Let me tell you about a fun game called Wit’s End. It’s a game that requires you to answer questions in order to move around a multi-level gameboard. There are four different categories of questions that you’ll encounter.

The gameboard is divided into different colored levels: blue, green, red, and purple, with blue being the lowest level. You can move between levels using arrows on the gameboard.

The ultimate goal of the game is to be the first player to reach the center of the gameboard, which is marked by the Wit’s End logo. And you have to answer a question correctly once you get there to win the game.

Setting Up the Game

To start the game, each player chooses a playing pawn and places it on any corner square on the blue level. You can even start from the same square as another player if you want. Then, roll the die to determine who goes first. The player with the highest roll gets to go first.

The Categories of Questions

The game has four different types of cards that present various challenges. One of these card categories is called “Teaser.” In the Teaser category, the objective is to solve a rhyming riddle that is presented in quotes.

When you play the Odd1Out game, you’re faced with a challenge: figuring out which of the four choices doesn’t belong. It’s like solving a puzzle, where you have to use your critical thinking skills to make the right choice.

In the Sequence category, you’ll see a bunch of options that you have to put in a specific order. This could be things like arranging them from longest to shortest, oldest to youngest, or from most to least. You don’t have to give the actual numbers or figures, just organize them based on their characteristics.

In the “Wild Card” category, you never know what kind of question you’ll get. It could be a famous quote to solve or some brain trivia or a true or false question. Just read the instructions in the question and follow them.

How to Play the Game

If you’re the first player, roll the die and move your playing piece left or right based on the number you rolled.

So, here’s what you do: Draw a card and answer the question that goes with the category mentioned on the card. For example, if you land on a Teaser square, answer a question from the Teaser category. Oh, and if you land on a square with dice, that means you get to roll the dice again.

If you answer the question right, you get to roll the dice again and keep going – you can even change the direction you’re moving (left or right) after each roll on your current level (see below for going up a level). You keep taking turns until you get one wrong, and then it’s the next person’s turn to play.

To go up a level, you have to land on a square that’s right under one of the arrows. If you get the question right, you can move your piece up to the next level and then roll the dice again to keep going on your new level (if you get the question wrong, you just stay where you are and it’s the next person’s turn).

Once you reach the top level square (with the Wit’s end logo), you draw a card – you don’t have to roll the dice. Before you look at the card, you have to choose which category you want to answer a question from – there are four categories to choose from.

If you get the answer right, you win the game. But if you get it wrong, you have to slide your playing pawn back down to the purple level, and your turn is over.

Cool Extra! / Oops! Features

Here’s a cool twist: on the back of some cards, you might find a Cool Extra! or Oops! feature.

These bring a bit of luck to the game (they aren’t related to how hard the question is). You might end up promoting or demoting yourself, or even one of your opponents! Just do what the card tells you to do.
