all about it.
Spyfall is a game that involves secrets, suspicions, and clever thinking. It’s a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering who is who and who is a spy.
Here’s how it works. Imagine you and your friends are at different locations, like a beach, a school, or even a space station. Each player gets a role card, which tells them their location, except for one player who gets the spy card.
As the game progresses, players take turns asking each other questions to figure out who the spy is. But there’s a catch – the spy doesn’t know the location! They have to use their wits to blend in and avoid suspicion.
The other players have to be careful not to give too much away while answering the questions. If they make it too obvious, the spy will catch on. It’s a tricky business, but that’s what makes the game so exhilarating!
Spyfall is all about observation, deduction, and trying to stay one step ahead. You have to pay attention to what others say and how they say it. Every word, every gesture, and every hesitation could be a clue.
But be warned, the spy can win too! If they can figure out the location before they are caught, they emerge victorious. So it’s a constant battle of wits and a game of deception.
Whether you’re an experienced investigator or a new recruit, Spyfall is a game that will keep you entertained for hours. It’s a game that challenges your mind and brings out your detective skills. So gather your friends, put on your thinking caps, and get ready for a thrilling game of Spyfall!
So here’s what we’ll do: first, we pick a deck at random. Starting from the bottom spy card, we’ll take out enough cards for all the players, making sure not to show anyone what they are. And don’t forget to include the spy card! Then, we shuffle the cards and give one to each player.
Now, this is where it gets interesting. Without letting anyone else know, everyone can check their card to see what role they’ll be playing in this round. And remember, we’ll do this for each round we play, putting the cards we used back into the deck.
Here’s how to play Spyfall:
Spyfall is a game that’s played in rounds. Before we start, we can agree on how many rounds we want to play. Once we have the cards, the real excitement begins!
Let’s start with the person who dealt the cards. We’ll take turns asking each other questions about the location we are in. Be careful not to ask anything too vague or specific – we don’t want to give away the spy’s identity. The person who answered the last question gets to ask someone else a question, but not the person who just asked them.
HOW TO END THE ROUNDS
Accusation
If at any point during the game, you suspect someone of being the spy, you can pause the timer and make an accusation. This will trigger a vote, and if the majority agrees, the accused person reveals their card. If they happen to be the spy, everyone else wins and scores points. However, if they are not the spy, the real spy reveals themselves and scores points instead.
Once the round comes to an end, regardless of the outcome, it’s time to move on to the next round. If the majority doesn’t vote yes, then we keep playing and the person who started the vote can’t accuse anyone until the current round is over. Now, let’s talk about what happens when a spy decides to reveal themselves during the game.
Spies Unveiled
At any moment during the game, except when a vote is being initiated, the spy has the option to reveal themselves and try to guess the location. If they guess right, they earn points. However, if they make an incorrect guess, no points are awarded to anyone for the current round and we move on to the next one. It’s a risky move for the spy, but it can pay off if they have a good hunch!
The Round’s End
After 15 minutes have passed, the round ends, and the spy can no longer reveal themselves. Starting with the player whose turn it was when the timer ran out, everyone takes turns making accusations and voting against someone. During this time, the person making the accusation can provide evidence to support their claim, while the accused can defend themselves. It’s a crucial part of the game where things get really interesting!
When we finish debating, we all cast our votes. If the majority agrees, we reveal the identity of the person being accused. If they’re the spy, the non-spies win and earn points. But if they’re not the spy, the spy scores a victory.
If the vote doesn’t have a majority, the next player on the left gets to make an accusation. This goes on until a successful vote is made or the accusations circle back to the original player. If it reaches that point, there are no more accusations, and the spy claims a victory.
ENDING THE GAME
Once the designated number of rounds is over, we tally up our scores. The player with the most points is declared the winner! We earn points by completing specific actions.
As a spy, I earn points by doing a few different things. Let me explain. You see, if no one accuses me or any other player of being the spy throughout the whole game, I earn 2 points. This is actually the least common way to get points, but it’s quite exciting when it happens. Now, if I can correctly guess the location while no one is being accused, I earn 4 points. It’s like stopping the clock and picking the right place where I think everyone else is at. Pretty cool, right? Finally, if another player gets accused of being the spy and they have to reveal their role, I also earn 4 points. Of course, if they’re not the spy, the real spy gets the points.
