Prepare for Side Effects
What You Need to Know About Side Effects
Ever dream of being a scientist? Now you can experience the thrill of a science experiment without any danger! In this game, we’ll divide into teams and take on the roles of the “test subject” and the “observer”. The objective? Guessing the side effects while avoiding any mishaps. It’s all about teamwork!
May Cause Side Effects is a fast-paced game, reminiscent of charades. Get ready for an exhilarating and hilarious experience as the test subject acts out the unexpected side effects!
Setting Up the Game
Before we dive in, we need an even number of players. Each person will team up with a partner. Once the teams are formed, it’s time to shuffle the cards. Remember to keep the Trial Cards, Blue Pill Cards, and Red Pill Cards separate from each other.
In this game, you and your teammates will each have Blue Pill Cards and Red Pill Cards. The extras can go back in the box. Don’t forget!
We’ll need a timer set for 40 seconds. That’s how long each round will last.
Let’s Play!
The patient will be the player who has seen the doctor most recently. They’ll start by flipping over a Trial Card and picking a color. The chosen color will determine the word they have to act out during the game. Once they’ve picked, the Trial Card goes to the bottom of the pile.
Now, the patient will also flip over a Blue Pill Card and a Red Pill Card. These cards represent the side effects that the patient has to mimic for the entire 40-second round. They’ll keep these cards in front of them to clearly show their effects. Things are about to get interesting!
So here’s how it works: I’m going to give you a little rundown on this neat game we’re playing. It’s called Trial Cards, and it’s a whole lot of fun!
The first thing you need to do is grab one Trial Card from the deck. Keep it to yourself and don’t show it to anyone, not even your teammate. This card will have a word on it, and your job is to act out that word. But here’s the catch: you can’t say the word, mouth it, or skip a card. Nope, you’ve got to keep acting out the side effects for the whole time!
If your teammate is able to guess the word you’re acting out, great! You get to keep that card and move on to the next one. But remember, you only have 40 seconds for each card. After that, flip a new Blue Pill Card and Red Pill Card, and the timer starts again. This goes on for 5 rounds.
And that’s the end game!
Once you’ve finished 5 rounds and acted out all the Blue Pill Cards and Red Pill Cards, the game is over. The team with the most Trial Cards wins!
