So, imagine you’re a funny little musician-beetle. Your mission is simple: you need to gobble up as many leftover foods as you can. But here’s the twist – you can only eat the foods you like!
But be careful! When the light suddenly switches on, you need to act fast and find a safe spot before you get caught!
Getting Started
Before we begin, let’s set up the game. First, separate the safety counters from the other tiles. Take out one less safety counter than the number of players and place them on the table. Put the remaining safety counters back in the box.
For example, if you’re playing with 5 people, use only 4 safety tiles.
Alright, here’s what you need to do:
First, spread out all the other tiles on the table with the “fridge” side facing up. Make sure to mix them up really well, but don’t flip them over or spread them out too much.
It’s totally fine if some of the tiles overlap. Just put the “Greedy!” card to the side for now. Take the six “Spotted!” cards, give them a good shuffle, and place them face down on the table.
Now, let’s give everyone a random Taste card. Deal one card to each player, making sure to keep them face down.

The First Round
Okay, folks, let’s get started! The game owner shouts, “Go!” Pay close attention to your taste card, take a mental snapshot, and place it face down. Remember, you won’t be able to look at it again until the game is over!
Now, the real challenge begins. It’s time to search for your favorite foods on the tiles, but here’s the twist – you can only use one hand! Take a deep breath and focus. You can only look at one tile at a time. Flip it over and quickly decide if you believe it contains a food you like. If you think it’s a match, grab the tile and place it face down in front of you.
But here’s the catch – if you don’t fancy the flipped tile, simply turn it face down again and put it back in the middle of the table. Remember, once you’ve taken a tile, it’s yours to keep, and no one can touch it!
If you accidentally flip a light bulb tile, you have to shout “light!” But beware, if you don’t notice your mistake, another player may shout it out for you. Whoever says “light!” gets to keep the tile and put it in front of them.
Now, everyone needs to find a “Safety” tile as quickly as possible. Look for a tile with a picture of a fridge on both sides and when you find one, place it in front of you and say “safe!”.
Remember, you can’t flip any more tiles after you’ve found a “Safety” tile. But here’s the twist – there are fewer “Safety” tiles than players. So, someone is going to be left without a “Safety” tile! That unlucky player has to pick a random “Spotted!” card and place it near their food pile. And that’s the end of the round.
In the following rounds, we reset all the “Safety” tiles and put them back in the middle of the table. You should keep your other tiles in front of you. The tiles in the middle are then turned face down and shuffled once more.
Once the next round begins, it plays out just like the previous round. But here’s an important rule: you can’t peek at your Taste card again!
When three rounds are over, the game comes to an end. At this point, each player calculates their final score:
– For each light bulb tile, you earn 2 points.
– Each favorite food tile is worth 1 or 2 points, as indicated on the Taste card.
– Each hated food tile costs you 2 points.
– Each other food tile costs you 1 point.
– And every “Spotted!” card comes with a penalty of -2, -3, or -4 points.
