Battle Babies Game Rules
Welcome to Battle Babies, the most thrilling card game for all ages! Today, I am going to guide you through the rules of this action-packed game that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Objective
The objective of Battle Babies is to be the first player to collect five powerful baby cards. These cards are scattered throughout the deck, waiting for you to discover them. Each baby card has a unique ability that you can use to outsmart your opponents and gain the upper hand in the battle.
Getting Started
Before we dive into the exciting world of Battle Babies, let’s make sure we have everything we need to play the game. To play Battle Babies, you will need:
- A deck of Battle Babies cards
- At least two players, but the more, the merrier!
- A playing area where you can lay out the cards
Now that we have everything we need, let’s shuffle the deck and deal five cards to each player. The remaining cards will form the draw pile, placed face-down in the center of the playing area. The top card of the draw pile is flipped over and placed next to it, face-up. This card starts the discard pile.
Gameplay
Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of how to play Battle Babies. The youngest player goes first, and turns proceed in a clockwise direction. On your turn, you have two options:
- Draw a Card: You can draw the top card from the draw pile. This gives you more options for your next turn.
- Attack an Opponent: You can choose another player to attack. To attack, choose one of your baby cards and play it face-up in front of the player you want to attack. Each baby card has an attack value, which determines how much damage it deals. The attacked player can choose to defend themselves by playing a baby card with a higher defense value. If they don’t have a suitable card, they receive damage equal to the difference between the attack and defense values. The player who receives damage discards that number of cards from their hand into the discard pile.
The game continues with players taking turns, drawing cards, and attacking opponents until one player collects five baby cards. That player is declared the winner and hailed as the champion of Battle Babies!
Extra Rules
Battle Babies is a game full of surprises. Here are a few extra rules to keep the game interesting:
- Power-up Cards: Some cards have a power-up ability. These cards can boost the attack or defense value of your baby cards, giving you an advantage in battle.
- Special Abilities: Certain baby cards have special abilities that can be activated during your turn. These abilities can help you strategize and turn the tide of the battle in your favor.
- Trade Cards: Players can negotiate and trade cards with each other, adding an element of diplomacy to the game. Be careful, though, as your opponents may not have your best interests at heart!
That’s all there is to know about Battle Babies! Now, gather your friends and family, and embark on an epic adventure filled with cute yet fierce babies battling it out. May the best baby win!

