TRICK TAKING IN BLACK AND WHITE
INTRODUCING TRICK TAKING IN BLACK & WHITE
Hey there! Trick Taking in Black & White is a really cool card game you can play with 2 – 4 players. It was created by Tsutomu Dejima. In this game, the goal is to collect an equal number of tricks in two different colors. If you do that, you get points added to your score based on how many tricks you collected. However, if you have more tricks in one color than the other, you end up losing points instead. It’s all about keeping things balanced!
At the end of the game, the player who managed to keep their trick piles balanced and earned the most points is the winner. So, you need to strategize and make sure you’re not only collecting tricks but also keeping them balanced between the two colors. It’s a challenging game that requires some clever thinking!
WHAT THE GAME IS ABOUT
Let me break it down for you. Trick Taking in Black & White is a card game where the goal is to collect tricks in two different colors. The game is played over several rounds, and each round, players take turns playing cards from their hand. The player who plays the highest card of the same color as the first card played wins the trick.
While playing the game, you need to pay attention to the colors of the tricks you’re collecting. It’s all about balance! If you manage to collect the same number of tricks in each color, you gain points equal to the number of tricks you collected. But if you have more tricks in one color than the other, you start losing points instead. So, it’s important to keep things even.
The game continues until all the cards have been played, and at the end of the final round, it’s time to find out who the winner is. The player with the most points, who managed to keep their trick piles balanced, takes home the victory. It’s a game that requires both strategy and a bit of luck!
So, if you love card games and enjoy a challenge, Trick Taking in Black & White is definitely worth a try. Get ready to collect tricks, balance the colors, and aim for the highest score. Good luck!
Hey there! Let me tell you all about this awesome game. It’s got everything you need for a good time. We’ve got a 36-card deck, along with some handy instruction cards, and even scoring cards too.
Now, the deck is made up of cards that are split right down the middle. You’ve got a white half and a black half, and each card is numbered from 1 to 36. And here’s where things get interesting – the value of each card adds up to 37. So, if you’ve got a card with a black 1, you’ll find a white 36 on the other side. And the card with a black 2 will have a white 35 and so on. It’s like magic!

Getting Started with the Game
Let’s begin the game setup! If we’re playing with 3 or 4 players today, we’ll shuffle the deck of cards and distribute them equally to everyone. In case we’re playing with just 2 players, each player will receive 11 cards. We’ll keep the remaining cards aside as they won’t be needed.

Let’s Play!
Okay, let’s decide who gets to go first. How about we play rock, paper, scissors? Ready? Go! Whoever wins will lead the first trick.
Now that we have our first player, it’s time to choose a card from their hand. They need to make a decision: will it be black or white? Once they’ve made up their mind, they’ll place the card face up on the table, making sure the color they chose is closer to the center.
The fun doesn’t stop there! The game continues by going around the table, with each player taking their turn. Just like before, they’ll have to choose a card from their hand that matches the color chosen by the first player. It’s always possible since every card has two suits on it.

When we play the game, the person who plays the highest number of cards in the designated color wins the round. The cards they win are placed face up in a pile, with the designated color always facing the center of the table. If the designated color is white, it should be placed in the center of the table. Any additional cards won in that color are also placed face up in the same pile. When the opposite color is won, a new pile is started with that color facing the center of the table.

When playing trick-winner, I start the game by leading the first trick. Then, you take your turn and lead the next trick. We keep going like this until all of the tricks are captured.
Now, let’s talk about scoring. After all the tricks have been played, we each count up how many white tricks and black tricks we’ve captured. If we both have the same number of tricks (like 4 black and 4 white, or 3 black and 3 white), we earn points equal to the total number of tricks we captured. That’s a win!
But sometimes, the numbers don’t match. For example, one of us might have 3 black tricks and the other has 4 white tricks. In that case, the player with fewer tricks loses points equal to the total number of tricks they captured.
In a two-player game, the player with a closer number of black and white tricks is the winner of the round. So, make sure to keep an eye on how many tricks we each have!
Now that you know how to play and score trick-winner, it’s time to start strategizing and having some fun! Get ready to show off your trick-taking skills and try to come out on top in each round. Good luck!
