Golden 10 – learn how to play with

Welcome to Golden 10!

Golden 10 is an exciting card game that can be played with 3 to 7 players. The goal of the game is to score the least amount of points possible. To play, you will need a special deck of cards called a “rook deck,” which includes four different colored suits: red, yellow, black, and green. In Golden 10, red cards will add points to your score, while the yellow 10 card will actually subtract points from your score.

Getting Set Up

To start the game, randomly choose the first dealer. After each round, the dealer position will pass to the left. The deck should be shuffled thoroughly before play begins. Then, one card at a time, starting with the dealer and moving clockwise, deal the entire deck so that each player has roughly the same number of cards. If there are any cards left over, they will be won by the player who wins the first trick.

Card Rankings and Values

The deck for the game of rook has 4 suits, all in different colors: red, yellow, black, and green. Each suit contains 14 cards, ranked from 14 (high) all the way down to 1 (low).

Out of all the suits, only the red suit gives you points. But be careful, you don’t want to win too many cards from this suit, especially the 5 and 10 of red. Most red cards are worth 1 point each, but the red 5 is worth 5 points, and the red 10 is worth a whopping 10 points.

On the other hand, the yellow 10 is the only card that can lower your score. If you happen to win this card during a round, it will subtract 10 points from your score. However, your score can never go below zero.

Now, let’s talk about the gameplay.

Let’s talk about how to play this game. It’s called Scoring. The game starts with the player to the left of the dealer. They get to play any card they want. Then, the other players have to follow the same color if they can. If they don’t have a card of that color, they can play any card they want. The player who has the highest-ranked card of the color that was led wins the trick. And if it’s the first trick, the winner also gets any extra cards that weren’t dealt. The winner of the trick then gets to lead the next one.

Now let’s talk about scoring the game.

When all the tricks have been played, it’s time to score. Each red card is worth 1 point, except for the 5 and 10. The red 5 is worth 5 points, and the red 10 is worth 10 points. If a player wins the yellow 10, they can subtract 10 points from their score, but only if it brings their score down to 0 or more. So if their score is already 0 or negative, they can’t subtract any points.

We keep track of points over 6 rounds. After the 6th round, the game is finished.

Finally, let’s talk about the end of the game.

The game ends after the 6th round is completed and scored. The player with the lowest total score for the whole game is the winner. So the goal is to have the fewest points possible at the end.
