CUZCO
Hey there! Welcome to the world of Cuzco, where you get to be the leader of a nomad tribe that’s decided to settle down. My tribe has chosen Moray as our permanent home. But to thrive in this new place, we need to irrigate the soil, grow crops, build villages, and expand our colony. Oh, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for opportunities to get ahead, because relying on others won’t fill our bellies!
SETUP
Alright, let’s get this game started! First, place the game board right in the middle of the playing area. Now, each player picks a color to represent themselves in the game. You’ll need twelve Inca meeples, three action tokens, five double terrains, two city terrains, three crop terrains, three festival cards, and a player aid. Make sure to put your Prestige marker on the starting space of the Score Track.
Before we get started, let’s set up the game board. We’ll put the different terrains and discs in separate piles next to the board, creating our supplies. Each of the three ponds on the board gets an irrigation pond. We’ll shuffle the festival cards and place them face down next to the board, then reveal the top card to start the discard pile.
Alright, now we’re ready to begin the game!
How to Play
First, we’ll randomly choose the first player. After that, gameplay proceeds clockwise around the group. On your turn, you must place at least one terrain. Each action has a point cost, which you can find on the action card. Here are the different things you can do:
- Place a terrain: Use points to add a terrain to the board.
- Bring an Inca: Spend points to bring an Inca into the site using the mountains or forest.
- Build a temple: Use points to construct a temple.
- Build an irrigation pond: Spend points to create an irrigation pond.
- Organize a festival: Use points to hold a festival.
That’s it! Now you know how to play the game. Have fun exploring the ancient lands and making strategic decisions as you go!
Hey there! So, when it’s my turn in the game, I can do as many actions as I want, as long as I have enough action points. But first things first, I always need to start by placing a terrain. Oh, and just so you know, festivals can only happen once I finish my turn.
Now, here’s the cool part – some actions I take give me prestige points right away, which moves my marker along the track. We keep playing, taking turns and doing actions, until we finally place the last triple terrain. And then comes the scoring and finding out who wins!
END OF GAME
Once somebody places that final triple terrain, they finish their turn and then it’s time for final scoring. Each of us takes our last turn, and we add up our Prestige points. The one with the most points wins the game!
