Dungeon Drop Solo Spelunker Rules
Hey there! Welcome to the solo spelunker rules for Dungeon Drop! It’s time for a daring adventure through the depths of the dungeon, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
Objective
So, what’s the objective of Dungeon Drop? Simple – navigate through the dungeon, collect treasure, and defeat monsters in your quest to become a legendary hero. The dungeon is teeming with danger and mystery, but fear not! I’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to emerge victorious.
Game Setup
Okay, let’s get started with the game setup. It’s pretty straightforward, I promise. First, gather all the game components and make sure you have everything you need. Then, lay out the dungeon tiles and create a grid. Next, shuffle the treasure and monster cards and place them face-down in their respective decks. Finally, draw your starting hand and you’re all set to begin your adventure!
Gameplay
Now, let’s dive into the gameplay. On your turn, you have three actions at your disposal – explore, grab, and drop. These actions allow you to navigate the dungeon, grab treasure, and strategically drop items to defeat monsters. It’s all about planning your moves and making the most out of your turn.
To explore, simply choose a token from your hand and place it in any empty space in the dungeon. This will reveal the tiles underneath and potentially uncover valuable loot or dangerous foes. Be careful though, as some monsters can be pretty tough to handle!
Once you’ve explored, you can grab any adjacent treasures or defeat any adjacent monsters by dropping your token onto them. Each treasure or monster has a specific requirement, so make sure you meet it to claim your reward or defeat the enemy.
Now, here’s a pro tip – you can strategically stack multiple tokens on top of each other to gain better rewards or defeat multiple monsters at once. It’s a risk-reward situation, but it can definitely pay off!
Winning the Game
Alright, let’s talk about winning the game. To win, you must collect a certain number of treasures and defeat a certain number of monsters. Meet these requirements and emerge as the ultimate hero of the dungeon! But be careful, if your health drops to zero, it’s game over.
Final Thoughts
So there you have it – the solo spelunker rules for Dungeon Drop. It’s a thrilling adventure that will test your strategy and bravery. Are you up for the challenge? Grab your gear, dive into the dungeon, and emerge as the hero you were destined to be!

Get ready to explore the depths of the dungeon as you embark on an endless quest to find fragments of a powerful relic. Your mission is to collect enough fragments to save your village, the kingdom, and maybe even the entire world!
Here are some changes to the setup:
– First, you will receive your Hero, who will become your main character in this adventure.
– Next, you will receive your Quest, which will guide you through the challenges ahead.
– Then, it’s time to drop into the Dungeon and get started!
– Finally, there are some additional details to keep in mind as you begin your journey.
Now, it’s time to enter the Dungeon:
When the game begins, your Hero will enter the Dungeon. Your Hero will start in a room that you create. Make sure to place your Hero meeple in that room. You’ll also need to replace the room’s 3 Pillar cubes with Pillar tokens. Remember, the tokens are not the same as cubes and should not be intentionally flicked, moved, or re-dropped, unless the rules specifically allow it.
Once your Hero has entered the room, you can start looting. Explore the room and see what treasures await you!
Note: Just like Pillars, you don’t collect the Staircase cube. But unlike Pillars, you actually get to collect Relic cubes as regular Treasure.
Game Play
Explore
First, I need to draw four cubes from the box. But here’s the catch – I have to do it without looking at them. I take these four cubes and drop them into the Dungeon, somewhere over my current room. Oh, and watch out for those Pillar tokens! If any cubes land on top of them, they need to be re-dropped.
Note: If any new cubes end up inside my current room, I don’t automatically collect them. It’s like they’re just teasing me!
Act
Move
Loot
I continue repeating the steps outlined above until one of the following things happen:
- If there are no more cubes in the box left for me to Explore, it means I’ve become completely lost in the Dungeon and lose the game! How disappointing!
- If I find myself unable to move to a new room without my Hero getting killed, it means I’ve been consumed by the Dungeon and lose the game! This place is dangerous.
- If I Loot a room and happen to find the Staircase, I get the chance to exit the level. Woohoo! (Refer to the “Exit the Level” section for more details).
Exiting the Level
When I find the Staircase in a room, I have the option to exit the level. Here’s what you need to know about how to do it.
Completing the Level
For now, let’s put any Relic pieces I’ve collected aside. First, I need to calculate my score based on the normal game rules, including my Quest. Then, I need to check if my score meets the level’s score requirement:
| 0 Relic pieces recovered | 15 + your Hero’s total Health |
| +1 -2 Relic pieces recovered | 20 + your Hero’s total Health |
| 3-4 Relic pieces recovered | 25 + your Hero’s total Health |
| 5-6 Relic pieces recovered | 30 + your Hero’s total Health |
| 7-8 Relic pieces recovered | 35 + your Hero’s total Health |
If you manage to achieve or exceed the required score for the level, congratulations! You have successfully completed the level and can move on to the next one. This is what you need to do:
Level Completed Successfully:
You did it! You successfully completed the Dungeon level. Here’s what you should do next:
- Track Your Relics: For every Relic piece you collected, move the Relic tracker token up 1 space on the score tracker card.
