Press Conference: Whenever there are Public Opinion tokens on the board, I can have a Press Conference and earn Prestige Points. The more tokens there are, the more Points I get. When the game ends, I can pick one Continent and ignore any tokens there when scoring. This will only affect my Museum.
  • #image.jpg
Express Delivery: With Express Delivery, I can add an Object card worth 1 to 4 from my hand to my Museum without paying for it. It’s like a special delivery that saves me money!

Welcome, adventurer! I have some exciting news for you today. Allow me to introduce the new Archaeological Team. It’s a game-changer that will enhance your exploration experience, so read on to discover its remarkable abilities. Brace yourself for an incredible journey into the unknown!

  • #image.jpgNew Archaeological Team: Picture this: at the start of your Exploration Phase, you can call upon the Archaeological Team to assist you. This fantastic team grants you the power to retrieve the two Object cards currently available in any continent of your choice. But here’s the twist – instead of keeping those cards, you’ll place them back at the bottom of the deck. Trust me, it’s all part of the plan!

Special cases: There are certain situations in the game where specific rules apply. For example, if a continent is closed by a Headline card, you are not able to take any actions there. Additionally, if there is only one card available, instead of taking four cards as usual, you take two cards and choose only one. On the other hand, if the number of available cards increases by one, you draw six cards and then choose three from them. However, if one of the cards you draw happens to be a Public Opinion card, it is discarded, and a Public Opinion token is added to the continent related to that card. It’s important to note that you are not allowed to draw another card to replace the discarded one.

  • #image.jpg
Charity Ball: The Charity Ball action allows you to select an Object card from any Common Pool (discard) and add it to your Museum without cost. The value of the Object card can range from 1 to 4. This gives you the opportunity to acquire valuable pieces for your collection without using any of your resources. It’s a great way to elevate your Museum’s status and enhance your chances of success in the game.
  • As a private collector, I can make a move called the Private Collector. This move allows me to take an Object card from my Personal Reserve and remove it from the game for good. When I do this, I gain a number of Prestige points equal to the value of the card, plus one.

Another move I can make is called the Archaeological Discovery. In this move, as the active player, I get to draw cards from a Continent. The number of cards I draw is determined by the number of players, plus one. Once I’ve drawn the cards, I reveal them and choose one to keep. Then, starting with the player next to me and going around the table, each player gets to choose one of the remaining cards. The last card goes to me, the active player.

Special cases: You can’t do this action on a Continent that’s closed by a Headline card. If the number of available cards has gone down by 1, you’ll also draw 1 less card. So you won’t get a second card. On the other hand, if the number of available cards has gone up by 1, you’ll draw an extra card. The active player will get 3 cards instead of just one. If you draw a Public Opinion card, it gets discarded and a Public Opinion token is added to the relevant Continent. You can’t draw another card to replace it.

  • #image.jpgInventory: You can take one or more cards (as long as the total value doesn’t exceed 5) from your Common Pool (your discard pile) and put them in your Personal Reserve (your hand).
  • When it comes to choosing the right actions in the museum game, there are a few important things to keep in mind. First, take into account the bank loan option. This allows you to receive 4 Prestige point tokens, which can really elevate your position in the game. Second, you have the option of good hiring. With this action, you can either hire one Expert for free or take the top 3 cards from the Expert deck. If you choose the latter, you can hire one Expert for free and then put the remaining two cards at the bottom of the deck. This gives you more options and resources to work with. By considering these factors and making strategic decisions, you can effectively navigate the game and optimize your chances of success.

    Headline Cards

    • #image.jpgWar in Different Parts of the World: Uh-oh! Looks like a war has broken out in a specific continent. This means that continent is off-limits for this turn. Any objects that were up for grabs are placed back on top of the deck for that continent. And just to be extra clear, we’re gonna put the “Embargo” token on that continent as a friendly reminder. Oh, and don’t worry, any objects that were already taken will be put back in their rightful place once the card’s effect wears off. Whew!
    • #image.jpgInstability in Africa and the Middle East/Asia/Europe/ America and Pacific: It’s kinda wild in these parts of the world. Stuff’s always changing, you know? Anyway, there’s only gonna be one card for each of these places. So, just grab the card that’s closest to the Headline deck and put it back on the pile for that continent. Oh, and don’t forget to replace it with the Customs Token on the -1 side. That way, we’ll remember what’s up. Once everything’s settled down, we’ll put the Customs Token back in its proper spot.
    • #image.jpgA Patron in Africa and the Middle East/Asia/Europe/ America and Pacific: Guess what? We’ve got an extra card for these continents! Woo-hoo! It’s like getting a bonus, you know? So, let’s draw a third card and put the Customs Token on the +1 side. That’ll help us remember that things are a little different around here.
    • #image.jpg
Mysterious death!: This one’s kinda spooky. If we want to recruit any experts, it’s gonna cost us an extra point. Yeah, I know, it stinks. But hey, that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

    Patron Cards

    • #image.jpgQuadruple Collections: These patron cards are pretty straightforward. All you need to do is collect 4 different small collections and you’re good to go. It’s one of the easier options out there.
    • #image.jpgLegacy Cards: Now these are a bit more challenging. To complete a legacy card, you have to gather a civilization collection of either 5, 8, or 11 cards. It’s not a walk in the park, but if you’re up for a big challenge, this is the one for you.

  • #image.jpgContinents: Collecting Objects from the same Continent is the aim of Continent Patrons. They will ask you to gather as many as 6, 10, or 14 of these items. Because these Objectives allow you to choose freely from different Civilizations and Domains, they are relatively straightforward.
  • #image.jpgThe Perfect Collection: The Perfect Collection patron wants you to create sets of 5 Cards—whether they belong to a Domain or a Civilization. Each set should contain Objects with values of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
  • When it comes to running a museum, there are certain cards called Patrons that provide specific objectives for you to achieve. These objectives can be challenging but also rewarding. Let’s take a look at a few different types of Patron cards and what they require from you:

    • #image.jpgThe Masterpieces: This Patron wants you to collect a certain number of rare and valuable Masterpieces. You can choose to collect 4, 6, or 8 of them. Masterpieces may be hard to find and expensive, so this objective is considered difficult.
    • #image.jpgThe Greatest Team: If you recruit an Expert, you will earn 5 victory points. The more Experts you have on your team, the more points you can accumulate!
    • #image.jpgFountain of Knowledge: This objective requires you to gather 1, 2, or 3 Domain Collections. Each collection should consist of 5 cards. Focus on building these collections to fulfill this objective.
    • #image.jpgA Glimpse of the Past: To complete this objective, you’ll need to gather a Civilisation Collection of 7 cards and a Domain Collection of 6 cards. This card tells a story that spans across different collections in your museum.

These Patron cards provide unique challenges and goals for you to achieve in your museum. By carefully considering each one and devising a strategy, you can work towards fulfilling these objectives and earning valuable rewards!
