EXPLODING MINIONS
INTRODUCING EXPLODING MINIONS
Hey there! Welcome to Exploding Minions, a super popular game that’s a twist on the fan-favorite Exploding Kittens. The goal here is simple: don’t explode! Every time it’s your turn, you’ll draw a card. If that card happens to be an exploding Minion, sorry, but you’re out. But don’t worry, because there’s hope! You see, there are these awesome action cards that can help save your skin. You can defuse those exploding Minions, mess with the deck, or even make your opponents take extra turns. It’s all about strategy and survival. As more exploding Minions are drawn, players drop like flies. The last one standing? Wins it all! Let the games begin!
THE DECK OF CARDS
The deck of cards consists of 72 cards in total. It’s a simple yet captivating game.
To add some excitement, there are four special cards called Exploding Minions. These cards have the power to knock players out of the game.
Now, here’s where things get interesting. There are seven Defuse cards. These cards are the only defense against the explosive power of the Minions. If you have a Defuse card, you can defuse an exploding Minion card and stay in the game.
But wait, there’s more! The game also features five Attack cards. If you play one of these cards, you get to take two turns instead of just one. It’s a sneaky way to gain an advantage over your opponents.
Another useful card is the Nope card. There are seven of them in the deck. You can use a Nope card to cancel any action at any time… except for the Exploding Minions and the Defuse cards. So, choose wisely when to unleash the power of the Nope card!
Have you ever wished you could see into the future? Well, in this game, you can! It’s all thanks to the seven See the Future cards. When you play one of these cards, you get to take a sneak peek at the top three cards of the deck. Just remember, you have to leave them in the same order.
To add a twist to the game, there are six Skip cards. With a Skip card, you can end your turn right away. It’s like hitting the pause button, giving you a moment to strategize and plan your next move.
Lastly, we have the Shuffle cards. There are four of them. If you play a Shuffle card, you get to shuffle the entire deck. It’s a game-changer that can shuffle the cards and mix things up.
So here’s the deal: you’ve got this game called Draw from the Bottom that lets you draw cards from the bottom of the deck instead of the top. It’s all about having that extra edge and surprising your opponents.
Then there are these awesome Minion Character cards. When you play one of these bad boys, you get to snatch a card from your opponent’s hand. It’s like playing a little trick on them and stealing their best card.
But wait, there’s more! In this special edition, we’ve included these incredible Clone cards. When you play a Clone card, you get to copy whatever card was just played. It’s like having a secret weapon that can save your skin when things get explosive. These Clone cards are seriously powerful.
Let’s Begin
Getting started is easy. It all depends on how many players we have.
First, let’s take out all the dangerous Exploding Minions and the helpful Defuse cards from our deck. Safety first!
If it’s just the two of us, we’ll only need the cards with the Gru Tech symbol. They’re specially designed for a dynamic duo.
When playing with three players, we only use the cards without a Gru Tech symbol.
If we have four or five players, we use the entire deck.
First, give each player one Defuse card. Any remaining Defuse cards are shuffled back into the deck. Remember to use only the cards meant for the player count. Shuffle the deck and deal 7 cards to each player. This will give each player an 8 card hand.
Next, put a number of Exploding Minions back into the deck. The number of Minions should be one fewer than the number of players. For example, in a four player game, include three Minions.
Shuffle the deck well and place it face down in the center of the table.
THE PLAY
Each player’s turn has two phases: playing cards and drawing.
PLAY CARDS
If you don’t feel like playing any cards, you don’t have to. In that case, you can go straight to drawing. But if you do want to play cards, you get to choose which one you want to play first. Once you’ve made your choice, you place that card face up on the discard pile and carry out its action. After that, you can play another card, as long as the previous card didn’t end your turn. When you’re done playing cards, it’s time to draw.
DRAW
When it’s my turn in the game, I take the top card from the draw pile. If that card happens to be an Exploding Minion, I have to be careful. I can either defuse it or be knocked out of the game. If I choose to defuse it, I can place the Exploding Minion back in the deck wherever I want and put the Defuse card on the discard pile. I have control over where the Exploding Minion goes. But if I can’t defuse it, I’m out of the game and the Exploding Minion is taken out of play. It and the cards in my hand are put face up in front of me.
On the other hand, if the card I draw is not an Exploding Minion, it’s someone else’s turn to play.
WINNING
As the game goes on, players will get eliminated one by one. The last player remaining is the winner.
