Getting Started
Before we embark on our journey, let’s set up the game. Arrange the game pieces as shown in the instructions, and get ready to dive into the world of ENIGMA.
Okay, listen up! Let’s organize those ENIGMA puzzle pieces by their categories and put them on the matching chamber. Easy peasy, right?
The youngest player gets to be the start player. Lucky them!
Here’s What You Need to Do
Now, pay attention! All of us players will be solving different puzzles at the same time. The challenge is to finish before the sand timer runs out. If you manage to do that, you can flip over your puzzle tile and connect it to the ENIGMA conduit system.
Once you’ve done that, the fun really begins. Strategically place your networkers on the colorful power cells. The more points you can score on the scoring wheel, the better. The goal is to collect as many points as possible. The game keeps going until one player reaches 15 points. When that happens, the game ends, and the player with the most points becomes the champion!
How to Play the Game
Let’s break it down. The game happens in multiple rounds, and each round is made up of a few phases:
- Choose an ENIGMA puzzle tile
- Solve the puzzles
Hey there! Let’s dive into the exciting world of ENIGMA puzzles together, shall we? Here’s what you need to know:
- Turning over and placing the solved ENIGMA puzzle tiles
- End of the round
1. Choosing an Enigma Puzzle Tile
First things first, we have to pick our tasks. Starting with the first player, each of us selects one of the four tasks available.
We then take the corresponding puzzle pieces and place the top tile of our chosen puzzle chamber in front of us, with the conduit side facing up. Oh, and just a heads up, it’s super important not to sneak a peek at the puzzle side of the tile yet!
Remember, my friend, only one player can choose each puzzle category in a round.
The conduit side of the tile shows a section of the amazing ENIGMA conduit system, complete with colorful power cels. The other side of the tile holds the puzzle itself. How exciting!
2. Puzzle Solving Time!
Okay, folks, it’s time to put those thinking caps on! Let’s flip our puzzle tiles to the puzzle side and get cracking!
Ready? Set? Go!
As soon as one of us solves our puzzle, we’ll start the sand timer.
Now, the rest of us have only the time shown by the sand timer to figure out our puzzles. When that timer runs out, stop immediately!
3. Revealing the Solved Puzzles
Alright, now let’s see who cracked the code! Together, we’ll check who managed to solve their puzzle.
If you solved your puzzle, congrats! Flip that tile over and proudly place it on the table.
But if you couldn’t solve it in time, don’t worry. Just put your tile back in the game box.
Once we’ve solved our puzzles, it’s time to take the next steps. Let’s go through steps A) to C), one by one, in clockwise order, starting with the current start player.
A. Placing the Tile
Now it’s time to grab your ENIGMA puzzle tile and turn it over to its conduit side. Find an empty spot on the table and place your tile there. Make sure it’s adjacent to at least one other puzzle tile already on the table. That means it should have at least one side in common with the existing tiles.
When you place your tile, you’ll be expanding the conduit systems on the table. These systems consist of power cells that are connected to each other through conduit channels.
A conduit system is considered open if it has at least one conduit channel without an end. On the other hand, a system is considered closed if all of its conduit channels already have an end.

In my triumph, I have cracked the code and earned the right to place my puzzle piece on the table.
B. Adding a Networker
Right after I place my tile on the table, I can take one of my networkers and place it in one of the power cells on the tile I just put down – as long as there isn’t already another networker of the same color in this conduit system!
Note 1 : The usual rule is that each conduit system can only have one networker per power cell color.
However, every now and then, when two conduit systems join together due to placing a tile, there might end up being more than one networker of the same color within the same conduit system.
Note 2 : If all of your networkers are already on the board, you cannot place another one on a tile.
Hey there, let me tell you something important. Did you know that you can’t place a networker on a tile if you don’t have any left in your supply? It’s true! So, if you’ve used up all your networkers and there’s none left, you won’t be able to add another one to the board. Keep that in mind!
#image.jpg
Okay, get this. So, here’s what happens: I take a networker from my supply, and then I put it right on top of a power cell that’s sitting on the tile I just placed. It’s like a puzzle, you know? Gotta figure out where everything fits.
Gotta Score Those Closed Conduit Systems
Now, check this out – every single closed conduit system gets scored. And get this – I score points for each networker I’ve got in those closed conduit systems. It’s like a reward for getting all those pieces in the right place.
