To do this, you’ll take turns asking yes-or-no questions. For example, you might ask, “Does your character have glasses?” or “Is your character a man?” Based on the answers you receive, you can eliminate characters from your board.

The key here is to think strategically. As you ask questions, try to identify the traits that differentiate one character from another. This will help you narrow down the possibilities and eventually make an accurate guess.

But be careful! Your opponent is doing the same thing. They’re also asking questions and narrowing down the options, hoping to guess your character first. So, stay on your toes and don’t reveal too much with your answers.

Once you think you’ve figured out who your opponent’s mystery person is, you make your guess. If you’re correct, you win the game! If not, it’s back to the drawing board. Remember, the first person to guess the other player’s character correctly is the winner.

Today, I want to talk to you about a really fun game called Guess Who? It’s a game where you have to use your detective skills to figure out who is on your opponent’s Mystery Card. And the best part is, while you try to solve the puzzle, your opponent is also trying to figure out who is on your card! It’s a thrilling race against time to see who can crack the case first.

Getting Started

Before we can dive into the game, we need to set it up. Each player picks a Mystery Card in secret – this will be the person that the other player has to guess. It’s like having your very own secret identity! Once both players have chosen their Mystery Cards, the game begins.

How to Play

Now that we’re all set up, let me explain how the game works. The objective is simple: you need to guess who is on your opponent’s Mystery Card before they can guess who is on yours. To do this, you take turns asking targeted questions about the appearance of the people on the Mystery Cards.

For example, you might ask, “Does your person have glasses?” or “Is your person wearing a hat?”. The key is to ask questions that will help you eliminate as many people as possible. With each question, you can cross off the people who don’t fit the description, narrowing down the possibilities. It’s like you’re narrowing down a list of suspects.

But be careful, because your opponent is doing the same thing! While you’re trying to crack their case, they’re trying to crack yours. It’s a real race to see who can piece together the clues and identify the Mystery Card first. Talk about suspense!

The Thrill of Victory (or Defeat!)

When someone thinks they know who is on their opponent’s Mystery Card, they can make a guess. If they’re right, they win the game! But if they’re wrong, well, it’s back to the drawing board. The game continues until one player successfully guesses the identity of their opponent’s Mystery Card.

Guess Who? is a game that mixes deduction, strategy, and a good dose of suspense. So, if you’re up for a challenge and love solving mysteries, then you’ll absolutely adore this game. It’s like being a real detective, right at your kitchen table!

So, what are you waiting for? Gather your friends or family, set up the game, and see who can outsmart their opponent in the thrilling game of Guess Who?

1. Start by putting the red Face Cards into the red tray (see Figure 2). The blue cards are already in there. Make sure you can see all the faces and names.
2. Choose a tray and sit across from your opponent.
3. Take the deck of Mystery Cards and shuffle it. Then secretly pick a card and put it (facing you) into the front slot of your tray. Make sure your opponent can’t see which card you picked (see Figure 3). Now it’s your opponent’s turn to do the same.
4. Put the remaining Mystery Cards face-down on the side, out of play.

Before you start playing for the first time, take a look at the differences between the faces in your tray: the noses, hats, glasses, hair, beards, moustaches, and other details are different on each face.

Let’s Play the Game!

We’ll take turns asking each other questions. I’ll start since I’m the youngest.

When it’s your turn, ask a question that can be answered with a simple “yes” or “no”.

For example: “Does your Mystery Person have blue eyes?”

• If the answer is “yes”, you can eliminate all the people with brown eyes from your tray.
• If the answer is “no”, you can eliminate all the people with blue eyes.

To eliminate a face, just push the Face Card all the way down so you can only see the name at the top.

Let’s keep asking questions and eliminating faces until one of us thinks they know who is on the opponent’s Mystery Card.

Time to Make a Guess!

When it’s your turn to make a guess about who is on the Mystery Card, go ahead and make your guess instead of asking a question. Remember, you can’t ask a question and make a guess in the same turn.

• If your guess is wrong, you lose the game!
• If your guess is right, you win the game!

The Game Ends

If you guess who is on your opponent’s Mystery Card before they guess who is on yours, you win!

Playing Again

• Put the Mystery Cards back in the deck and shuffle them. Each player draws a new card.
• Press down any remaining Face Cards.
• Flip your tray over.

The Mystery Challenge

Ready for a brain teaser? Let’s take the game up a notch. In this challenge, we’re going to amp up the intrigue by dealing out two Mystery cards to each player. These cards will be placed side-by-side in the Mystery card slots. Your mission? Figure out who both of your opponent’s Mystery People are!

Now, here’s the catch. When you ask questions about the Mystery People, you have to use the words “both” or “either”. For instance, you might ask, “Do both of your people wear glasses?” or “Does either of your people have black hair?” Keep in mind that every move counts, so be cautious when eliminating gameboard faces, and don’t forget the questions you’ve already asked!

Let’s say you ask: “Does either of your people have a beard?” Your opponent responds with a “Yes”. But here’s the twist – you can’t just flip down any faces because while one Mystery Person definitely has a beard, the other one might not!

To win this challenge, you must correctly guess the identities of both Mystery People on the same turn. Think you’re up for it?
