The Pieces

- I’ve got an awesome Uno Roboto unit
- I’ve got 112 cards with me

- I’ve also got some special cards:
- 8 Draw Two cards
- 8 Reverse cards
- 8 Skip cards
- 4 Wild cards
- 4 Wild Draw Four cards

All about playing Uno Robo
Let’s get to the important part. The goal is to be the first one to get rid of all your cards. It’s pretty simple, but I’ll explain the rules to you. Whenever it’s your turn, just play a card that matches the color or number of the top card. If you don’t have a matching card, there are some special cards you can play:
- If you play a Draw Two card, the next player has to draw two cards and skip their turn
- Playing a Reverse card changes the direction of play
- With a Skip card, you can skip the next player’s turn
- And if you play a Wild card, you can choose the color for the next player to match
- The Wild Draw Four card is even more powerful – not only can you choose the color, but the next player also has to draw four cards and skip their turn
- The House Rule cards add extra fun to the game with special rules that you and your friends can make up
Now that you know all the rules for Uno Robo, let’s get started and have some fun!

So, first things first, let me explain how to record your name and House Rule into the system. It’s actually super simple! Just hold down the button and start speaking. That’s right, all you have to do is talk, no need to type anything. How cool is that?
Now, let’s talk about the Green Repeat Button.

But wait, there’s more! The Green Repeat Button isn’t just for listening back to your own voice. It’s also perfect for playing back any House Rule that has been created. That way, everyone can hear the rule loud and clear, ensuring there’s no confusion. Plus, it’s a great way to have a little fun and get everyone excited!

Hey there! Let’s dive into the world of UNO Roboto and check out how to set it up and play the game.
Blue Win Button
When someone wins the game, press the Blue Win Button to celebrate their victory!
Setup
Deal the Cards.
First, let’s prepare the cards. Take out the 4 House Rule cards from the deck and keep them aside. Now, deal 7 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face down next to UNO Roboto to form a draw pile. Take the top card from the draw pile and put it face up in the tray on the unit’s head. This card will be the discard pile.
Remember: If any cards with symbols are turned over to start the discard pile, put them back in the draw pile and turn over another card.
Turn On UNO Roboto by moving the power switch to “on”.
All players record their names.
Record a Special House Rule.
What is a House Rule?
House Rules are extra rules that you can add to make the game even more exciting and unique. They can change the way you play UNO Roboto and add a twist to the game. You can create your own House Rule and record it for everyone to follow!
So there you have it! The setup is complete, and you’re ready to start playing UNO Roboto. Have fun and may the best player win!

Let’s Play the Game
When the game starts, UNO Roboto will choose a player to go first, and then we’ll take turns going clockwise around the table. We have to follow the regular UNO rules:
On your turn, you have to find a card in your hand that matches the card on top of the DISCARD pile. The matching can be based on the number, color, or symbol on the cards (symbols stand for Action Cards).
If you don’t have a card that matches the one on the DISCARD pile, you have to take a card from the DRAW pile. If the card you picked up can be played, you can put it down right away. But if not, it’s the next person’s turn.
If you don’t want to play a card from your hand, you must draw a card from the DRAW pile. If the card you draw is playable, you can put it down in the same turn. However, you can’t play any other cards from your hand after drawing.
Pressing the Discard Plate
When you place a card or cards on the DISCARD pile during normal play, press the Discard Plate once. UNO Roboto will beep to confirm. But don’t press the Discard Plate when discarding cards because of a Surprise Command (see below).

When UNO Roboto Talks
UNO Roboto likes to mix things up during your game. He may interrupt and give surprise commands or introduce special house rules just for you.
Surprise Commands
When UNO Roboto gives a surprise command, he’ll choose specific players and give them unique instructions.
- Sometimes he’ll ask one player to come up with a funny nickname for another player. Get creative and for the rest of the game, UNO Roboto will use that nickname!
- Other times, UNO Roboto will pick two players for a duel. Both players will race to complete a challenge, and the loser will have to draw 2 cards!
After a surprise command, UNO Roboto will announce the name of the player who should continue the game.
Hey there! I have an important message to share with you today. It’s about a cool game called Surprise Command. Ever heard of it?
Let me explain what’s so interesting about this game. You see, Surprise Command is not your average game. It’s like a magic trick with cards!
Here’s the deal: when you play a Surprise Command card and it ends up on the DISCARD pile, any new card that gets placed on top of it cancels out the previous card. So basically, the new card takes over and affects the player who continues the game.
Now, let’s break it down a bit. Imagine you’re playing the game and you have a Surprise Command card in your hand. You decide to play it and put it on the DISCARD pile. Bam! The card you just played has a special power. It cancels out any card it covers up. That means if there was a card under it on the pile, that card becomes irrelevant.
But wait, it gets even cooler! The Surprise Command card doesn’t just disappear. No, no. It still has an effect. It actually affects the player who resumes the game. So it’s kind of like a game of tag, where the Surprise Command card tags the next player and delivers its command to them.
So, to sum it up, when you play the Surprise Command card, the new card covering it cancels out whatever was underneath. And then, it affects the player who takes their turn next. It’s like a thrilling double feature in one!
Hope you found this explanation helpful. Have a blast playing Surprise Command!
Imagine this situation: Bob plays a WILD DRAW 4 and places it on the Discard pile. Suddenly, UNO Roboto interrupts with a Surprise Command – “Nicole, discard all your red cards! Jeff, it’s your turn to play”. At that moment, Nicole realizes she only has one red card left – a DRAW 2. She quickly places it on the DISCARD pile, covering Bob’s WILD DRAW 4 and canceling its effect. This means that no one has to draw 4 cards. Now, Jeff is up next to play. However, because a DRAW 2 is on top of the pile, he has to draw 2 cards.
Now, let’s imagine a different scenario. What if Nicole didn’t have any red cards left? In that case, she wouldn’t play anything and it would be Jeff’s turn. The WILD DRAW 4 would still be on top of the pile, forcing Jeff to draw 4 cards. Then, Bob would get to choose the color that continues play.
Just to change things up a bit, sometimes UNO Roboto will call out, “House Rule!” and introduce a special rule that you and your friends have recorded. It’s always unexpected and adds a fun twist to the game.
Hey there! I’ve got an exciting game to tell you about. It’s called UNO Roboto, and it’s a blast!
So here’s how it works: all the players race to complete a special House Rule. Sounds simple, right? Well, here’s the twist: the last player to finish the House Rule has to draw 2 cards. Talk about a challenge!
Now, after the House Rule is done, UNO Roboto comes alive! He randomly picks a player to keep the game going. How cool is that? It’s like having a high-tech game master right there with you.
Oh, and one more thing:
UNO Roboto has a Sleep Mode. After a minute of no activity, he’ll beep to let you know he’s getting ready to snooze. But don’t worry, you can keep him awake by pressing the Discard Plate. Just a little tap, and he’ll be wide awake.
Make sure you don’t let him power down, though. If he does, you’ll lose your current game. But don’t fret! Just tap the Discard Plate to bring him back to life and start again.

