Welcome to The Censored Game!
Get ready for a game that is equal parts challenging and fun. I’m here to guide you through the rules, so you can start playing right away.
Objective:
Your objective is simple: be the first player to reach the end of the game board. But there’s a twist – you have to navigate through a series of challenges while keeping your language clean!
Game Board:
The game board consists of a winding path with different spaces. Each space represents a challenge or obstacle you must overcome. There are also “Censorship” spaces scattered throughout the board, which can either help you or hinder your progress.
Challenge Cards:
During the game, you will draw Challenge Cards. These cards will present you with a word or phrase that you must describe or act out without using certain “taboo” words listed at the bottom of the card. This is where your creativity and quick thinking will come into play!
Example:
Let’s say you draw a Challenge Card that asks you to describe the word “elephant” without saying “animal”, “trunk”, or “grey”. You would have to come up with alternative ways to describe an elephant, like mentioning its large size or its presence in the circus.
Censorship Spaces:
When you land on a “Censorship” space, you will pick a Censorship Card. These cards can either help you or throw you off track. Some cards may allow you to skip a challenge, while others may impose additional restrictions on your gameplay.
Winning the Game:
The first player to reach the end of the game board is the winner! However, there is one last challenge to overcome. The winning player must draw a Final Challenge Card and successfully complete it to be crowned the ultimate champion of The Censored Game!
Get Started:
Now that you know the rules, it’s time to gather your friends, set up the game board, and let the fun begin. Remember to stay creative, think on your feet, and most importantly, have a blast playing The Censored Game!

First, let’s get ready to play the game by separating the CHALLENGE and CENSORED cards into two decks and placing them face down.
Next, we need to divide all the players into two teams. It doesn’t matter how many players are on each team, as long as there are at least two players on each team.
Now, we have to decide which team will take the first turn.
How to Play

- So here’s the deal: one person from the team becomes the performer, and they get to draw a CHALLENGE card from the deck.

Rules for performing clues
Drawing

When it comes to being a performer, one important skill we use is drawing. We grab a pencil or pen and a piece of paper and start creating. But it’s not just about drawing anything we want. There are rules we have to follow.
First, we can’t write words, letters, or numbers. It’s all about drawing, not writing. We have to use pictures to express ourselves.
Second, we can’t speak or point to things that are not drawn. This means we have to rely solely on our drawings to communicate with others.
The Art of Performing

When I’m up on stage, I can’t utter a word or even use sign language to indicate certain letters or words. It’s a challenging restriction, but one I must adhere to as a performer.
However, sign language can be used for numbers, as long as the phrase doesn’t contain a number itself (like 69, for example). It’s a small loophole that allows me to communicate a numerical message to the audience.
Another rule I must follow is that I can only use an object as a prop when it’s specifically required by a CENSORED card. It adds an exciting element to the performance and forces me to be creative with the limited resources I have.
But the real challenge lies in speaking.

When I’m playing the challenging game, there are a few rules that I need to keep in mind. The first thing is that I can’t say any of the words or parts of the words that are written in white on the challenge card. This includes any word or phrase that I’m trying to guess. So, I need to be careful with my words and make sure I don’t accidentally give away the answer.
Another rule is that I can’t use any gestures or pointing to help me communicate. I have to rely solely on my words and descriptions. This makes the game even more challenging because I have to find creative ways to convey my thoughts without using my hands.
Lastly, I’m not allowed to spell out the word or intentionally rhyme words to make it easier for the guesser. This adds an extra level of difficulty because I have to think of alternative ways to give clues without relying on obvious wordplay.
Wild Cards

When I’m a performer and I draw a WILD card, I have the power to choose any card from the deck that I want to perform.
Once I’ve chosen my new card, I shuffle the WILD card back into the deck.
The Game Ends
The team that manages to collect seven CHALLENGE cards first is the winner!
Variants
Cooperative Play
In this version of the game, we all work together as one team. Our goal is to earn seven CHALLENGE cards in a row, without any failures.
We take turns being the performer. If we fail to guess a phrase or if the performer doesn’t follow the rules, the game ends.
Hardcore
Welcome to a new twist on the game! Instead of earning seven cards, this variation challenges you to earn twelve. It’s a bit more of a challenge, but it adds an extra layer of fun to the game.
Self-censored
In this version, you and the other players get to decide which cards you want to use. You can remove any cards that you think might not be suitable for your group. The cards that you keep will be the ones that the performers have to draw from during the game. It’s a way to customize the game to fit your preferences.
Uncensored Play
If you want to kick things up a notch, you can try the Uncensored variation. In this version, you have to act, speak, and draw according to the dirty meanings, slang, and innuendos mentioned on the CHALLENGE cards. It’s all about embracing your naughty side and adding some spice to the game.
Here’s the catch: if a performer sticks to the “clean” or literal meaning instead of going for the naughty interpretation, they forfeit the CHALLENGE card, and play moves on to the next team. So, in this version, being a little bit naughty is a must!