Have you ever wondered what babies do when no one is watching? Well, let me tell you, they’re locked in an epic battle for ultimate baby domination!
Welcome to a deckbuilding strategy card game where you get to assemble your very own baby army and compete against your friends to see who has the most powerful team of babies!
In this game, you’ll recruit a diverse range of adorable, epic, and even slightly creepy babies to bolster your forces. Your goal is to chip away at your opponent’s health until you’re the last baby standing!
To start the game, each player begins with their own deck of 10 babies. These little recruits will be the foundation of your growing army.
During each turn, you’ll play cards from your hand to recruit more babies, launch attacks against your opponents, and unleash special abilities to gain the upper hand.
Getting Started
First, I’ll need to set you up with everything you’ll need to begin playing. Each player will receive a health counter card, a starter deck of cards, and a unique class card. Don’t worry, I’ll explain everything as we go along!
Your starter deck contains 7 miner babies and 3 other starter cards that are specific to your class. You can identify these cards by looking for the label in the upper right-hand corner. These cards will form the basis of your deck and determine the types of strategies you can employ.
Now, let’s talk about health. Each player starts the game with 20 health. In addition to that, you’ll also receive a special ability from your Class Card. This card will be placed over your health counter, and you can use your special ability at any time during the game. As you lose health throughout the game, simply slide the class card down the health counter cards to keep track of your current health.
Now that you have your cards and health set up, we’re ready to dive into the exciting world of gameplay! Are you ready? Let’s get started!
To start, let’s set aside any leftover starter cards from the game. If we’re playing with four people, there won’t be any leftovers. Now, we need to divide the remaining cards into four separate decks. These decks will go in the center of the playing area. The decks are the Battle Plans Deck, Character Deck, and two Ration Decks.
Once the decks are divided, let’s shuffle the Battle Plans Deck and place it face down in the center play area. Now, flip over five Battle Plans in a row to the left of the deck. This will give us some options to choose from during the game.
Next, we’ll take the Character Deck, which consists of four classes of babies: Special, Warrior, Villain, and Ugly. Let’s shuffle this deck as well and place it in the center playing area below the Battle Plans Deck.
We’re almost ready to start playing! Let’s flip over five cards from the Character Deck and place them in a row next to the deck. These cards will determine the characters that players can choose to play as.
Lastly, the Ration Cards. These cards are split into two face-up decks. One deck is made up of Princess Babies, and the other deck is made up of King Babies. These cards will come into play later in the game.
Welcome to the Card Market!
This is the place where you can get all your babies and Battle Plans using rations. Rations are like money in this game, and they are represented by a baby bottle.
Alright, here’s what we’re going to do: I want you to put your personal starter deck on the right side, face down. Give it a good shuffle, and then deal yourself 5 cards.
Now, on your left side, that’s where you’ll be discarding the babies that you’ve used or defeated in battle. And don’t worry, we’ll get to that in a moment. First, let’s talk about what to do when you run out of cards to draw from your personal deck.
When that happens, all you need to do is take your discard pile, shuffle it up nice and good, and place it on the right side of you. That will become your new deck, and you can start drawing from it again.
That’s the basic idea of how the babies you recruit will stay in your army for the whole game. Pretty simple, right?
Symbols
Symbols. They’re everywhere. You see them every day, but have you ever stopped to consider their significance? Symbols are powerful tools that allow us to communicate complex ideas and emotions with just a simple image. They have the incredible ability to transcend language barriers and connect people on a deeper level. It’s fascinating to me how something as small as a symbol can have such a profound impact.
Symbols can mean different things to different people. Take the heart symbol, for example. For some, it represents love and affection. For others, it may signify passion or desire. No matter what it means to you personally, the heart symbol has become universally recognized as a representation of love.
Symbols can also be deeply rooted in cultural or historical significance. The American flag, for instance, is a symbol of freedom and patriotism for many. It’s a visual representation of the values and ideals that the United States was founded on.
But symbols aren’t just limited to flags or hearts. They can be found in all aspects of life. Companies use logos as symbols to represent their brand and differentiate themselves from competitors. Religious symbols, such as the cross or the Star of David, carry deep spiritual meaning for millions of people worldwide.
Symbols have the power to evoke emotions and spark conversations. They can serve as reminders of our beliefs and values. They can unite communities and ignite social movements. Symbols have the ability to shape our perceptions and influence our behavior in ways we may not even realize.
So the next time you come across a symbol, take a moment to ponder its meaning. Consider what it represents to you and how it fits into the larger context of society. You may be surprised by the depth and richness that symbols can bring to our lives.

Attack: I knock my enemies down with a powerful blow.

Defense: When it comes to keeping yourself safe, it’s crucial to be able to protect yourself from any harm that may come your way. That’s where defense comes in. Defense is like a shield that guards you from your opponent’s attacks, preventing them from landing a hit on you.

Rations: Rations are the currency of the game that you use to get cards.

Health: Restoring health to my health counter card is a priority in the game.
The Action Phase
When it’s my turn, I enter the main phase of the game, called the Action Phase. This is where I get to use the cards in my hand to do cool stuff like unleashing powerful abilities and attacking my opponents. I have three choices on what to do with a card in my hand: I can play it right away, I can keep it for later, or I can throw it away.
During my turn, I have the freedom to perform actions in whatever order I want. Even if I can’t use a certain ability, I can still choose to play a card just to enjoy the extra benefits from my Class abilities or card combinations. For example, let’s say I have a Pyro Baby card in my starting deck. This card can be used to defeat a passive baby with one defense. But even if there’s no such baby on the field, I can still play the Pyro Baby for other reasons.
Refreshing the Card Market

