Triple Cross Game Rules
Welcome to Triple Cross, a game that will challenge your strategic thinking and decision-making skills! In this guide, I’ll explain the rules and provide you with some tips to help you excel at this exciting game.
First, let me introduce you to the game board. It consists of a 7×7 grid with 19 numbered game pieces. The objective is to strategically place these pieces on the board to create three complete lines, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, it’s not as easy as it seems!
To start the game, you and your opponent take turns placing one game piece on the board at a time. You can place your piece either horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. The catch is that when you place a piece, it must touch one or more previously placed pieces. This is where the strategy comes in – you need to carefully consider the placement of each piece to maximize your chances of completing three lines.
As you play, it’s important to pay attention to the numbering of the game pieces. Each piece is numbered from 1 to 19, and the numbers are important for creating lines. To create a complete line, you need to place pieces with consecutive numbers in the same row or column. For example, if you place a piece with the number 3, the next piece you place should have the number 4 or 2. This adds an extra layer of complexity and decision-making to the game.
Additionally, you should keep an eye out for opportunities to block your opponent. If you notice them getting close to completing a line, you can strategically place your pieces to disrupt their plans. This will keep the game dynamic and prevent your opponent from gaining an advantage.
As you play Triple Cross, remember to remain flexible and adapt your strategy as the game progresses. Each move you make can have far-reaching consequences, so it’s important to think ahead and anticipate your opponent’s moves. Also, don’t forget to have fun! Triple Cross is a game of strategy and skill, but it’s also an opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition.
Now that you understand the rules of Triple Cross, it’s time to put your skills to the test! Gather a friend, set up the game board, and may the best strategist win. Good luck and have a blast playing Triple Cross!

Hey there! I’m excited to tell you all about this awesome game called Triple Cross. Here’s what you’ll find in the game box: a Plastic Triple Cross Tower Unit with Base, two sets of Plastic Colored Discs (12 Orange, 12 Green), 8 Plastic Blockers (4 Orange, 4 Green), and a Rulebook to guide you through the fun. Are you ready to dive in?
How to Win the Game
The main goal in Triple Cross is to score more “Triple Crosses” than your opponent. A “Triple Cross” is a line of three Discs of the same color. It’s all about strategy, so think carefully!
Let’s Set Up the Game
To get started, place the Grid onto the Base. Each player should have 12 Discs and 4 Blockers of the same color. Now we’re ready to have some fun!
How to Play
Now comes the exciting part – game play! Each player takes turns placing their Discs onto the Grid to create their “Triple Crosses.” But be careful, because your opponent will be trying to do the same thing. Use your Blockers strategically to block their moves and protect your Triple Crosses.

- When you play, you and your opponent will take turns putting discs into the grid.
- The discs can be put in from either side.
- If a row already has a disc in the first position and you put another disc in, the first disc will move up and go to the middle position. There are eight rows in total where the discs can be placed from either side.

Blockers
Each player has a set of 4 Blockers. Blockers can be used to prevent Rows from being filled. Until a Row is blocked, Discs can be placed to push out an existing Disc from a filled Row, if desired.
Scoring
When I play this game called Triple Cross, scoring is simple. I just have to remember a few things. Let me explain!
First, let’s talk about what counts as a point. Each Triple Cross of three Discs will give me 1 point. It’s important to know that a Triple Cross can be either diagonal or vertical. What that means is that if I have three Discs in a row of the same color, it doesn’t count as a Triple Cross and I won’t score a point for it. So, I need to make sure that the three Discs are forming a cross, not just a row.
Now, here’s an interesting thing. A Triple Cross can share Discs from another set of the same color. This means that if I have three Discs forming a cross, and one of those Discs is also part of another three Discs in a different direction, it still counts as a Triple Cross and I’ll score a point for it. It’s like the Disc is doing double duty!
So, to summarize, to score a point in Triple Cross, I need to have three Discs forming a cross, either diagonally or vertically. And if one of those Discs is also part of another cross, I’ll score a point for that too. It’s all about finding those Triple Crosses and maximizing my points!
Wrapping Up the Game
Once all the Discs have been played, it’s time to calculate your scores. You earn one point for each diagonal and vertical Triple Cross.
The winner is the player with the most total points.
If there’s a tie, don’t fret! Just play another round as a tiebreaker and determine the ultimate champion!
