The Exciting Rules of UNO Power Grab Game
Let me tell you about the thrilling game called UNO Power Grab. This game is all about grabbing cards as fast as you can, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. There are some rules and strategies you need to understand to become a master at this game. So, let’s dive in and discover the secrets of UNO Power Grab!
Rules
UNO Power Grab is played with a deck of special cards. Each card has a unique power and gives you a chance to grab more cards from the center pile. The goal of the game is to collect as few cards as possible. The player with the fewest cards at the end wins, so you want to be fast and strategic.
Here are the key rules to remember:
- Shuffle the deck and deal 7 cards to each player.
- Place the remaining cards face-down in the center to create a draw pile.
- Turn over the top card from the draw pile to start the discard pile.
- The youngest player goes first.
- On your turn, play a card that matches the color or number of the top card on the discard pile.
- If you can’t play a card, you must draw a card from the draw pile.
- If you have a power card, you can use its special ability.
- If the power card allows you to grab cards, try to grab them as quickly as possible.
- Keep playing until one player has no cards left. That player wins!
Tips and Strategies
Now that you know the basic rules, let’s talk about some tips and strategies to help you win UNO Power Grab:
- Always pay attention to the top card on the discard pile. This will help you decide which card to play or if you need to draw.
- Use power cards strategically to gain an advantage. They can help you skip turns, reverse the direction of play, or even make other players draw more cards.
- Be quick when grabbing cards. The faster you grab, the more cards you can collect and the fewer cards your opponents will have.
- Try to keep a low card count. The fewer cards you have, the better your chances of winning.
- Keep an eye on your opponents’ cards. This will give you an idea of what cards they may have and allow you to plan your moves accordingly.
Now that you have all the information you need, it’s time to gather your friends or family and start playing UNO Power Grab. Remember, speed and strategy are key to winning this exciting game. Get ready to grab those cards and have a blast!

Let’s Take a Look at the Game
The goal of this game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. It’s a fast-paced game where you’ll need to make quick decisions and grab power along the way. Remember, you’ll also earn points for the cards your opponents are still holding. The player who reaches 500 points first is the winner!
Setting Up the Game
- Each player draws a card, and the player with the highest number becomes the dealer. If there’s an Action Card, count it as zero.
So, here’s what happens when we play the game. First, the dealer shuffles the deck and gives each player 7 cards. Then, they take the remaining cards and put them facedown in a slot called the Play Tray. This is our DRAW pile.
Next, we set up the four Power Towers next to the Play Tray. These towers are an important part of the game. Finally, we turn over the top card of the DRAW pile to start the DISCARD pile. This card goes face-up in the other slot of the Play Tray.
Oh, and just a quick note: if any cards with special symbols are turned over, they also go on the DISCARD pile. That’s it! Now we’re ready to start playing.
Let’s Play!
I’ll start the game as the dealer. Now it’s your turn!
When it’s your turn, you have to play a card from your hand that matches either the number, color, or symbol of the card on top of the DISCARD pile. Remember, symbols represent Action Cards!
For example, if the card on the discard pile is a red 7, you can play any red card or any color 7. If you have a Wild card, you can play that too!
Special Icons
Some of the Number Cards have special icons: U, N, O, and ! (exclamation point). You can’t match cards based on these special icons. Instead, match them by color or number, just like any other Number Card. If you have a card with a special icon, check out the power icons and power towers for more information.
If you don’t have a card that matches the one on the DISCARD pile, you gotta grab a card from the DRAW pile. If the card you grabbed can be played, you’re free to put it down in the same turn. If not, it’s the next person’s turn.
You can also choose not to play a card from your hand, even if it’s playable. In that case, you gotta draw a card from the DRAW pile. If it’s playable, you can put it down in the same turn, but you can’t play any other card from your hand after that.
Action Cards

Time to Draw a Card!
When you play this card, you can make the next player’s turn a bit more interesting. They’ll have to draw an extra card and miss their turn.
Remember, you can only play this card if it matches the color of the previous card or if it’s another Draw One card. And if this card shows up at the start of the game, the same rule applies.

Let’s Talk about the Draw Two Card
Hey there! Did you know about the amazing Draw Two card in the game? Well, let me tell you all about it.
When you play this card, something really cool happens. The player who goes next has to draw not one, but two cards! And guess what? They even miss their turn! Pretty neat, right?
But wait, there’s more! You can only play either of these cards on a matching color or on another Draw Two card. So you have to keep an eye out for the right moment to use it.
Oh, by the way, if the Draw Two card shows up right at the beginning of the game, the same rule applies. You still have to draw two cards and miss your turn. Talk about a double-edged sword!
So, next time you’re playing the game, keep the Draw Two card in mind. It’s a powerful card that can really spice things up and give you an advantage. Have fun!

Reverse Card
When you use the Reverse card, the game changes direction. For example, if it was going to the left, it now goes to the right, and if it was going to the right, it now goes to the left. You can only play this card if the color matches or if another Reverse card is already in play.
If the Reverse card is at the top of the deck when the game starts, the dealer will go first and then play will go to the right instead of the left.

Skip Card
Hey there, when you play this card, the person who goes next has to sit out and skip their turn. Pretty sneaky, huh? And just so you know, you can only play this card on a card that’s the same color as this Skip card or on another Skip card. Gotta keep things fair, right?
Oh, and get this: if a Skip card is the first one that gets flipped over, the player who’s to the left of the dealer is the one who gets skipped. And wanna know who starts the next round? Yep, the player who’s to the left of the one who got skipped. It’s all about playing it cool and keeping the game rolling.

