Broom Service Variant Rules

Hello! Have you ever played the game Broom Service? It’s a super fun game that involves some strategy and a little bit of luck. Today, let’s talk about some exciting variant rules that you can add to your Broom Service game to make it even more interesting.

1. Worker Bonuses

Do you want to give your workers a little boost? Well, you’re in luck! In this variant, each player starts the game with a special bonus worker. This worker can be used once per round to perform an additional action. It could be delivering potions, collecting resources, or even activating a special ability. This extra worker will definitely give you an advantage and make your decisions a little bit easier.

2. Wild Potion

Next up, let’s introduce the Wild Potion. This variant adds a new type of potion to the game – the Wild Potion. The Wild Potion can be used as any color potion when delivering potions or activating special abilities. It’s like having a joker card in your hand! The Wild Potion adds an extra layer of strategy as you can now plan your moves more carefully and surprise your opponents with unexpected deliveries.

3. Event Cards

Now, let’s shake things up with Event Cards. In this variant, a deck of event cards is introduced. At the beginning of each round, an event card is drawn and its effect is applied for that round. These events can range from altering the weather conditions, affecting the availability of resources, or even granting special bonuses. Event cards keep the game dynamic and unpredictable, adding a thrilling element of surprise.

4. Dueling Witches

Are you ready for some extra excitement? With the Dueling Witches variant, players have the option to challenge each other to a duel. When a player delivers a potion to a location where another player’s witch is located, they can choose to challenge that player. The winner of the duel gets a special bonus, while the loser loses a turn. Duels add a competitive edge to the game and force players to think strategically about their potion deliveries.

5. Cooperative Mode

If you prefer working together instead of competing, the Cooperative Mode variant is perfect for you. In this variant, all players work as a team to complete a common objective. You win or lose as a team based on your collective performance. Cooperation is key in this variant as you need to coordinate your actions, plan your moves, and help each other out. It’s a great way to foster teamwork and collaboration.

These variant rules are just a few examples of how you can customize your Broom Service game to make it even more enjoyable. Feel free to mix and match these variants or come up with your own. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and let your imagination run wild!

Hey there! Want to try something new and exciting in your game? I’ve got a great idea for you! Let’s shake things up by adding storm clouds, landscape tiles, and amulets into the mix.

The Storm Clouds #image.jpg

Check out these storm clouds—cool, right? You can use them on both sides of the board. When you start the game, mix these storm clouds with the heavy weather clouds. Then, just like always, place a random cloud tile on each of the matching areas. The remaining cloud tiles can go back in the box.

Here’s a little twist for you: If you want even more storm clouds on the board, you can use fewer heavy weather clouds. That way, you’ll have a higher chance of landing some stormy action.

Do you want to know a cool secret about this game? Well, listen up because I’m about to reveal something awesome. If you see a cloud on the board, something amazing will happen. You’ll get 2 extra victory points when you deliver a potion with a pawn next to the cloud. And guess what? If both clouds are next to the pawn delivering the potion, you’ll get a whopping 4 extra victory points!

Let me give you an example to make it even clearer. Imagine that Emily has one of her pawns next to both clouds. She’s a brave druid and delivers her potion to a tower that’s worth 2 victory points. But because of those clouds, she gets even more points. In fact, she gets 2 points for each cloud and 3 points for the tower. That adds up to a massive 9 victory points! And she even gets an extra wand! How cool is that?

Now, here’s the thing. This cloud is special because it always works as long as it’s on the board. But all the other clouds are a bit different. They only work once, and that’s when they’re charmed away. So keep that in mind as you play. It’s like a secret power that you can use to your advantage.

(2x) If you manage to charm away this cloud, you can move any of your pawns to a neighboring area. It’s like having a cowardly witch at your disposal.

#image.jpg

(1x) If you’re able to charm away this cloud, you can use any potion right away, with either pawn. It’s just like playing the cowardly druid!

#image.jpg

(3x) When I charm away this cloud, I get victory points if I have at least as many potions of the matching color shown on the cloud: at least 3 orange, 4 green, or 4 purple potions.

I can keep these potions and don’t have to return them to the supply!

If I don’t have enough potions, I still get the cloud tile but not the victory points.

I’d like to talk to you about an essential element in the game called “The Mountain Tiles and Amulets.” These tiles and amulets have a significant role, so let me explain how they work.

The Mountain Tiles and Amulets

The mountain tiles are an important feature of the game. There are five of them, and they are used on the front side of the board. In the beginning, these tiles are shuffled, and one is randomly placed face-up on each of the three mountain areas.

