Let’s Learn the Rules of the Guacamole Game!
Hey there! I’m excited to explain the rules of the Guacamole game to you. Trust me, it’s going to be a blast!
First, let’s talk about the objective. The goal of the Guacamole game is to collect as many avocados as possible. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? There are six avocado cards in this game, and you want to grab as many of them as you can.
Here’s how the game works. The deck of cards is shuffled, and each player is dealt a hand of cards. You’ll take turns playing cards from your hand to the center of the table. The cards have different numbers on them, ranging from 1 to 10. The player who plays the highest number card gets to collect all the avocado cards on the table!
But wait, there’s a twist! There are some special action cards in the deck that can change the game. For example, the “Guac Smash” card allows you to steal an avocado card from another player. How sneaky!
You’ll also come across the “Spicy Dip” cards. When you play this card, all the players have to put one of their avocado cards back in the center. It keeps things spicy, doesn’t it?
At the end of the game, when all the cards have been played, it’s time to count up your avocados. Remember, each avocado card is worth one point. The player with the most avocado cards wins!
So, are you ready to dive into the Guacamole game? Grab some friends, shuffle the cards, and let the avocado collecting begin! Enjoy the delicious fun!

Want to win the game? It’s simple! Just be the first player to gather 3 Recipe Discs: 1 Mild, 1 Medium, and 1 Spicy. To get a Recipe Disc, all you have to do is be the first player to have 5 Ingredient Cards that match the Recipe Disc you want.
But here’s the catch: you need to make sure you have the right amount of Avocados, Tomatoes, and Chilies in your recipe. If you have too few or too many of any ingredient, sorry, but you won’t win that Recipe Disc.

Preparing to Cook
Alright, let’s get started with the setup. First, take the Recipe Discs and divide them into three piles: Mild, Medium, and Spicy. Make sure they’re facedown in the center of the table where everyone can see them.
Now, let me tell you about the Ingredient Cards. We have 4 Avocados, 3 Tomatoes, and 4 Chilies. Shuffle them up and deal 5 cards to each player. Oh, and don’t forget to place the Ingredient deck nearby and flip over the top card – that’s your discard pile!
Here’s a little twist: if any player happens to receive a Special Card like Lime, Cilantro, or Onion, shuffle it back into the deck and draw a replacement. Now, everyone should place their 5 Ingredient Cards face up in front of them. Lastly, reveal the top Recipe Disc of each type and let the cooking begin!
How to Play the Game
Alright, let’s get this game started! The first thing you need to do is choose who goes first. Maybe the player who recently had some delicious guacamole can take the lead.
Now, the player in charge has two options. If the card on top of the discard pile could be useful, they can take it and replace one of their face-up Ingredient Cards. The old card goes in the discard pile.
But what if that discard card doesn’t help the player match any Recipe Disc? Well, they can simply take the top card from the Ingredient deck. Now they have a choice: use it like I mentioned before or just discard it without messing up the rest of their hand.
After that, the game keeps going, with the next player taking their turn. Easy, right?
Oh, I almost forgot! When the Ingredient deck runs out, everything stops. Don’t worry, though. Just leave the top card of the discard pile and give the rest a big shuffle to create a new Ingredient deck. Then you can get back to the game!

When a special card gets drawn
Special Cards like Lime, Cilantro, and Onion are a little different from the regular ones. When you get a special card, you don’t add it to your hand like you do with the others. Instead, you have to throw it away right away. But, getting rid of these special cards isn’t just a wasted move. In fact, it can have some pretty interesting effects!

In this card game, called “Fresh Flavors,” there are three special cards: Lime, Cilantro, and Onion. Let me explain how each one works:
- Lime: When playing with the Lime card, everyone chooses a card from their hand and passes it to the player on their left. But here’s the twist: you don’t get to see the new card you receive until you’ve already chosen and passed one from your own hand.
- Cilantro: Similar to the Lime card, with Cilantro, players pass their card to the right instead of the left.
- Onion: Don’t worry, no tears here! With the Onion card, all players pass their 5 Ingredient Cards to the player on their left, while keeping any Recipe Discs they may have already won.
The Game’s Conclusion

When you have the right mix of Avocados, Tomatoes, and Chilies, you shout “Guacamole!” and grab the matching Recipe Disc.
Then, you must get rid of your current Ingredient Cards and draw 5 new ones. If you draw a Special Card, just put it back in the deck and draw again. The other players keep their Ingredient Cards, and a new Recipe Disc is revealed.
The game keeps going until one player has collected all 3 types of Recipes – Mild, Medium, and Spicy.
Note: You can collect extra Recipe Discs (like 2 Milds). It won’t help you win, but it might stop your opponents.
For an Easier Game
If you’re younger, it might be easier for you to just have 1 Recipe Disc available. The first person to get 3 Recipe Discs (of any type) wins.
