The number of fish on a tile tells you how valuable it is. Some tiles have one fish, others have two, and the most coveted ones hold three fish.
Now, here comes the fun part. Each player starts with a bunch of penguins. The penguins are color-coded, so no mix-ups there! On your turn, you can move one of your penguins in a straight line, from one tile to another. But there’s a catch – once a penguin moves, it can’t stop until it reaches the next tile’s edge. It’s like they’re sliding on ice. These penguins are quite the agile bunch!
Here’s the deal. When you move a penguin, you have to take that tile off the board and keep it. That means one less fish for your opponents to grab! So, make your moves strategically to cut off your opponents, leaving their penguins stranded on small chunks of ice with no fish left.

Your job is to get your penguins racing across the shrinking ice floe, snatching up the tastiest fish and blocking off those sneaky competitors. But hey, you better stay on your toes! If one of your penguins gets stuck, it’s game over for them.

What’s the Goal?
The goal of Hey, That’s My Fish! is for 2-4 players to move their penguins around the ice floe, collecting fish. The player with the most fish at the end of the game is the winner. So, get out there and claim those fishy prizes!
What’s in the Box?
When you open the box, you’ll find five components inside:
- 30 tiles with one fish
- 20 tiles with two fish
- 10 tiles with three fish
- 16 plastic penguins (four in each color)
- A rulebook to guide you
About the Ice Floe Tiles
Now let me tell you about the 60 hexagonal tiles, also known as ice floe tiles, that come with this game. Each tile shows an ice floe on one side, with one to three fish hanging out. On the other side, you’ll find an empty water surface. These tiles form the foundation of your Arctic adventure.

Hey there! Let me tell you about this cool game called Plastic Penguins. It’s all about collecting fish with your penguin figures. How awesome is that?
Let’s Get Started!
First, We Need to Set Up the Game Board.
Now, It’s Time to Choose Our Penguins.
- If There Are 2 Players: each of us will use 4 Penguins.
- If There Are 3 Players: each of us will use 3 Penguins.
- If There Are 4 Players: each of us will use 2 Penguins.
Next, Let’s Place Our Penguins on the Board.

Game Play
When we play the game, we take turns starting with the youngest player and going clockwise.
Each turn has two parts:
- Move One Penguin
- Collect Ice Floe Tile
Move One Penguin
During this part, we can move one of our penguins as far as we like in a straight line.
Our penguin can move in any of the six directions of the hexagon, but once we start moving, we can’t change direction.
We can only move our penguin to an empty ice floe. It can’t move onto a floe that another penguin is on, even if it’s our own penguin. It also can’t move to spaces without ice floes.

So, here’s the thing: I take the tile the little penguin jumped off of and put it in my little stash. Can’t forget to flip it face up though!
Gathering Ice Tiles
When it’s my turn, I get to pick an ice floe tile. And as soon as I do, it’s your turn to play.
You’ve got to move one of your penguins each turn. If you can’t move any of them, that means your penguins have collected all the fish they can and you’re done taking turns. That’s when you take your penguins off the game board and add the ice floes they were on to your collection.
We keep going like this until nobody’s penguins can move anymore and all the penguins have been taken off the game board. Any ice floes that haven’t been collected go back in the box.
The end of the game
After we’ve taken all the penguins off the game board, we add up the fish on the ice floes we collected.
The player with the most fish wins the game. If two players have the same amount of fish, the one with the most collected ice floes wins.
If we’re still tied after that, we both win!
