Prophecy game rules – how to play prophecy

PROPHECY

Hey there! Welcome to the thrilling world of Prophecy, where you get to be a fantasy character embarking on an epic adventure. Our goal is to collect ancient artifacts from our enemies, but watch out, because those artifacts are guarded by demons! We’ll need to use all our skills and abilities to outsmart these challenges.

SETUP

Alright, let’s get this game started! First things first, we need to set up the playing area. Place the board right in the middle. Now, we’ve got a bunch of cards to deal with. Divide them into different decks based on their backs, give each deck a good shuffle, and put them where they belong on the board. Depending on the type of game you’re playing, some cards may need to be taken out.

In this game, we start by placing the decks of common and rare items on the game board corners. These decks are assigned to specific locations on the board. Next, we divide the ability cards into five decks based on the pictures on the back. These decks are placed in their designated area near the center of the board.

Now, let’s prepare the characters. Each player receives a card, which they place in front of them. This card shows their strength and willpower. To represent their strength, players place red cubes on the right side of their character. The number of cubes is equal to their strength. Similarly, they place blue cubes on the right side to represent their willpower.

Let’s get started with the game! I’ll explain how everything works, so you’ll be ready to play.

GAMEPLAY

To keep track of your health, we’ll use red cubes. If you lose health points, we’ll move the cubes to the left side. For magic points, we’ll use blue cubes. Now, let’s gather three small yellow tokens, three small green tokens, and your playing piece. Once we have everything, we can start the game!

The player who rolls the highest dice goes first. Each round, you’ll draw a chance card and read it out loud to everyone. Then, you’ll need to complete the task written on the card. After that, it’s time to fight any enemies on the space you landed on. Once you’re done, it’s the next player’s turn.

When I get a chance card, I read it out loud, and then I can move my character. I can move one space to the left or the right, but if I’m willing to pay one gold piece, I can move two spaces. Once I land on a new space, something interesting might happen. I might encounter a creature card or an opportunity card, and whatever it is, it always has an effect.

If it’s a creature, I have to battle it. I can either use my strength or my will. If the creature only has strength or will, then that’s how I have to battle it. I roll both dice and add the number on my die to my strength or will. The same goes for the creature. Whoever has the highest total wins.

Throughout the game, you can earn experience points and gold. If you land on a guild space, you have the option to buy a certificate for five experience points and five gold pieces. If your character already belongs to that guild, you only need to pay with experience points, not gold.

The End of the Game

The game ends when a player collects a certificate from each of the five guilds: the Monastery, the Magic Tower, the Thieves’ Guild, the Forest Camp, and the Fortress. The first player to accomplish this wins the game!
