When I’m playing a game with another person or another team, we only need two sets of chips.

But if there are three players, we need three sets of chips.

A Sequence is when you have four of the same colored chips that are connected either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally on the game board.

The goal of the game:

The goal is for one player or team to get ONE SEQUENCE before the other players or teams do.

How to set up the game:

First, you need to place the game board on a flat surface. Make sure there is enough room around the board for the draw deck of cards, chips, and discards for each player.

If there are 4 players divided into 2 teams, make sure the teams take turns and sit opposite each other around the board.

The dealer shuffles the cards and gives the same number of cards to each player.

When it’s my turn to play, I pick a card from my hand and lay it face-up on the discard pile. I make sure everyone can see it! Then, I say the letter on my card out loud.

Here’s the fun part: I get to put one of my chips on a picture on the game board that begins with the same letter as the one on my card. I have to match the color of the picture with the color on my card, too.

There are two pictures on the game board for each letter, see the ALPHABET GUIDE below for help. If someone already has a chip on the picture I want, I have to choose a different one!

Now, here’s a rule: if I put a chip on a spot, no one can take it off, except me. But, if someone plays an ‘X’ card, they can take any chip off the game board, even mine!

When I play the game, I get to draw one card from the draw deck, and then it’s the end of my turn. There are two special cards in the deck called ‘X’ cards and two called ‘Z’ cards. If I want to play a ‘Z’ card, I have to put it on my discard pile and place one of my chips on any open space on the game board. If I want to play an ‘X’ card, I put it on my discard pile and take one of my opponent’s chips off the game board. But I can’t put one of my chips on that same space during this turn. If I have a card in my hand that I can’t play because both spaces for that card are already covered by chips, I can trade it in for a new card.

When it’s my turn, I can place a dead card from my hand onto my discard pile. I’ll need to announce that I’m turning in a dead card and then I’ll get a replacement card. I can only do this once per turn. After that, I can play my normal turn.

I’m going to win, and here’s how! When we run out of cards, we shuffle all the ones we’ve discarded to make a new deck. Keep playing in a circle until someone gets a sequence, and then they’re the winner! Let’s do this!
