Rules for Playing the Like Minds Game
Hey there! Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of the Like Minds game? I’m here to guide you through the rules so you can start playing and having fun with your friends or family!
Let’s get right to it!
Objective of the Game
The goal of the Like Minds game is to guess the same word as your partner, using only one-word clues. You and your partner should think alike and try to be on the same wavelength to win points and strengthen your connection.
Game Setup
Setting up the Like Minds game is super easy! Here’s what you need to do:
- Gather at least two people to play the game. It’s always more fun with a group!
- Split into two teams and choose a Game Master for each team. The Game Master’s role is to control the game and keep track of the points.
- Each team will choose a secret Word card and place it face down. Make sure your partner doesn’t see the word!
- Now you’re all set up and ready to start the game!
Gameplay
Let the mind-boggling fun begin! Here’s how the game is played:
- The Game Masters will start by giving their partners a one-word clue to help them guess the secret word. The clue should be something that you associate with the word on your card.
- Both partners have to write down their guess for the secret word.
- Once you both have your guesses, reveal them at the same time.
- If you guessed the same word, congratulations! You score 2 points!
- If your words are different but related, you score 1 point. For example, if the secret word is “dog” and you guessed “cat,” it’s still a related animal!
- If your guesses are unrelated, no points are awarded, but there’s always a chance to try again!
- Now it’s time for the other team to take a turn as the Game Masters!
- Keep playing in turns until you decide to end the game.
Winning the Game
The team with the most points at the end of the game wins! So keep those minds in sync and work together to score as many points as possible.
Remember, the real win is the connection and understanding you build with your partner as you play!
Final Thoughts
I hope you’re as excited as I am about playing the Like Minds game! It’s a fantastic way to challenge your thinking while strengthening your bond with others.
So gather your team, set up the game, and let the mind-reading begin!

The Game’s Goal
Both you and your teammate will create lists for the same category. The aim is to find matches that will move your game pieces closer to reaching “Brain Central” in the middle of the board.
Getting Started
Now that you’re ready to dive into the exciting world of coding, let’s talk about the first step: setting up your environment. I remember when I first started, I was a bit overwhelmed with all the options and tools available. But don’t worry, I’m here to guide you through it and make it as simple as possible.
Choose your Tools
The first thing you need to do is choose the coding tools that are right for you. There are many different options out there, so it’s important to find the ones that work best for your learning style. Whether you prefer a text editor like Sublime Text, or an integrated development environment (IDE) like Visual Studio Code, the choice is yours. Take some time to research and experiment with different tools until you find the ones that feel most comfortable to you.
Install the Necessary Software
Once you’ve chosen your tools, it’s time to install the necessary software. Depending on the coding language you want to learn, you’ll need to download and install the corresponding software. For example, if you’re interested in web development and want to learn HTML and CSS, you’ll need a web browser and a text editor. If you’re interested in Python, you’ll need to install the Python interpreter. Luckily, most software these days have user-friendly installers that guide you through the process.
Find Online Resources
Now that you have your tools and software set up, it’s time to find some online resources to help you on your coding journey. There are countless websites, tutorials, and forums out there that offer free or paid lessons and guidance. Some popular resources include Codecademy, FreeCodeCamp, and W3Schools. These platforms provide interactive coding exercises, video tutorials, and documentation to help you learn and practice coding concepts.
Take the Plunge
With everything set up, it’s time to take the plunge and start coding! Remember that coding is a skill that requires practice and patience. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and ask for help along the way. Join coding communities, participate in forums, and collaborate with other coders to enhance your learning experience. The more you code, the more you’ll learn, and the better you’ll become. So, what are you waiting for? Start coding today and unlock a whole new world of possibilities!

First, you need to place the Like Minds label on the dice cup. Then, take one game die and arrange the letter labels A through F in any order. Next, take the other die and arrange the numbers 1 through 4 in any order. Once you have done this, put the dice into the dice cup.
Now, it’s time to divide into teams of two players per team. If there’s an odd number of players, the teams can take turns having the extra player. Make sure that each team sits directly opposite their teammate.
Once the teams are set up, each team should take the two movers that match the path in front of them. Place one mover on each end of their color path. The goal is for both movers to meet at the brain space in the middle of the path. The first team to achieve this wins the game!
Finally, place the category cards off to the side of the game board and keep the brain within reach of all players. Remember, the brain should not be placed on the game board. Now you’re ready to start playing Like Minds!
Alright, let’s kick things off! So, one person from each team will start with the dice cup, while the other side gets the folders. If there are only two teams playing, everyone gets a folder. Make sure each player has a sheet of paper and something to write with.
How to Play

When I’m playing the game, I get excited when it’s time to shake the dice cup. But I have to be careful not to spill the dice out! I look inside the cup and see the number on the die – that’s how many matches I need to make with my teammate. But wait, I have to announce the letter on the other die too!
Now someone reads a category from the top card, and we all start writing down our answers. I have to be quick and think of as many answers as possible!
As soon as one of the players on the dice side of the table thinks they have enough matches with their partner, they grab the brain. That means the round is over and we all have to stop writing.
Oh, here’s an important rule: only someone from the dice side can grab the brain, so I have to be extra fast if I want to win!
Now it’s time to tally up the points and see who did the best. I love playing this game!
So, here’s the deal: I’m going to spill the tea on how this game works. Pay attention! Ready? Okay, let’s go!
First things first, we need to know how many matches we’re looking for. That number is now revealed to all of us – it’s no secret anymore. Once we’ve got that down, the player who’s quick enough to snatch the brain will be the one doing the reading. Picture this: they’re standing there, brain in hand, and they start sharing what they’ve written. Exciting, right? But hold on, there’s more to this game. The teammate has to respond. They’ve got to tell us if they’ve got the answers or not. It’s like a ping-pong of information. The player reads, the teammate responds. It’s a two-way street.
I don’t know about you, but I find that pretty fascinating. Our brainy challenges are out in the open, so everyone can see them. The tension is high as we wait for the responses. Will they have what we’re looking for? That’s the big question. And let me tell you, when they do have it, it’s like a burst of joy. A victory! We’re one step closer to winning this thing.
But hey, it’s not always smooth sailing. There are times when they don’t have the answers. It’s a bummer, for sure, but it’s all part of the game. We’ve got to regroup, rethink our strategy, and keep pushing forward. Challenges are just opportunities in disguise, right?
So, my friend, now that you know the ins and outs of this brain-bending game, are you up for the challenge? It’s time to put our minds to the test and see who comes out on top. Let’s do this!

Scoring
If you make the right number of matches:
If you grabbed the brain, you can move your piece forward by the same number of spaces as the number of correct answers. Let’s say you needed to match two answers, but you actually got three. In that case, you would move ahead three spaces. And as a bonus, you would also move an extra three spaces. The bonus is always three spaces.
As for the other teams, they need to check if they have any matches between them. For each match they make, they can move ahead one space. Only the movers on the dice side of the board move.
If you don’t make the required number of matches:
Even if you made some matches, the player or team who grabbed the brain won’t get any points. That’s the risk you take when you grab the brain.
As for the other teams, they can move ahead one space for each match they make, just like before.

Let’s Begin a New Round
Now it’s your turn to roll the dice and find out how many matches we need. Only you will be able to grab the brain when you think you have collected enough matches.
Place the brain back in the center of the table and give the folders to the other players. Put the category card at the bottom of the deck and start a fresh round.
The Game Ends
You don’t have to land your mover exactly on the center space.
Once your mover reaches the middle, it will remain there until the game is over.
When one of our teammate’s movers reaches the middle, the other mover will move on every future turn, regardless of which side of the table our teammate is on.
