Welcome to Solo Lights
Hey there! Get ready to play Solo Lights, a solitaire card game based on the exciting Christmas Lights Card Game. In this game, you’ll be fixing broken bulbs and completing five strands of lights. To make things interesting, you’ll need to connect each completed strand to the next with a plug. And here’s the catch – you must finish before Santa’s character card is revealed!
All about the Cards & Setting Up
In Solo Lights, we use the components from the Christmas Lights Card Game. First off, mix the 42 colorful bulbs and 5 plugs together. Then, draw five cards to create your starting hand. Easy peasy!
Now comes the fun part! Shuffling presents, bubble bulbs (which are wild cards), broken bulbs, and the power outage card into the deck adds an extra twist to the game. It’s time to make your move!
Hey there! Let’s get started on this fun game with character cards! First, I want you to choose five cards that you want to use. Remember, one of those cards must be Santa. Once you’ve picked your five favorite characters, make sure Santa is at the bottom of the pile and put the pile face down on the table.
Next, let’s grab the pattern card deck, which has 18 different cards. Take two cards from the deck and draw them. Out of the two cards, choose the one you want to use to start the game. The other card can be discarded. Now we’re ready to dive into some exciting gameplay!
THE PLAY
Let’s get started with the game! To begin, play a card from your hand onto the table. This will form the first strand of lights. Don’t forget to draw a card from the deck right away. Keep repeating this process until you create a strand that matches the pattern on the pattern card. You can play the bulbs in any order, and bubble bulbs can be used as any color on the strand. Keep going until you can’t play any more bulbs.
If you find yourself unable to play a bulb, don’t worry! You just need to choose a card to discard from your hand and draw a replacement from the draw pile.
PRESENT CARDS
When you draw a present card from the deck, something exciting happens! You get to add another pattern card to the mix. Flip over the top pattern card from the deck and now you have more options to choose from.
FINISHING A PATTERN
Hey there! When you finish a strand that matches your pattern card, simply flip the pattern card over and grab a new one from the deck. The strands of lights are connected using plugs, so you can’t start working on your next pattern until you play a plug card. Easy peasy!
BROKEN BULBS & POWER OUTAGE
If you happen to draw a broken bulb card from the deck, things get interesting. You need to turn over the top card of your character card pile. Once you reveal the final card, which happens to be Santa, the game is over! So, keep your eyes peeled for Santa. And speaking of unexpected turns, if you draw the power outage card, brace yourself! You have to throw away all the cards in your hand and draw five shiny new ones.
BUBBLE BULBS
Now, let’s talk about bubble bulb cards. They’re special! They’re like wildcards. You can use them as any color bulb, a plug, or if you want, you can even discard a bubble bulb card to put a character card back on top of the character deck. How cool is that?
WINNING
Alright, time for the grand finale! The ultimate goal is to win, right? So, when you have completed all your patterns and there are no more pattern cards left in the deck, guess what? You’re the winner! Congratulations!
Okay, listen up. The game I’m about to explain is super fun and exciting. Picture this: you’ve got a bunch of strands of lights, right? And your goal is to connect five of them with four plugs. But here’s the catch – you need to do it before the Santa card is revealed! It’s a race against time, my friend.
