So, here’s the deal: to keep the goddess of drought, Atlacoya, happy, the oracle has a little test for us shamans. Before we even get to the real challenges, we have to prove our powers. And here’s the catch – we have to complete exactly the number of challenges we claimed we could. If we don’t, we’re in big trouble.
Getting Started

Okay, here’s what you need to do for this game. First, flip the game board so that you’re playing on the other side. Then, each player gets their own color and receives 3 tiles of disfavor, 6 number tiles (ranging from 2 to 7), and 1 shaman stone that goes on field 15 of the score track. Don’t forget, each player also gets 8 oracle stones.
Now, let’s talk about the game play.
You need to estimate how many of the 7 challenges you think you can handle. You have to complete the challenges one after the other, starting with the first 3, then the first 4, and so on. But here’s the catch: it has to be done in secret. So take one of your number tiles and select the number that corresponds to the challenges you plan to complete.
For example, if you think you can solve the first 4 challenges, choose the number tile 4. But remember, you have to complete at least 2 challenges, because if you don’t, you’ll face the wrath of the oracle. So 2 is the lowest number you can select.
Once everyone is ready, we all flip our number tiles and put them in the corresponding points box. It’s an exciting moment as we eagerly wait to see what numbers everyone has.
After that, we move on with the game and place the intermediate cards on the light-colored bird fields. This helps ensure that there are always 7 challenges to choose from, keeping the game challenging and dynamic.
And now, with everything set up, the game begins just as explained in the “Game Play” section. It’s time to put our skills to the test and see who can master the challenges!
Time to Check Player Boards and Earn Points
Now, we start with the first challenge and see if anyone has completed it. We carefully check each player’s board to see who has succeeded.
Remember, you only have to complete as many challenges as you indicated in advance with your number tile. The challenges to the right of your number tile don’t count towards your points, so don’t worry about them. Even if you complete them accidentally, you won’t get any extra points!
If you realize that you’ve made a mistake, don’t panic. You have two options:
When it’s your turn to play, you have two choices. First, you can place one of your tiles of disfavor on the corresponding points box. Or, you can accept the disfavor points in red next to the number tile and remove your number tile. Once you remove your number tile, you won’t be able to collect any more points in this round.
After you’ve dealt with all the challenges, there are two options for players who still have number tiles on points boxes. Option one is to receive positive points, which are indicated in green next to your number tile. In this case, you must remove all of your colored tiles of disfavor that you placed in points boxes from the game. These tiles will no longer be available to you for the rest of the game. Option two is to receive negative points, indicated in red next to your number tile, and get back all the tiles of disfavor you laid in this round. Choose the option that suits your strategy best.
After we’ve all been awarded our points, let’s return our number tiles and place the used cards in a discard pile. Then, we can collect our oracle stones from our player boards and advance the day tile one spot to the right. It’s time to keep playing, just like we did before.
The Game Comes to an End
After 7 days (rounds), the game reaches its conclusion. The player who has accumulated the greatest favor from Atlacoya, the goddess of drought, by earning the highest number of points emerges as the victor.
In the event of a tie, the players in question will tally up their remaining tiles of disfavor, and the player with the greatest number of these tiles will claim victory.