Get Excited about Special Cards!
Special cards are amazing! They add a touch of excitement and intrigue to any occasion. But what makes special cards so special? Let me tell you!
Special cards come in all shapes and sizes. There are cards for birthdays, holidays, and special milestones. Whether you’re celebrating a graduation, a new baby, or just want to say “I love you,” there’s a special card for every occasion.
When you receive a special card, it’s like getting a little piece of happiness in an envelope. The personalized messages inside make you feel loved and appreciated. They brighten your day and bring a smile to your face.
But special cards are more than just a pretty design and thoughtful message. They also have the power to create lasting memories. A special card is a tangible keepsake that you can hold onto for years to come. It serves as a reminder of the special moments and special people in your life.
There’s something magical about special cards. They have a way of capturing emotions and conveying them in a meaningful way. Whether it’s a heartfelt thank you or a heartfelt apology, special cards help us express our feelings when words alone fall short.
So the next time you’re looking for a way to celebrate or show someone you care, don’t underestimate the power of a special card. Trust me, it will make all the difference.
Now, go ahead and spread some joy with a special card. You won’t regret it!

Playing the Draw Two Card
When you play this card, you make things tough for the next person. They have to draw two cards and sit out their turn. But there’s a catch. You can only play this card if it matches the color of the previous card or if the previous card is another Draw Two card. It’s a sneaky strategy!

Turn the Tables
Hey there! When you play this awesome card, guess what happens? The person next in line has to go through a little setback. They’ll have to grab two extra cards from the deck and miss their turn too. But wait, there’s a catch! This card can only be played when either the color matches or when you lay it on another Draw Two card. Pretty cool, huh?

Skip Card
Hey there! When you use this card, the next player doesn’t get to take their turn. It’s like a magic spell that makes them lose a round. Cool, huh? You can only play this card on a card that matches the color, or on another Skip card. So, it’s super handy for giving yourself a little advantage. Watch your opponents squirm when you surprise them with a Skip card!

The Surprise Card
When you decide to play this card, guess what happens? The next player is in for a surprise because they will be “skipped” and lose their turn. Isn’t that sneaky? But remember, you can only put down this card if its color matches the top card or if there’s already a Skip card on the pile.

Wild Draw 4 Card
When I play this card, I get to pick the color for the game to continue, and the next player has to draw 4 cards from the deck and skip their turn.
But here’s the tricky part! I can only play this card if I don’t have any other cards in my hand that match the color on the card on top of the discard pile. (But it’s okay if I have cards with the same number or special actions as the top card)
Remember: If I suspect that someone played a Wild Draw 4 card on me illegally (meaning they actually have a matching card in their hand), I can challenge them.
The person I challenged has to show me their hand. If they’re guilty and have a matching card, they have to draw the 4 cards. But if they’re innocent and don’t have a matching card, I have to draw not just 4 cards, but an additional 2 cards as well (that’s a total of 6 cards)!

House Rule Card
Hey there! These cards aren’t used when we play, so we can take them out of the deck.
These reference sheets provide different examples of House Rules. If you’re having trouble creating your own House Rule, you can check out these cards and choose a rule to add.
Going Out
When you’re down to your last card, shout “UNO” to let everyone know you only have one card left. If you forget to say “UNO” and someone catches you before the next player starts their turn, you’ll need to draw two cards.
If a Surprise Command or a House Rule lets you discard all your remaining cards in one go, you have to discard each card individually and say “UNO!” after throwing away your second-to-last card. Please don’t press the Discard Plate when you’re getting rid of these cards.
When I play my last card, the game is over. I won’t press the Discard Plate – instead, I’ll press the blue win button. UNO Roboto will congratulate me if I win.
If none of us players run out of cards by the time the DRAW pile is empty, we’ll reshuffle the discard pile and continue playing.
End of the Game
I will be the winner if I’m the first player to play all of my cards and press the blue win button.
Playing Again
If I want to play again, all I have to do is push down on the Discard Plate. UNO Roboto won’t make me re-record my name.
However, he will ask one of us players to record a new House Rule. If I want to change the players, I have to turn UNO Roboto off and then on again.