But here comes the twist – if a tower is covered by one of these tiles, it loses its functions. So you have to be careful about that. The remaining two mountain tiles are then put back into the box for later use.

Now, let’s talk about the amulets. Each player has an amulet of their own color, and they need to place one next to each mountain tile. This is an important step to remember.

When you move one of your pawns to one of these mountain areas, there are a few things you can do. You have the freedom to do them in any order you like. Here’s what you can do:

I’ll rewrite the original text for you, taking care to maintain the HTML markup:

    • I grab my amulet from the mountain area and hold onto it, where everyone can see. These amulets will earn me victory points at the end of the game: one amulet is worth 4 points, two amulets are worth 9 points, and if I manage to collect all three amulets, that’s 15 points for me (more info on the back of the game summary).
    • I get to use the mountain tile to its fullest extent, without taking it away. But if I decide not to use the tile, it’s gone for good – I can’t use it later on (that’s because someone else has already claimed their amulet)!
    • If I’m playing as the brave mountain witch, I can leave a potion behind here, if I want to.

Let me break down what each tile means:

When you play the game, you’ll need to grab a potion of each color from the pile. If you’re feeling daring and decide to be the fearless mountain witch, you can take one of these potions right away.

You’ll also need to grab two magic wands from the pile.

If you’re playing a game, you can use either of the pawns to deliver any kind of potion. Just pretend you’re a cowardly druid and act accordingly. Oh, and don’t forget that you can also deliver potions to a square tower. It’s all part of the fun!

    #image.jpg

When I play the game, I have the option to make two moves with one pawn or one move with each of my pawns. It’s just like having those sneaky witches on my team.

    #image.jpg

When I’m playing the game, I have the special ability to charm away any cloud tile that’s right next to either of my pawns. It’s like I’m using some magic powers to control the weather!

    The Mysterious Forest Tiles #image.jpg

The forest tiles are really important in this game, so I have to make sure I use them wisely. At the beginning of the game, we shuffle the six tiles and place them face-up on the spaces in the four forest areas. The other two forest tiles go back in the box.

When I move one of my pawns to one of these forest areas, I get to take a forest tile from the board and keep it. Everyone can see it because it stays face-up.

Now here’s the thing – I can only use each forest tile once. After I use it, I have to turn it face-down and put it next to the board. That means I can only use one forest tile for each role card and one “+1 card” tile at the start of a round.

Each forest tile has a different meaning, so it’s really important to pay attention to what they do:

    #image.jpg

(2x) If I’m a player and I choose to play it safe with one of these tiles, I have the option to be brave instead. But don’t worry, I’ll still follow the rest of the rules and keep playing it safe.

So, when I make this bold choice, I won’t take over as the brave player, and I definitely won’t become the starting player for the next role card.

Now, here’s an important thing to remember: when we’re in the middle of the “Brave Heart” event, I can’t escape my duty to be brave by using this tile. I’ll have to step up and embrace the bravery that’s expected.

    #image.jpg

(2x) If you use this tile at the start of a round, you can grab an extra card.

Even after everyone has revealed their hand size, you can still use this tile in the “More or Less” event. However, the extra card doesn’t count toward scoring victory points in this event.

    #image.jpg

(2x) If you’re a player and you play a role card cowardly, using this I tile, you’ll snag 5 victory points instead of taking the action.

If you use this tile during the events “Black Market” or “Black Distillery,” you’ll still only get 5 victory points (no extra +3 victory points or resources).

    The Hill Tiles #image.jpg

You have to use the hill tiles when you play the back side of the board. At the start of the game, shuffle the six tiles and put them face-up on the hill areas. The remaining two tiles go back in the box.

    Here’s what each tile means:

(5x) If you move your pawn to either of these hill areas, something exciting happens – your pawn will zoom to one of the two stone circles shown on the tile! We call this the “turbo broom” feature. Once you arrive at the new area, you have the opportunity to deliver a potion, but only if you are playing as the brave hill witch.

    #image.jpg

Note: Keep in mind that you may not be able to access or leave stone circle “B”, and once you arrive at stone circle “D”, you won’t be able to leave the island.

(1x) Here, there’s no “turbo broom” power to activate, but if you play as the brave hill witch, you can earn 7 victory points by delivering an orange potion to the supply, just like if the tower was already on the board. The same goes for the peak druid – any player who delivers a potion here will also score points.
