GUILLOTINE
Are you ready to chop off the heads of those unpopular nobles? Well, if you want to be the talk of the guillotine locker room, then this is the game for you! In Guillotine, the goal is simple – collect the most unpopular heads and claim victory. And trust me, nobody really cares about a palace guard. But if you want the crowd to go wild, you’ll have to be brave enough to behead King Louis XVI!
SETUP
Okay, let’s get started. First, we need to shuffle the Noble deck and the Actions deck. Make sure to keep enough space for the discard piles on both sides. Next, deal five action cards to each player. Now, everyone should sit in a circle around the group so that they can easily access the decks. And of course, don’t forget to place the Guillotine in the center – after all, it is the star of the show!
GAMEPLAY
So, here’s how the game goes. It lasts for three days. Every day, we chop off the heads of twelve noble folks. Now, the top twelve nobles are lined up in a row, and the guillotine is on the right. To start things off, we choose a player to go first.
During their turn, a player does three things. First, they play an action card. These cards let you do stuff like moving nobles around, drawing more cards, or even getting rid of some nobles altogether. Then, they take the first noble and put it face up in front of them. And finally, they draw another action card.
The player on the left does the same thing on their turn. And this keeps going until there are no more nobles left to collect. Then that day ends, and a new day begins! We put twelve new nobles in the same positions, and the game carries on.
When it’s time to start a new day in the game, the player to the left of the last person who started a day will go first. You can check what nobles your opponents have collected. Once the third day is done, the game will be over, and we’ll count the points.
The Game Ends
The game will end when we’ve beheaded all twelve nobles on the third day. Then, we’ll add up the points. Each noble has a certain number of points. You’ll need to add up all the points you’ve earned throughout the game. The player with the most points will be the winner!
