- At the start of the game, place your armies on the territories. Choose one of the territories you’ve claimed and make it your “Headquarters“. Take the matching RISK card for your chosen territory and place it face down in front of you without showing it to others.
- Once all players have chosen their Headquarters, reveal the location of your Headquarters by turning your card face up.
Playing the Game
All the original Risk Rules still apply, but here are some additional rules:
If I manage to capture an opposing Headquarters, I’ll place the card face up in front of me to show that I’ve captured it. If my Headquarters gets captured by someone else, I won’t be eliminated from the game. I just have to give my card to that opponent and keep playing, trying to recapture my headquarters. I can’t use a Headquarters card as part of a matched set of Risk cards, so I need to keep them separate during the game.
