Sushi Draft Game Rules
I want to talk to you about an awesome card game called Sushi Draft. Let me show you how to play!
First, I want to tell you about some basic game terms that you’ll need to understand. These terms will help you make sense of the rules and strategies.
The game is played with a deck of sushi cards. Each card represents a type of sushi, like nigiri, maki, or sashimi. Each type of sushi card has a point value and a unique ability.
The goal of the game is to earn the most points by collecting sushi cards. You can do this by drafting cards from the deck and building a hand of delicious sushi.
To start the game, shuffle the deck of sushi cards and deal a hand of seven cards to each player. The remaining cards form a draw pile in the center of the table.
On your turn, you have two options. You can either draft a card from the draw pile or play a set of cards from your hand.
To draft a card, simply take the top card from the draw pile and add it to your hand. Easy, right?
To play a set of cards, you need to follow a special rule. The cards in the set must have either the same type or the same point value. For example, you can play a set of three nigiri cards, or a set of three cards worth five points each.
When you play a set of cards, you score points based on the point values of the cards in the set. The more valuable the cards, the more points you earn.
But be careful! Some sushi cards have special abilities that can affect the game. For example, the wasabi card triples the point value of the next nigiri card you play. And the soy sauce card allows you to swap a card from your hand with a card from the draw pile.
The game continues until all the cards have been drafted and played. At the end of the game, each player counts the points earned from their sets of cards. The player with the most points wins!
So, now that you know the rules, are you ready to play Sushi Draft? Get ready to build the best sushi hand and become the ultimate sushi chef!

How to Play the Game
Playing games can be a lot of fun, but it’s also important to understand how to play them properly to get the most out of the experience. So, let’s take a look at some key elements of game play that you should know about.

When we play the game, we go through three rounds. In each round, we have to pick 5 Sushi Cards to eat and score points.
It’s important to note that all players play at the same time.
Let me break down each round for you:
- Shuffle: First, we shuffle all the Sushi Cards and deal 6 cards face-down to each player. The rest of the cards are put aside for now.
- Eat: Next, we have to choose one card from our hand to eat. We place it face-down in front of us, and this card will earn us points at the end of the round.
- Reveal: Once all players have made their choices, we flip up and reveal the card we picked. We keep this card face-up in front of us for scoring later.
- Keep: Finally, we get to choose one card to keep in our hand. We temporarily set it aside facedown.
How to Play Sushi Go!
Hello there! Today I want to talk to you about a fun and exciting card game called Sushi Go! In this game, we get to enjoy the delicious world of sushi while competing to get the most points. Are you ready? Let’s dive in!
Here’s how to play:
- First, shuffle and deal the cards. Each player will get a hand of cards that they can look at. These cards represent different types of sushi.
- Take a look at the cards in your hand. Choose one card that you want to keep for yourself, and place it face-down in front of you.
- Once everyone has chosen a card, reveal them at the same time.
- Now, pass the rest of your cards to the player on your left. They will add those cards to the one they chose to keep, creating a new hand.
- Repeat steps 2 to 4 until each player has only one card left in their hand. That card is discarded, and the round ends. Keep in mind that the sixth and final Sushi Card is not scored.
Scoring
After each round, it’s time to determine the scores. Here’s how it works:
- Give the top Scoring Chip from each pile to the player who ate the most of that type of sushi. So if you have the most Nigiri cards, you get the Nigiri Scoring Chip!
- There’s also a special dessert Scoring Chip. This one goes to the player who ate the most different types of sushi. So if you have the most variety, you’ll get the dessert Scoring Chip.
In the case of a tie, the Scoring Chip goes to the player in second position. If there’s still a tie, it will go to the next player, and so on.
And there you have it! That’s how you play Sushi Go! It’s a fast-paced and exciting card game that is sure to bring lots of enjoyment. So gather your friends and family, and let the sushi feast begin!

I’ll show you how to distribute Scoring Chips for one round.

If you haven’t eaten a certain type of sushi, or if all players are still tied after using the tie breaker rule, then the Scoring Chip for that type is not given out this round.
You can keep your Scoring Chips facedown, but you can secretly look at their values. The numbers on the chips show how many points you’ll get at the end of the game.
Wild Cards
You can play Wild Cards to copy any type of sushi as long as you’ve already eaten at least one card of that type earlier this round. Put the Wild Card on top of the Sushi Card that it’s copying, and you can’t change it for the rest of the round.
Remember: You need to decide which type of sushi you’re eating BEFORE you reveal your Wild Card. You can’t wait and see what other players are eating and then decide.
