Snap: The Interlocking Dragon-Making Game Rules
Hey there! Ever heard of Snap? It’s this awesome game where you get to create your very own dragons. How cool is that? Let me tell you all about the rules so you can start playing right away!
The game involves interlocking pieces that form different parts of a dragon. Each piece represents either the head, body, or tail of a dragon. Can you imagine all the unique dragons you can create by combining these pieces? It’s like having your own dragon workshop!
Here’s how it works. At the beginning of the game, you’ll shuffle the deck of dragon cards and deal them face-down to all the players. Make sure everyone has an equal number of cards. Now the fun begins!
The first player will turn over their top card and place it face-up in the center. The next player will do the same, placing their card next to the first one. If the two cards have matching dragon body parts, like a head, body, or tail, it’s time to shout “Snap!” and grab the dragon piece that completes the set.
Remember, you have to be lightning-fast with your reflexes to be the first to grab the piece. You don’t want your opponents to beat you to it!
Once you’ve grabbed the dragon piece, add it to your collection. The game continues in this way, with players taking turns revealing cards until there are no more cards left.
At the end of the game, count how many complete dragons you’ve collected. The player with the most complete dragons wins the game! It’s all about being quick, observant, and having a little bit of luck on your side.
Snap is such an exciting game to play with friends and family. You’ll never get tired of creating unique dragons and competing to be the best dragon collector. So what are you waiting for? Gather your fellow dragon enthusiasts and start snapping those cards!
Remember, the next time you’re looking for a fun and engaging game, Snap will never disappoint. It’s an adventure of interlocking dragons like no other. Get ready to let your imagination soar and become the ultimate dragon master. Happy snapping!

What is a snap?
Hey there! Before we dive into the game, let me tell you what a Snap is. It’s like when two or more tiles fit perfectly together, just like pieces of a puzzle.
There are different ways to snap the tiles:

Hey there! Let me break down the instructions for you. So, we’ve got this text and we need to give it a makeover. Sounds fun, right? We want to keep the same meaning but make it easier to understand, like talking to a friend. Oh, and we need to keep all this fancy HTML stuff as it is. Challenge accepted!
Have you ever seen those directions with a white line? You know, the ones that show you how things connect? Well, that’s what we’ve got here. These directions are pretty important when it comes to snapping things together.
Imagine you’re building something, and you need to put all the pieces in the right place. It’s like solving a puzzle! These directions help you do that. They show you how the different parts fit together, like puzzle pieces clicking into place.
But here’s the thing: these directions may look a little confusing at first. Don’t worry, though! Once you understand how to read them, it’s smooth sailing. You just need to be patient and pay attention.
When you’re looking at these directions, remember that they’re like a map. They guide you from one place to another. Instead of streets and buildings, though, you’ll see symbols and shapes. Each symbol represents a different thing, like a button or a slider.
If you’re not sure what a symbol means, don’t panic! There’s usually a legend or a key that explains what each symbol represents. It’s like getting a secret code deciphered.
Now, let me tell you a little secret: understanding these directions can be a little tricky at first. But once you get the hang of it, it’s like solving a puzzle or playing a game. It actually becomes kind of fun!
So, the next time you come across these directions with the white line, don’t be intimidated. Take a deep breath, give yourself some time to figure it out, and soon enough, you’ll be snapping things together like a pro!
And there you have it, my friend. I hope this new version of the text makes it easier for you to understand. Remember, these directions are like a puzzle waiting to be solved. So go out there and start snapping things together!

