GEMBATAN

Hey there! I am here to tell you all about the exciting game of GEMBATAN. Are you ready to dive into a world of amulet tiles and dual-direction gems? Well, hold tight, because in this game, your goal is to align different colors and rack up those points. But wait, there’s a catch – you can only place tiles when you have gems to put inside them. So, get ready to unleash your strategic mind and outsmart your opponents to claim victory!

SETUP

Before we begin, make sure you have a paper and pencil handy to keep score. Now, let’s set the stage. The gems are placed face down in the gem tray. Each player will then draw four gems and four tiles without peeking. These pieces will be put face up in front of each player, so everyone can see what’s in store.

Next, a tile is drawn and placed in the center of the playing area to kickstart the board. Now, we need to decide who goes first, and voila – we’re all set to begin!

GAMEPLAY

When it’s my turn, I’ll add at least one tile to the board. And for every tile that I play, I’ll also need to play a matching gem to connect the tiles. The gem has to have the same color on both sides. I can put the gems in a brand new socket or in an empty socket that another player left behind.

I can only play a tile if it connects to a tile that’s already on the board. I can’t cut a socket in half with my tile, so I have to be really careful about how I place it. If my tile creates two sockets, I only have to fill one of them. Once I’ve played all the tiles I want to, it’s the next player’s turn.

Hey there! Let’s talk about how to play this fun game. We’ll take turns in a clockwise direction, each player getting a chance to score their placements. When you place a gem, you earn one point for it. But here’s the exciting part – you can earn even more points if you create specific patterns with your gems!

Now, if you find yourself unable to play any tiles, no worries. Just turn in at least one gem and discard them. After that, you can draw up to four new gems or tiles, depending on how many you got rid of.

And now, it’s time for the end of the game!

The game wraps up when there are no more gems left in the tray. This could happen if a player runs out of gems in their hand or if a whole round passes without anyone being able to make a move. Now it’s time to tally up the points! But wait, there’s a twist – you have to deduct one point for each gem you have. Then, the player with the highest total wins the game!
