How to Make a Snake

Each end of a snake mid-section has a different color. The head and tail cards have just one color. To make a snake, match a color on one card with a color on another card.

The cards can be placed in different angles as long as the colors match. A complete snake has a head, at least one mid-section (but the more, the better), and a tail.

Getting Ready

First, let’s prepare for the game. Take all the snake cards and mix them up. Then, place the stack of cards face down on the table and spread them out in a fan shape. Now, choose one card from the fan and turn it face up. This card will be the starter card.

Time to Start

The youngest player goes first. Pick any card from the fan and turn it face up. Look at the colors on the card. Do any of the colors on this card match the colors on the starter card?

If there’s a match, place the new card next to the starter card, with the matching colors touching. Watch as the snake starts to form! But if the colors don’t match, place the card face up on the table to start a new snake.