Have you ever played a game where you have to match up colored tiles? It can be a challenge to make sure they all line up correctly. Not only that, but you also need to consider the colors in each direction. I remember playing a game like this, and it was quite perplexing!
The challenge with matching tiles is that color coordination is essential. You need to ensure that the colors on the tiles match up in all directions. This means that not only do the colors need to match side by side, but they also need to match up from top to bottom.
Imagine having a blue tile next to a yellow tile. In order to make a match, you need to have another blue tile either above or below the yellow tile. It’s not just about the colors next to each other, but also the colors above and below.
Matching tiles can be a real burst of fun, but it can also be quite challenging. If you’re not careful, you might end up with a board that doesn’t have any matching tiles left. That can be quite frustrating!
So, how do you solve this colorful puzzle? The key is to pay attention to the colors and how they line up in all directions. Make sure that each tile has a matching color on all sides and is part of a larger color-coordinated pattern.
Another important aspect to keep in mind is that snapped tiles must match up color to color in all directions. This means that if you have a purple square tile, it needs to have other purple square tiles either next to it, above it, or below it. There should be a continuous chain of matching colors.
In conclusion, matching colored tiles can be a perplexing yet burst of a challenge. You need to carefully consider the colors in all directions and make sure they line up correctly. It’s a game that requires both thought and strategy, but it can also be a lot of fun. So, why not give it a try?
Game I: Snap
This is a cool game for 2 to 4 players. Suitable for ages 10 and up.
How to Win
The goal of the game is to earn the most points by completing dragons.
Getting Ready
First, choose someone to keep track of the scores. Then, mix up all the tiles and place them face-down in a pile that everyone can reach.
Next, give each player three tiles face-down. You can look at your own tiles, but don’t let anyone else see them! Lastly, flip over the top tile from the pile and put it in the middle of the play area.
Playing the Game
The youngest player starts and the game proceeds clockwise. On your turn, pick one tile from your hand and snap it onto any tile already in play. The tiles must fit together tightly and match the colors (check out “What’s a Snap?” on the first page for valid moves).
When you finish creating a dragon, count the points and keep track of your score. Then, replenish your hand by drawing a new tile from the stack, so you always have three tiles to play with.
Creating Dragons
Whenever you manage to finish a dragon during your turn, you earn points based on how long the dragon is. To count as complete, the dragon must have matching colors and at least one head and one tail.
A dragon can have more than one head or tail, but it can’t earn you any points if it’s missing a head or tail! Additionally, completed dragons cannot have any loose parts that don’t connect to a tail or head.
Scoring Points
Hey there! Let me break it down for you. When I complete a dragon in a single Snap, I earn one point. Simple as that!
![]() 1 Snap = 1 point |
But wait, there’s more! If I manage to complete a dragon with multiple Snaps, each Snap I use in the dragon is worth a whopping 2 points. Talk about exciting!
So, here’s something interesting: did you know that you could potentially finish more than one dragon in a single turn? Crazy, right?
Tigers
When someone mentions tigers, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder. Tigers are magnificent creatures, known for their beauty, strength, and grace. These incredible beings captivate our imagination and spark a deep curiosity within us.
Tigers are native to various parts of Asia, including countries like India, Russia, and China. They are part of the scientific classification called Panthera tigris. This classification includes several different subspecies, such as the Bengal tiger, the Siberian tiger, and the Sumatran tiger.
If you’re looking for a symbol of power and awe, look no further than the tiger. Tigers have long been associated with strength and dominance. They are the largest of all big cats and have an athletic build that sets them apart. Their striking orange fur, dark stripes, and piercing eyes make them truly remarkable creatures.
But tigers are more than just visually stunning; they possess incredible physical abilities as well. They are excellent swimmers and climbers, allowing them to move effortlessly through their diverse habitats. With their muscular bodies and powerful jaws, they can bring down prey many times their size.
However, it’s important to remember that tigers are endangered species. Their populations have dramatically declined due to various factors, including poaching and habitat loss. As a result, it is crucial for us to take action to protect them and conserve their habitats. By following sustainable practices and supporting conservation efforts, we can help preserve these majestic creatures for future generations.
In conclusion, tigers are truly extraordinary animals. Their beauty, strength, and grace are unmatched in the animal kingdom. However, they are also a vulnerable species, and it is our responsibility to ensure their survival. Let’s appreciate their magnificence and work together to protect them and their habitats.

Did you know that in the game, there are three special tiles called tigers? Tigers are really important because they have special abilities that can help you score more points. Let me explain how they work:
When you have a tiger tile in your hand, you can play it on a valid space on the board. This will not only give you points for the tiger tile itself but also let you re-score any completed dragons that it is directly next to. So, it’s like a double score!
But that’s not all! If there is already a tiger tile on the board, you have another chance to score big. If you can complete a dragon by adding a tile next to the tiger tile, you will get double the points for that dragon. That’s pretty cool, right?
Here are some tips to make the most of your tigers:
- Just like dragon tiles, you can snap tigers vertically or horizontally. You can even snap them across one snap or multiple snaps. But remember, tigers can only be snapped to connections without dragon segments.
- When it comes to scoring, remember that completed dragons count if any part of their body – the head, middle, or tail – is directly next to a tiger tile. So, keep an eye out for those opportunities.
When you draw a tiger tile in the game, you can play it whenever it seems like the best time to do so.
If you want to earn a really high score, try to connect your tiger tile to multiple dragons.
Playing a tiger tile from your hand: In this example, the player placed her tiger tile and earned 11 points. The existing red dragon had 5 snaps, which is equal to 10 points. The yellow dragon beneath the tiger was worth 1 point. Since the tiger tile was connected to both completed dragons, she scored all of the original points again.
Playing a tiger tile that is already on the board: This player completed a green dragon that was connected to a tiger, earning 8 points.

