Welcome to Aquaretto!
Hey there! In Aquaretto, it’s all about managing your very own zoo and creating the best water-themed experience for your visitors. The goal is to attract as many customers as possible and rack up those victory points! Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
Now, let me tell you how it works. First things first, you’ll need to choose which animals you want in your zoo. We’ve got all sorts of creatures for you to pick from – a whole menagerie of options! From majestic lions to playful dolphins, it’s up to you to create a unique and diverse collection.
But here’s the catch: each animal needs its own space, and you can’t let your zoo get too crowded. So, you’ll have to be smart about it and make some strategic decisions. Are you up for the challenge?
Getting Set Up
When you’re setting up the game, start by removing some tiles, depending on how many people are playing. If there are five players, use all the tiles. For four players, remove one type of tile. And if there are three players, remove two types of tiles. Take all the leftover tiles and put them in the middle of the playing area. Shuffle the other tiles and take out fifteen of them, putting them to the side with the wooden disc on top.
Next, make some stacks with the shuffled cards. Each player will need a player board, a depot board, two big expansion boards, and two small expansion boards. They should put these boards in their own area. Give each player a coin. And don’t forget to place all the coworker tiles on the table, so everyone can use them.
Now it’s time to pick who goes first. Just choose someone randomly from the group. And then you’re all set to start playing the game!
GAMEPLAY
When I play the game, I go through many rounds. In each round, it’s my turn, and I get to choose what action I want to take. I have three options: I can take a money action, collect a delivery truck, or add a tile to a delivery truck. After I take my action, it’s the next player’s turn, and we keep going in a clockwise order.
If I decide to add a tile to a delivery truck, I simply take the top tile from a stack and place it on an empty space of a delivery truck, making sure it’s facing up. Each delivery truck can only have a maximum of three tiles. If there are already three tiles on a truck, I can’t add any more. On the other hand, if I choose to collect a delivery truck, I pick it up from the middle of the table and put it in my playing area along with all the tiles it already has.
When you decide to take a money action, you must pay for it. You can buy it with coin tiles or coins, using whatever combination works best. You can choose to move, expand the zoo, or buy or discard a tile. Remember to follow certain rules for each money action. Moves cost one coin, buying and discarding tiles cost two coins, a big expansion costs two coins, and a small expansion costs one coin.
When every player has a delivery truck, the round ends. If there are any empty delivery trucks, they are placed in the center to start a new round. The last player to get a delivery truck becomes the first player in the next round. When a player draws a card using the wooden disc, that means it’s the final round.
GAME OVER
Hey there! I’m Ellie, and I’m thrilled to share some amazing insights on the game you’re interested in. So, let me break it down for you!
In this game, the goal is to take a delivery truck in each round until every player has taken one. Once that happens, the game comes to an end, and it’s time for the final scoring. Exciting, right?
Now, here’s how the scoring works: each player calculates their own score by adding up their profits and losses from their zoo. For every animal they have, they earn a point. And guess what? They can earn even more points if they have any helpers in their zoo!
But wait, there’s a twist! For every type of animal they have, the player loses two points. However, here’s where having a manager comes to the rescue. If they have a manager, they only lose one point. Phew!
Once all the players have tallied their points, it’s time for the big announcement—the winner takes the glory! The player with the highest number of points wins the game! How awesome is that?
Well, I hope that explains everything in a way that makes it easy for you to understand. If you have any more questions or need further clarifications, feel free to ask. Happy gaming!
By the way, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Ellie, and I’m a proud resident of Northeast Tennessee. I simply adore animals of all shapes and sizes, get lost in fantasy fiction novels, and cherish every moment I spend outdoors. Oh, and did I mention my amazing husband and our two furry babies?
