Welcome to the Mondo Expert Game!
Let me break down the rules for you. We’ve got a beginner game and an advanced game, but in the expert game, we’ve got some extra twists:
Setting Up
First things first, grab the 12 extra tasks and shuffle them up. Place them face down to the side. Now, turn over twice as many additional tasks as there are players. Make sure they’re face up and within everyone’s reach.
For instance, if you’re playing with three people, turn over 6 additional tasks. Easy enough, right?
Let the Game Begin!
Each turn starts with a 5-minute timer. Keep that in mind.
During your turn, you can grab up to 2 additional tasks and put them in front of you. These tasks stay with you until the end of your turn. Nobody can take them away, and you can’t give them up.
If you want to, you can take more tasks, but only after you’ve placed at least 3 tiles on your board.
You don’t have to take more tasks if you don’t want to. Once you’ve opted out, you can’t take any more tasks.
Scoring
Each additional task only counts for the player who chose it and put it in front of themselves.
If you complete the task, you get the number of points shown on it. If you don’t complete the task, you lose the same number of points.
Next Turn
Get all 12 additional tasks, shuffle them, and turn over twice as many tasks as there are players.

Scorpions – Fascinating Desert Dwellers
Imagine this: a desert landscape, with sand stretching as far as the eye can see. And in the midst of this seemingly desolate terrain, there they are – scorpions, mysterious and intriguing creatures that have adapted to survive in these extreme conditions.
Scorpions are a group of arachnids that have been around for millions of years. They belong to the same family as spiders, ticks, and mites. With their distinct appearance, including a set of pincers and a curved tail with a venomous stinger, they are instantly recognizable. But there is so much more to these creatures than meets the eye.
Did you know that scorpions glow in the dark? This incredible phenomenon, known as fluorescence, occurs when certain chemicals in their exoskeleton absorb ultraviolet light and then emit it as visible light. This adaptation serves multiple purposes, from attracting prey to deterring predators.
Speaking of prey, scorpions are skilled hunters. They use their specialized pincers to seize and crush their victim, and their venomous stinger to inject a paralyzing toxin. The venom varies in potency depending on the species, but it is primarily used to subdue prey rather than for self-defense.
Scorpions are incredibly adaptable creatures. They have the ability to regulate their metabolism and reduce their activity level to conserve energy when food is scarce. Some species are even known to hibernate during periods of extreme heat or cold.
While you may associate scorpions with dry, sun-baked deserts, they are also found in a variety of other habitats, including forests, grasslands, and caves. Some species have even made their way into urban areas, where they can be found in dark corners or under rocks and debris.
Despite their fearsome reputation, most scorpions are harmless to humans. The venom of the majority of scorpion species is not potent enough to cause serious harm. However, there are a few species whose venom can be dangerous and even fatal. It’s always best to admire these creatures from a safe distance.
In the fascinating world of desert dwellers, scorpions stand out as captivating creatures. From their unique appearance to their remarkable adaptations, these arachnids have found their place in some of the harshest environments on Earth. So, next time you find yourself in the desert, take a moment to appreciate the beauty and resilience of these fascinating creatures.