- When you have one of your networkers on a power cell with the same color as the power cell in the closed conduit system, you earn a point.
- The number of spaces you advance on the scoring wheel corresponds to the number of power cells you score.
- After scoring the power cells, all your networkers are removed from the closed conduit system.
Let’s say Black has placed the tile and created a closed conduit system. In this system, there are two red power cells, so Black earns 2 points.
Now, White scores 1 point because there is a blue power cell in the closed conduit system.
After scoring, all networkers on power cells in the conduit system go back to their owners.
Green’s networkers, on the other hand, remain on the board since their conduit systems are still open.
The Different Puzzle Categories
Hey there! Let me tell you about the different types of puzzles we have. It’s pretty interesting, I promise!
Weight Puzzle
In this puzzle, you’ll be trying to balance scales by putting weight pieces in the cups. Each cup has a number under it telling you how much the weight in that cup is. The trick is to figure out how to arrange the weights so that both sides of the scale have the same total weight.
See the small number in the lower right corner of the tile? That’s how many weights you need to use to solve the puzzle. Make sure to use all the weights shown there!
For example: Let’s say this tile shows that you have to use 5 weights to solve the puzzle. You could try putting 1 weight in each of the two cups on the left, which would make the scale tilt to the left side by 19 (13 + 6 = 19).
If you follow these steps, you’ll be able to solve the puzzle. First, put one weight in the left cup and three weights in the right cup. This will make the right side heavier by six units, since one plus three equals four (4+2=6). Next, put two weights in the left cup and five weights in the right cup. This will make the right side heavier by seven units, since two plus five equals seven (6+7=13).
Now comes the tricky part. You need to figure out which weights to place in the cups to make both sides weigh the same. Keep in mind that each weight is either one or two units. So, if you put one weight in the first cup and two weights in the second cup on the right side, this will bring the weight on the right side to 19 (5+7+7=19). The scales are now balanced and the puzzle is solved.

Welcome to the World of Puzzles!
Today, I want to talk to you about two exciting types of puzzles that I know you’re going to love. They’re called the Fragment Puzzle and the Conduit Puzzle, and they’re super fun to solve.
The Fragment Puzzle
Let me explain how the Fragment Puzzle works. There’s a puzzle tile with outlines on it, and you have seven different fragment pieces. Your goal is to place these pieces on the tile in a way that completely covers the outlines. It’s like putting together a puzzle, but with a twist!
The Conduit Puzzle
Now let’s move on to the Conduit Puzzle. This one is really cool! You’ll find a puzzle tile with channels on it, and your task is to place the conduit pieces on the tile in such a way that all the channels are either connected or closed. The puzzle may have multiple independent channels, so you’ll need to think creatively to solve it.
Important: There are a total of nine conduit pieces available, but be careful! Some of the puzzle tiles have conduit pieces marked with a red “X”. This means you can’t use those pieces for that particular puzzle. Just set them aside and focus on the ones you can use.
Welcome to the Angular Piece Puzzle!
So, here’s the deal. You’ve got these four angular pieces that you need to put together just right. When you look at your creation from above, it should match the picture on the puzzle tile. It’s like building a little structure!
Here’s how it works. You can put the pieces on the table or on top of each other. But here’s the catch – you can’t leave any gaps between the pieces. Everything has to fit snugly together.
Why is that? Well, it’s all about making it easier for everyone to compare your masterpiece with the picture. No room for mistakes here!
So, let your creativity flow and start puzzling those pieces together. You’ve got this!
Game Over, Man!
So here’s the deal: we all check our scores on the fancy scoring wheel. If any of us has 15 points or more, that’s it, game over! And guess what? The lucky winner with the highest score on said wheel gets crowned champion.
But hey, what happens if we’re all tied up, you ask? Well, in that case, the winner is the one with the most unscored networkers on the board. If there’s still a tie after that, no worries! We all share the glory and call it a joint victory.
Now, if none of us has reached that magical 15-point mark, hang tight! The game goes on, my friend. We just put all those puzzle pieces back where they belong in their corresponding chambers. Oh, and don’t forget to pass that start player marker to the next person in line, going clockwise. Then we jump right into a fresh round of fun and excitement!