During your turn, you have the option to replace all the cards in one of the rows in the card market by using two rations. This will reveal a whole new set of cards for you to choose from.
Now, let’s talk about buying cards. You can acquire cards from the Card Market on your turn. Rations are the currency of the game, and they are represented by little baby bottles. These bottles can be found either in the top right corner of the card or at the bottom. You can spend rations to recruit more babies or acquire battle plans for that turn.
The number on the baby bottle symbol in the top right corner of the card represents its cost.
There is no limit to the number of cards you can buy per turn. Whenever you buy a card, the next card from the corresponding deck is flipped over and takes its place. However, please note that this rule does not apply to the Princess and King baby decks.
So, here’s the deal. When I buy a Character Card, I immediately put it in the discard pile. Simple as that. And you know what? The same goes for Battle Plans. When I buy one of those bad boys, it goes right next to my deck in its very own pile.
Retiring Starting Babies
First things first, let’s talk about those cards in your starting deck that have a red trash can symbol. Don’t worry, it’s not a bad thing! That symbol actually means you have the option to remove the card from the game instead of playing it. It’s like saying “bye-bye” to that card and taking it out of your baby army.
Time to Activate Passive Abilities
Now, this is where things get interesting. Some of your Passive babies have special abilities that come into play at certain times during the game. And guess what? You get to use those abilities during your turn! How cool is that? For example, let’s say you have a Passive baby that can deal one damage when you play a Battle Plan card. Well, when it’s your turn and you play a Battle Plan, that Passive baby comes to life and adds another damage to your attack. It’s like having a secret weapon up your sleeve!
But wait, there’s more! Some Passive baby abilities can even affect the turns of other players. Let’s say you have a Passive baby that makes your opponents’ Battle Plans cost one more Ration. That means they’ll have to think twice before playing their Battle Plans, because it’s going to cost them a little extra. Sneaky, right? Gotta love those strategic moves!

Healing
One thing that can happen when you use a Baby or a Battle Plan is that it helps you heal. When you heal, you move your heart tracker up by the amount of health points you’re getting back. But remember, you can’t go over the amount you started with.
Attack
When it’s your turn, some babies and Battle Plans can cause damage. If you’re the one attacking, the other player can choose to defend themselves against your attack.

- When it’s time to dish out some damage, make sure to play all your cards that you want to use first and then decide who you’re aiming that damage at. If you’re playing with more than two people, you can split up your damage between different players. For example, if you have a card with 2 damage and another with 3 damage, you can deal 2 damage to one player and 3 damage to another player. But remember, you can only deal damage directly to players, not to Passive Babies on the field.
- This part of the attack sequence is where your opponents can defend themselves by using their Passive Babies or Battle Plans to block the damage you’re trying to deal. Each shield icon on the passive cards represents one defense. One defense can block any one attack damage that’s coming from an opponent. And here’s the catch – once you’ve defended against any amount of damage with a baby, that baby gets thrown away, into your personal discard pile.
If you’re facing multiple attack damage, you have a clever strategy to defend yourself. Instead of relying on one passive baby, you can divide the defense among several of them. Here’s how it works: let’s say your opponent is coming at you with a total of 4 damage. Instead of using just one baby to defend it all, you can use a 3 defense baby and a 1 defense baby. This way, you’re able to protect yourself from the entire 4 damage. Once the babies have done their job, they are discarded, and you can keep moving forward.

If you’re ever in a situation where you’re getting attacked but your defense isn’t quite enough, don’t worry! You can still defend yourself. All you have to do is choose one of the cards you used to defend, whether it’s a Baby or a Battle Plan, and discard it. This way, you’ll be able to absorb some of the damage and keep fighting.

If you get attacked, you have a choice: you can choose not to defend with any of your babies that are already in play. This way, you can keep them safe for later turns. However, there’s a consequence. When you decide not to defend, your Health Tracker Card will decrease by the same value as the attack.
Clean Up Time
At the end of your turn, take all the babies you played that turn and put them in your personal discard pile. If you played any babies that can defend you from future attacks, leave them in front of you.
If you played any Battle Plans during your turn, make sure to put them in the discard pile next to the Battle Plan deck in the Card Market. If you still have cards in your hand that you didn’t play, you can choose what to do with them. You can keep them for your next turn or discard them.
The last thing you do in your turn is draw cards. You can draw up to 5 cards to plan your strategy for the next turn.
The Game Ends
When my health reaches zero in the game, it means that my baby army has been defeated. I have to admit, it’s a bit of a bummer and I might shed a tear or two, just like a baby would.
On the flip side, when my baby army is the last one standing, I achieve victory! It’s a thrilling moment when all my opponents have been eliminated and I can begin my reign of baby tyranny. Of course, this victory is only temporary and I know that another battle awaits me in the future.