I get 2 snaps for each of the 2 points, which adds up to 4 points. And if the tiger is there, then you get an extra 2 points, so your total score would be 6 points.
When the Game Ends
Keep playing until all the tiles have been used up, and then count up the scores. The player with the most points is the winner.
Some Notes and Tips
- Take your time during your turn and consider all the possible moves you could make with your tiles. However, once you place a tile on the board, you can’t move it again.
- Remember to use your tiles for both defensive and offensive strategies.
Variations to Try
Instead of dealing 3 tiles to each player at the start of the game, you could stack the tiles into several facedown piles within everyone’s reach.
On your turn, you would then draw just 1 tile from the top of any stack and play it on the game board.
Game 2: Double Snap
For 2 to 4 players. Ages 6 and up.
What You’re Trying to Do
The game is all about being the first player to use up all your tiles. To get started, shuffle the tiles and give the same amount to each player. Keep your tiles face down in front of you.
Now, the youngest player gets the ball rolling, and the game goes clockwise. When it’s your turn, grab the top tile from your stack and connect it to any tile already in play. (The first player just turns her top tile face up in the middle area where the game is happening). Make sure the colors match up in every direction.
But hold on, there’s a rule. You can’t add a tile that completes a dragon without a head or tail. Dragons that are finished can have lots of heads and tails, but they need to have at least one of each. For examples, check out page three.
Oh, one more thing. If you have two tiles in your hand that you can play, you get to snap them both down at once. It’s like a special move that gives you an edge.
Hey there! Let’s talk about double snaps. So, what is a double snap, you ask? Well, it’s when you make two connections using the same tile. Pretty cool, right? The best part is, if you make a double snap, you get to go again! It’s like getting a bonus turn!
Now, there are two kinds of double snaps you can make. The first kind is when you connect two tiles of the same color. For example, you might connect two red tiles or two blue tiles. It’s like making a match, but twice as nice!
The second kind of double snap is when you connect two tiles of different colors. So, let’s say you connect a red tile and a blue tile. That’s a double snap too! It’s like mixing things up and creating a colorful explosion!
So, the next time you’re playing a game and you see the opportunity for a double snap, go for it! You’ll get an extra turn and have even more fun. Give it a try and see what kind of double snaps you can make. Happy gaming!
Triple Snaps
Hey there! Let’s talk about a cool move in the game called Triple Snaps. It’s all about making connections and getting ahead of the competition!
So, here’s the deal: if you can make three different connections using the same tile, or if you cleverly complete a dragon that stretches over three or more tiles, something special happens. You get to hand over the top tile from your stack to another player of your choice. Pretty neat, huh?
Imagine the satisfaction of not only making a great play but also getting the chance to spice things up for someone else. It’s like a secret weapon hidden up your sleeve!
Triple Snaps is all about strategic thinking and taking risks. You have to pay attention to the tiles in play, watching for opportunities to connect and complete dragons. By doing so, you can surprise your opponents and shake up the game.
Remember, Triple Snaps can be a game-changer. It’s a move that can turn the tables and give you an edge, so keep an eye out for those connecting possibilities. If you can master this move, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a seasoned player who always keeps their opponents guessing.

Tigers
Did you know that tigers are considered incredibly lucky? When you come across a tiger tile, place it on the board and get another turn. How fortunate!
End of the Game
Guess what? The player who uses up all their tiles first is the ultimate champion. What an exciting way to end the game!

Variation: If you want to make the game easier, you can also complete dragons using only the heads.
Game 3: Dragon Parade
For 2-3 players. Ages 8 & up
What You Need to Do
Your goal is to make as many dragons of your color as possible.
Setting Up
First, each player picks a different color – red, yellow, or green – to represent their dragons.
Then, shuffle all the tiles and place them face down where everyone can reach them. Flip over the top tile and put it face up in the middle of the playing area to start the game.
How to Play
The youngest player takes the first turn, and play continues clockwise. On your turn, pick the top tile from the stack and attach it to any tile that’s already on the board. (Take a look at “What’s a Snap?” on the first page to see where you’re allowed to place the tile.)
When I’m playing this game, I try to strategically place my tiles to either complete or continue a dragon of my chosen color. If I can’t connect pieces of a dragon in my color, I still have to play my tile – even if it ends up helping another player build their dragon.
Just keep in mind: The dragons that count for points must be completed and match in color. They also need to have at least one head and one tail. It’s okay if they have multiple heads or tails, but you won’t score any points for a dragon that doesn’t have a head or a tail!
Oh, and one more thing – the completed dragons can’t have any parts that trail off without connecting to a head or a tail. So, make sure everything is connected nicely.
Tigers
If you have tiger tiles, you can use them to block your opponents from completing a dragon. When you flip over a tiger tile, you can play it on the board and take another turn right away.
End of the Game
Once all the tiles have been used up, it’s time to count up the completed dragons on the board and see who’s got the most points!
Hey there! Let me tell you all about a cool game called Dragon Snaps. It’s super fun, and I think you’ll love it!
The Goal:
The whole point of Dragon Snaps is to complete as many dragons as you can. The player with the most completed dragons is the big winner. But what if there’s a tie? Well, in that case, the player who completed the longest dragon wins. How do you measure a dragon’s length, you ask? Easy-peasy! Just count the number of Snaps it has.
A Little Change:
If you want to make the game a bit easier, you can complete dragons using only their heads. See, simple!
For example:
Game 4: Dragon King
