Calavera game rules – how to play calavera

Welcome to CALAVERA

In Calavera, all I want is to make as many crosses on my block as possible. The more crosses I have, the more points I earn. But I have to be careful not to get too ambitious and make poor decisions that will cost me points. My goal is to collect as many crosses as I can while avoiding the death zone.

Let’s Get Started

Setting up Calavera is really simple. I just need to grab a score sheet and place it in front of me. Don’t forget to grab a pencil too. The dice should be placed in the middle where everyone can reach them. Now we’re ready to start!

How to Play

Alright, let’s get this game started! The youngest player gets to go first, and then we’ll take turns going clockwise around the group. It’s a pretty simple game, really.

So, on your turn, you’re gonna roll all of the dice. You can roll them up to two more times after the initial roll if you want, but you don’t have to. It’s totally up to you. During each roll, you gotta decide which dice you wanna keep. Just set them aside and get ready for the next roll.

Once you’ve finished your three rolls, it’s time to choose a color to score. Think carefully about which color you want to go for. It’s an important decision!

When you’ve made up your mind, put a little cross in the row for the color that matches the color you chose for each matching die. Remember, all the dice of a color have to be used. You can even use jokers as colors if you roll more than one of them.

And that’s it! Your turn is over once you’ve marked all your crosses on your sheet. Then it’s the next player’s turn. Simple, right? Now let’s get rolling and see who comes out on top!

When you roll a skull, you can’t roll it again. Put it aside. Everyone needs to make a cross on their sheet, starting with the person who rolled the skull. Choose a color to make your crosses with. If you roll three or more skulls, you can’t put anything on your sheet, and the other players have to use your roll. If you fill up the bonus lines, you earn extra points.

Keep playing until you reach the gray space on the sheet called the death zone. To avoid entering the death zone, you can freeze rows by rolling two or three Jokers. The game keeps going like this until someone freezes points in all four color rows.

GAME OVER

Hi there! My name is Ellie, and I live in Northeast Tennessee. I’m a big fan of animals, fantasy fiction novels, and spending time outdoors. My husband adores me, just like our two furry friends. It’s so great to be a part of this amazing community!

The game I want to tell you about is really fun. It’s called Freeze Points. The goal is to freeze points in all four color rows before the game ends. Once a player has their final cross in the points zone of a color, they can score points. After everyone tallies up their points, including any bonus points, the total is written in the bottom right corner. The player with the most points wins the game!
