All About the Cards

Hey there! Let’s dive into the world of Cards and uncover their secrets together. Prepare to have your mind blown!

You know, each Card is an enigma waiting to be unraveled. And guess what? There’s more than meets the eye. Every Card holds multiple answers, and the color it’s adorned with gives you a hint about the number of correct answers it possesses. How cool is that?

  • No Sweat (yellow): If you can come up with 3 or 4 answers, you’re doing great!
  • Breaking a Sweat (purple): If you can come up with 5 or 6 answers, you’re really challenging yourself!
  • Cold Sweat (blue): If you can come up with 7 or more answers, you’re a total pro!

Let’s Get Started!

When you want to play the game, here’s what you need to know:

  • The game owner’s team gets to go first, and the oldest player on each team becomes the captain for the first round.
  • Someone from the other team selects a card that matches the color of the space your team’s pawn is on. For example, if your pawn is on a yellow space, they’ll choose a yellow “No Sweat” card.
  • The person who picked the card reads out the topic at the top. For example, they might say something like: “Name 4 months that have exactly 30 days.”
  • Now it’s the captain’s turn to decide the order in which everyone on their team will answer.
  • Each teammate can only give one answer at a time.
  • The first teammate chosen will give their answer first, then the second teammate, and so on. If you need four answers but only have three teammates, the first person will answer again after the others have taken their turns.

When it’s your turn to answer, you have two choices: Know It or Blow It! If you know the right answer, just say it out loud. If you’re correct, your teammate will answer next. But if you don’t know the answer, there are two options for you:

1. You can make a guess. But be careful! If you’re wrong, the other team will shout “You Blew It!” and your team won’t get any points for that round.

2. You can say “Don’t Know It!” This ends your team’s turn, but you still earn points for any previous correct answers. (Learn more about scoring below.)

Scoring:

For each correct answer, you earn one point. And if the guessing team is a Know-It-All and answers all the questions correctly, they get bonus points. They receive two extra points for being a Know-It-All!

Once the teams have determined their scores, they move their Pawns ahead the same number of spaces on the Game Tray.

Final Question Space:

Lastly, there is a special space called the Final Question Space.

During the game, it’s not necessary for the team to land on the Final Question Space with an exact number. However, once they reach that space, they must stop there. On the team’s next turn, instead of answering individually in a specific order, everyone can participate in answering the questions on a blue Cold Sweat card. It’s important to note that if a wrong answer is given, the round is over and the other team takes their turn.

To end the game, the team must successfully identify all the answers on a blue Cold Sweat card while on the Final Question Space. If they accomplish this, they move ahead to the Winner Space and become Know-It-Alls! Let me show you an example of how the game is played.