Discover the Grab-2-Towers Card
When you play this awesome card, you have the power to seize any two Power Towers that catch your eye.
You can choose to grab the Power Towers from another player or snatch them from the unclaimed Power Towers next to the Play Tray. Or, if you want, you can mix it up and take a tower from each!
But wait, there’s a twist! You can only play this card on a matching color or on another Grab-2-Towers card. And if the dealer flips this card at the start of the game, the first player can’t grab any towers but can only match it by color.
Unleash the Wild Grab-a-Tower Card

When you play this card, you can choose any Power Tower you want. You can take it from another player or from the unclaimed Power Towers in the Play Tray.
This card is special because it’s a Wild card. You can decide which color to continue playing with. It can be any color, even the one that was being used before the Wild card was played.
If the dealer flips this card at the start of the game, the first player won’t get to take a Tower. However, they do get to choose the starting color for the game.
Wild Draw 4 Card

When you play this card, you get to pick which color comes next and make the next player draw 4 cards from the DRAW pile and skip their turn.
But hold on! You can only play this card if you don’t have any other card in your hand that matches the COLOR on the discard pile (although it’s okay if you have cards with matching numbers or Action Cards).
If this card is first revealed at the beginning of the game, put it back in the deck and choose a different card.
Hey, listen up! If you think that someone played a Wild Draw 4 card on you unfairly (meaning they had a matching card), you have the right to question them. I’m talking about a challenge, my friend. They’ve got to prove their innocence by revealing their hand to you. If they’re caught red-handed, they’ll have to pick up the dreaded 4 cards themselves, instead of you. But if they turn out to be innocent, brace yourself because now you have to pick up not just 4 cards, but an extra 2 cards as well. That’s a whopping 6 cards in total!
The Power Icons and Power Towers

I bet you’ve noticed those cool Power Icons on the Number Cards. They’re pretty awesome, right? Well, guess what? Those Power Icons actually match up with symbols on the Power Towers! There are four Power Icons in total, each of them appearing twice in each of the four color suits.
Now, here’s where things get interesting. When you play a card with a Power Icon on it, you get to claim the corresponding Power Tower as your very own. And get this, you can snatch a Power Tower even if another player already has it! Talk about a game-changer, right?
But wait, here’s something important to remember. The color of the Power Tower doesn’t have to match the color of the Power Icon card you played. Yep, you heard that right! It’s all about the matching symbols, not the colors.
Oh, and here’s another neat thing. Each Power Tower also has a symbol that represents an Action Card. And when you have a Power Tower, you’ve got some serious protection against that corresponding Action Card. So, if someone tries to play that Action Card against you, you have the power to block it. That’s right, you don’t have to do whatever crazy action that Action Card tells you to do. You can just say, “Nope!” and move on.
The Power Icons are the keys to ultimate success:

U: If you play a card with the “U” on it, you get the red “U” Power Tower. You’re safe from Draw One cards now!

Hey there! Are you familiar with the “N” card in the game? It’s a pretty neat one. When you play a card with the “N” on it, you get to grab the blue “N” Power Tower. This nifty tower gives you protection against those pesky Draw Two cards. Can you believe it? No more suffering from the draw two curse! With the blue “N” Power Tower on your side, you can keep those extra cards at bay. Awesome, right?

My Perspective: When you play a card with the “O” symbol, you get to grab the green “O” Power Tower. This neat gadget gives you the upper hand, shielding you from those pesky Wild Draw Four cards that can mess up your game.

Hey there! If you play a card with the “!” on it, you’ll score the yellow “!” Power Tower. This Tower will protect you from Skip cards.
When you block an Action Card with your Power Tower, treat it just like a regular color or Wild card and play it accordingly.
You’ll have the Power Tower’s protection as long as you have it. Even if you don’t end up blocking an Action Card, your opponents will be hesitant to play them against you!
Collect all four power towers
FOR Instant UNO! If you manage to gather all four Power Towers, you can discard all of your cards EXCEPT one (don’t forget to yell “UNO!” like in “Going Out”). Put all the Power Towers back in their neutral spot next to the Play Tray.
Let’s Go Out and Play!
Hey there! When you’re down to your second-to-last card in the game, don’t forget to shout “UNO”! It’s important because it means you only have one card left. If you forget to say “UNO” and someone catches you before the next player starts their turn, you’ll have to draw two more cards. Yikes!
Once a player gets rid of all their cards, the round is done, and it’s time to count up the points and start again.
If the last card played in a round is a Draw One, Draw Two, or Wild Draw Four card, the next player has to draw the specified number of cards. Make sure to remember those extra cards when adding up the points later!
If all the cards in the DRAW pile run out and nobody has emptied their hand yet, we’ll shuffle the discard pile and keep on playing. No stopping us!
Counting Up Those Points
Now it’s time to talk about scoring. The player who gets rid of all their cards in a round gets points for all the cards that their opponents still have in their hands. Here’s how the points work:
- Each number card (1-9): Has a face value.
- Draw One: Earns you 20 points.
- Draw Two: Earns you 20 points.
- Reverse: Earns you 20 points.
- Skip: Earns you 20 points.
- Grab-2-Towers: Earns you 50 points.
- Wild Grab-A-Tower: Earns you 50 points.
- Wild Draw Four: Earns you 50 points.
After adding up the scores for the round, if no one has reached 500 points, reshuffle the cards and start a new round.
