Hey there! Let me tell you about Sultan, a really cool solitaire card game. In this game, you’ll be challenged to build eight different foundations based on their suits. What makes it extra special is that seven of these foundations start with Kings and go all the way up to the Queen. The eighth foundation, though, begins with the Ace of Hearts and goes up to the Queen of Hearts. Oh, and speaking of hearts, the King of Hearts is right in the middle of the foundation area, just doin’ his own thing. And you know what’s neat? When you win the game, the King of Hearts will be completely surrounded by all the Queens!
THE CARDS & THE DEAL
If you want to play Sultan, you’ll need two decks of cards, each with 52 cards. Make sure to take out all eight Kings and the Ace of Hearts from the decks. Now, take the King of Hearts and put it in the middle of the foundation area. Below it, place the Ace of Hearts. Then, arrange the remaining Kings around the King of Hearts, creating a nice circle. After that, deal four cards face up on both sides of the foundation area to create the reserve column.
THE PLAY
Hey there! Let me explain how to play this awesome game called The Play. Are you ready?
So, picture this: The King of Hearts is sitting right there in the middle of the foundation area, not built upon. Cool, right? Now, your goal is to build up the other Kings by suit until you can place the Queen on top of each pile. Oh, and by the way, each foundation pile will contain cards from the same suit – the K, A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, and Q. Nice and organized!
Now, don’t forget about the Ace of Hearts foundation pile. You build that one in the same way – starting with the Ace and working your way up to the Queen. When you’ve got all the piles in order and the game is won, the King of Hearts will be surrounded by all of the Queens. Pretty fancy, huh?
But wait, there’s more! You’re not limited to only the cards you see in front of you. You can also use cards from the reserve pile. If you have any empty spaces in the reserve, just fill them up with the top card from the waste pile. And if there’s no waste pile either, no worries – just grab the top card from the draw pile and fill up those spaces. Easy peasy!

So, here’s how you play the game. I’ll explain it step by step, so it’s easy for you to understand.
First, we need to flip over one card from the draw pile at a time. These cards can only be played on the foundation piles. If a card can’t be played on any of the foundation piles, it goes on top of the waste pile, face up.
There are two chances for a redeal. When we reach the end of the draw pile and the game gets blocked, we can turn over the waste pile and start again. If the game gets blocked again after the second redeal, unfortunately, you lose.
Now, let’s talk about how to win the game.
Your goal is to build up all eight foundation piles correctly. If you manage to do that, congratulations! You win the game.
