I. Try to Raise Money

If you find yourself in a sticky situation where you owe money but can’t pay up, don’t fret! There’s a way out. First, try to raise some cash by selling buildings back to the Royal Treasury or mortgage your properties.

Selling Buildings

Here’s a neat trick: you can sell those fancy Castles to the Royal Treasury at the same price you bought them for. But wait, there’s more! As soon as you sell, you get 4 Holdfasts in return. It’s a win-win!

Sell “Holdfasts” to the Royal Treasury for half the cost price. Round up if needed. Holdfasts must be sold evenly across the color set.

To mortgage, flip the Title Deed card facedown and get the mortgage value from the back from the Royal Treasury.

To repay a mortgage, pay the unmortgage cost to the Royal Treasury and then flip the card faceup.

You cannot collect rent on mortgaged properties. However, you can collect the increased rent level on unmortgaged locations in a color set.