Level up: If you collected any Relic pieces (no matter how many you collected), you get to draw an extra Class card and add it to your Hero. If you encountered a Huge monster (regardless of whether you found any Relic pieces), you also get to draw an extra Class card and add it to your Hero. These added Class cards give you more choices for abilities as you continue through the Dungeon. Just remember, you can only use each Race or Class ability once per level, and you can only use one ability per turn.
Now it’s time to decide whether you want to keep going deeper into the Dungeon or retire.
If you choose to delve deeper, you’re showing incredible bravery! Here’s what you should do:
1. Refresh Abilities: Flip over all your Race and Class cards so they’re ready to be used again.
Welcome to this exciting adventure! I’ll be your guide, showing you the path to triumph. Let’s dive right into it!
First things first, let’s talk about Quests. They’re like missions that test your skills and bravery. But hey, if you’re not feeling up for it, no worries! You can always swap your current Quest for a new one. Flexibility is key!
Dungeons are where the action happens. Picture a dark, mysterious cave filled with traps and scary creatures. Your goal is to conquer each level of the Dungeon, one by one. But sometimes, you gotta hit the reset button and start fresh. That means clearing out all the monsters and other obstacles, and venturing into a new Dungeon. Exciting, right?
Now let’s talk about retirement. After a long and epic career, it’s time for a well-deserved break. But before you sail off into the sunset, take a moment to think about your legacy. How will history remember you? It’s a question worth pondering.
So, are you ready for this thrilling adventure? Let’s go conquer those Dungeons and make your mark on history!
| Relic Tracker’s Final Level | |
| 1-3 Relic pieces recovered | You didn’t save squat! |
| 4-5 Relic pieces recovered | Good job, you saved your village from the forces of darkness. |
| 6-8 Relic pieces recovered | You saved the kingdom – your name will be remembered for decades! |
| 9 Relic pieces recovered | You have become a legend. You saved the entire world, and your entire family lineage will enjoy a prosperous future! |
Solo Spelunker Deluxe
When it comes to the final level in Relic Tracker, your accomplishments are crucial. Let me break it down for you:
– First, if you only managed to recover 1-3 Relic pieces, I’m sorry, but the reality is you didn’t save squat!
– However, if you were able to recover 4-5 Relic pieces, well done! You deserve praise for saving your village from the forces of darkness.
– Now, if you went above and beyond by finding 6-8 Relic pieces, congratulations are in order! You saved the entire kingdom, and your name will be remembered for decades to come.
– And finally, if you were able to recover all 9 Relic pieces, then you, my friend, have become a legend. Not only did you save the entire world, but your entire family lineage will enjoy a prosperous future because of your heroic deeds.
But that’s not all! Let me introduce you to the thrilling world of Solo Spelunker Deluxe. Get ready for an adventure like no other!

If you have the Kickstarter Deluxe version of the game with the various optional modules that were made available, you can make the Solo Spelunker game mode even more exciting. Here’s how:
- If you haven’t recovered any Relic pieces: Drop a regular dungeon with the normal rules for the Shiny Purple cubes.
- If you have recovered 1 Relic piece: Add the Skeleton Skulls module to all Dungeon levels from now on. Whenever new Skeletons appear, they must be placed somewhere over the current room.
- If you have recovered 2 Relic pieces: Use the Deluxe version of the Shiny Purple cubes. At the start of each level, roll a die to determine the effect of the cubes from this point forward.
- If you have recovered 4 Relic pieces: Add the Gelatinous Cubes module to all Dungeon levels from now on.
When I found six pieces of the Relic, something amazing happened – an extra Dragon cube appeared in the Dungeon! This new cube unlocked even more excitement and challenges for me to explore.
But that’s not all. If you’re feeling extra brave, there are other ways to make your adventure in the Dungeon even more intense. You can add a second set of Skeleton Skulls if you happen to have them. And if you miss those mischievous goblins, you can bring them back into the mix. You can also increase the number of goblins, trolls, or dragons by using the upgraded versions you have.
If you’re up for a rescue mission, you can try out the Hero Rescue option. In this mode, you get to save a Hero from certain doom and keep using them throughout the rest of the game. It’s a thrilling opportunity to showcase your heroic skills and turn the tides of the game.
So, don’t be afraid to experiment and try these optional additions. They’ll elevate your dungeon-crawling experience to new heights and keep you on your toes. Get ready to dive in and unleash your inner hero!
