Divinare Game Rules

Welcome to Divinare, a fun and challenging game that will test your prediction skills. In Divinare, you will need to use your intuition and logical thinking to guess the outcome of a dice roll. Here are the game rules to get you started:

Set Up

To play Divinare, you will need a standard 6-sided dice, a piece of paper, and a pen or pencil. Start by drawing a table with two columns on your paper. Label the first column “Guess” and the second column “Result.”

Gameplay

1. Begin by making your first guess. Write your guess in the “Guess” column of your table.

2. Roll the dice. Look at the number that comes up and write it in the “Result” column of your table.

3. Compare your guess with the actual result. Did you predict the correct outcome?

4. Take a moment to reflect on the outcome. What factors influenced your guess? Did you go with your gut feeling or analyze the situation?

5. Repeat the process for as many rounds as you like. Try to improve your prediction skills with each guess.

Scoring

In Divinare, the goal is to predict the outcome of the dice roll correctly. For each correct prediction, give yourself one point. Keep track of your score as you play.

Tips for Success

To become a master at Divinare, here are some tips to keep in mind:

1. Trust your instincts. Sometimes your gut feeling can guide you to the right answer.

2. Analyze the patterns. Look for any trends or patterns in the dice rolls that might help you make more accurate predictions.

3. Practice makes perfect. The more you play Divinare, the better you will become at predicting the outcome.

4. Have fun! Remember that Divinare is a game, so enjoy the process of making predictions and challenging yourself.

Now that you know the rules, it’s time to start playing Divinare. Good luck and may your predictions be spot on!

So here’s the deal – you and me, we’re gonna play a game. It’s called The Mediums. In this game, you pretend to be a mind reader trying to figure out what cards your opponent has. But here’s the catch – the cards are revealed bit by bit, so you can make better guesses as you go along.

The better your guesses, the more points you earn. And guess what? The player with the most points at the end of 4 rounds wins!

Getting Started

  • First, put the boards in the middle of the play area.
  • Then, each of us takes a character card and the 4 matching prediction tokens.
  • Be sure to have the score tokens close by.
  • The oldest player gets the 4-player action card and becomes the first player. Now we can start the game!

How to Play

We’ll play the game over 4 rounds. After each round, pass the action card clockwise so the next player will be the first player in the next round.

Throughout the game, each of us will be the first player once.

Preparing for a Round

Now, we each put one of our prediction tokens on the central space of each board. Then, shuffle all the cards and deal 6 cards to everyone.

Note: Keep the 12 remaining cards aside, face-down. We don’t want anyone to know what they are.

Whenever we begin a new round, we go back to the beginning. This means that all the cards, including the ones we used in the previous round and the ones we set aside, are mixed up again.

How the Turns Work

It’s my turn to go first. After that, we’ll take turns going in a circle, one after another. When it’s your turn, you have two things you need to do:

1. Play a Card

Pick a card from your hand and put it next to the matching board. Don’t forget to stack the cards on top of each other, so everyone can always see how many cards have been played.

Step 2: Move Your Prediction Token

Alright, now it’s time to move your prediction token on the board that matches the card you just played. You have to make a move, even if you’d rather keep it where it is.

You can place your token in any empty space on the corresponding board. And if you want, you can put it back in the central space on that board, where there may already be other tokens.

But don’t just make a random move. Try to figure out how many cards from that board will be played in this round. To help you, remember that there are 36 cards in total:

  • There are 6 red chiromancy cards.
  • You’ll find 8 blue crystallomancy cards.
  • There are 10 green tasseomancy cards.
  • And there are 12 yellow astromancy cards.

Just remember, out of these 36 cards, only 24 will actually be played in this round. So choose wisely!

Remember: Each turn, I have to play a card and move my prediction token to an empty space!

Action Card

The action card shows the special things that will happen during each round. I need to make sure to take care of these events before we continue playing normally.

At the beginning of the round, when all of us have 6 cards, we each have to choose 3 cards from our hands and pass them to the person on our right. We can’t look at the cards that the person on our left gives us. This way, we know 9 out of the 24 cards that will be played, and it should help us make better guesses.

  • When each of us has 4 cards, we all have to give away 2 of them.
  • When each of us has 2 cards, we all have to give away 1 card.

Listen up: When you pass or receive cards, it’s not just about learning what cards will be played. It can also help you get rid of a card you don’t want to play, so you don’t have to move your prediction token.

Scoring

When we’ve each played all of our cards, the round comes to an end. At this point, we can determine how many cards are next to each board. We’ll score each board separately to determine who performed the best as a medium this round. Place any score tokens you earn face-down in front of you.

On each board, there is a space that represents the correct number of cards played next to it. This is called the “perfect prediction.” If your prediction token is on the perfect prediction space, you’ll receive a blue score token worth 3 points.

There are also two spaces next to the perfect prediction known as the “incomplete predictions.” If your prediction token is on one of these spaces, you’ll receive a yellow score token worth 1 point.

When it comes to playing this game, I always aim to make accurate predictions. The central space is the only place that is considered a correct prediction, while all the other spaces are considered incorrect predictions. If my prediction token lands on an incorrect prediction, I am penalized with a red score token, which results in a point deduction of -1. So, I try my best to minimize the number of red tokens I receive.

However, if my prediction token lands on the central space, I don’t receive any score token, whether it’s for a perfect, incomplete, or incorrect prediction. It’s like a safe zone where I don’t have to worry about penalties.

In some rare cases, there might not be a numbered space on the board that matches the number of cards played. In such situations, none of the players receive any score tokens for that particular board. It’s a bit of a setback, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

Bonus Spaces

In addition to the regular spaces, the prediction boards also have bonus spaces. These bonus spaces can be either single ones, represented by a circle outline, or double ones, shown as filled circles. If my prediction token lands on a bonus space, I get the chance to receive 1 or 2 extra score tokens. It’s like a little bonus that can give me an advantage in the game.

If I make a perfect or incomplete prediction and land on a bonus space, I get an extra yellow score token. If it’s a double bonus space, I get two yellow tokens. Pretty sweet, right?

But, if I make an incorrect prediction and end up on a bonus space, I have to take a penalty. A single bonus space means I get one red score token. If it’s a double bonus space, I get two red tokens. Ouch! Gotta be careful there!

Now, if we start running out of yellow or red score tokens, we can balance things out. We can return one yellow and one red token back to the stock. It’s like hitting the reset button!

Okay, on to the next round!

If the game isn’t done yet, we pass the action card to the next player in line. That means the first player changes. And then we kick off the next round, ready for a whole new set of excitement!

Finally, the end!

When we’ve played all four rounds, it’s time to tally up the points. Each player flips over their score tokens and adds them all together. Whoever has the most points wins! So, get ready to play and show off your prediction skills!

When you play this game, the person who has the highest number of points is the one who wins.

Instructions for 3 players

All you need to do is use the 3-player action card. The game will have 3 rounds that you’ll play.
