When I land on the Jail space, I have to move my token to the Jail immediately. Oh no, no $200 for passing GO! And darn it, my turn is over.

But don’t fret! Even though I’m in Jail, I can still do a few things. I can collect payment, bid during auctions, buy Bases and Headquarters, sideline (mortgage) heroes, and even trade.

How can I get out of Jail?

Well, I have 3 options. Let’s check them out:

1. I can pay $50 at the start of my next turn. Once I pay up, I can roll the dice and move like normal.
2. If I have a Get Out of Jail Free card, I’m in luck! I can use it at the start of my next turn to get out of Jail. If I don’t have one, I can always buy it from another player. After using the card, I’ll put it back in the deck, and then I can roll the dice and move.
3. Here’s a chance for some luck! If I roll doubles on my next turn, I’m free! Finally! I can use that roll to move, and my turn ends. But wait, there’s a catch. If I don’t roll doubles by my third turn in Jail, I’ll have to pay $50 and use my last roll to move. So, I better try my best to roll doubles within those 3 turns.

No Buildings Left to Buy?

In this situation, you won’t be able to buy any buildings until someone decides to sell theirs back.

But before you can sell or trade a hero, you gotta sell all the buildings in a color set back to the Bank. Oh, and just to be clear, you can’t sell or trade buildings to other players.

A. Try to Get Some Money

If you owe money but can’t afford to pay it off, there are a few things you can do to raise some cash. You can sell some of the buildings you own back to the Bank, or you can sideline (mortgage) your heroes.

Selling Buildings

Sell Headquarters to the Bank for half the cost price, then use that money to immediately get 4 Bases. Sell the Bases to the Bank for half the cost price. Make sure to sell the Bases evenly across the color set.

Now, let’s talk about how to sideline (mortgage) Heroes. To sideline a Hero, you need to sell all the buildings in their color set to the Bank for half their cost price.

To sideline a Hero, turn their Hero card facedown and collect the sideline value on the back from the Bank. If you want to reactivate a sidelined Hero, you have to pay the cost shown on the card to the Bank, and then turn the card faceup again.

Remember, you can’t collect any money from sidelined Heroes. But you can collect the increased payment from active Heroes in a color set.

This same rule applies to Winter Soldier and Black Panther. You can collect their increased payment in the same way.

B. So, if you’re still stuck in debt, that means you’re completely broke and out of the game, my friend.

Here’s the deal, do you happen to owe another player some money?

Well, you’re gonna have to give them all your sidelined heroes and any Get Out of Jail Free cards you might have.

Now, the new owner of those heroes has two options:

• They can reactivate the hero by paying the Bank the cost that’s shown on the card.
• Or, they can choose to keep the heroes on the sideline, but they must pay the Bank just 10% of that original cost right now.

But wait! What if you owe the Bank instead?

In that case, you gotta return all your heroes back to the Bank. And guess what? Any sidelined heroes you had are immediately reactivated. Oh, and one more thing – all your heroes’ allegiances have to be put up for auction right away.

And don’t forget, put any Get Out of Jail Free cards you have back into the proper deck. The game, though, keeps going until there’s only one player left standing.
