- If the players guess the character correctly before time runs out, they get a point. If they can’t guess it, no point is awarded.

What’s the Goal?
The goal of the game is to be the team in the lead on the game board after 3 rounds of play. You can collect cards during a round by guessing the names of the characters on them.
These cards are worth game board spaces at the end of each round.
How Do You Set Up the Game?
- First, divide players evenly into 2 teams.
- Each team selects a Mickey Mouse feet mover and places it on the game board START space.
- Choose 12 Charades cards for the game. You can pick Easy cards, General cards, or mix it up. Make sure to choose cards that match your family’s movie preferences! (I suggest starting with 12 Easy cards for your first game).
Easy cards: These yellow-bordered cards feature characters that younger players will easily recognize. The younger the players, the more Easy cards you can use. (If you want an extra easy game, you can play with as few as 6 cards). General cards: These blue-bordered cards showcase characters that may not be as well-known to younger players. If you want to make the game more challenging, include more General cards.

- First things first, gather your 12 chosen cards and give them a good shuffle. Once they’re all mixed up, load them into the back of the Clapboard timer/card dispenser. Make sure all the cards are faceup, with the Character Name in the left corner. This will make it easier to keep track of everything.
- Now, it’s time to determine who goes first. The team with the youngest player gets the honor of taking the first turn. So, if you’re the lucky youngest player, congratulations! You’re up!

How to Play the Game
Playing the game is simple and fun! Each game consists of 3 rounds, and in each round, you and your team will take turns guessing the names of different Disney characters. The goal is to guess all 12 character names before the round ends.
When it’s your team’s turn, you will need to choose one player to be the Clue Giver. The Clue Giver’s job is to give hints and clues to their teammates so that they can guess the Disney characters on the cards. It’s a crucial role, so choose wisely! You might want to let the youngest player on your team be the Clue Giver in the first round, just to get things started.
If you’re the lucky one chosen to be the Clue Giver, here’s what you need to do on your team’s turn:
Start the timer with the Clapboard.
Hey there! Let’s have some fun with the Clapboard timer! I’ll guide you through the game. Just press down on the timer arm, and the 30-second countdown will start. As time ticks away, a card will pop out from the side, revealing a clue for you to guess.
Take a look at the card and give some clues.
Hey, take a quick look at the name on the card. That’s the name you need to help your teammates guess! The rules for giving clues change with each round, so pay attention to the Clue-Giving Rules box on this page. You can give as many clues as you want, in any order, and your teammates can shout out their guesses. Once someone guesses correctly, put the card faceup in front of you. Then, press down on the Clapboard arm to start the timer for the next card. Keep going until Mickey Mouse says, “Times up!” When time is up, put any unguessed cards back in the Clapboard timer/card dispenser and keep the guessed cards in front of you.
Move forward on the game board.
- In Round 1: Move one space for each card.
In Round 1, I have the ability to move one space for each card I use. Moving around the game board is pretty straightforward. Once I reach the last space, I can simply loop around back to the first space if I have more spaces to move. It’s like a continuous loop!
After I finish my turn, it’s time for the next team to take their turn. This keeps the game moving and ensures everyone gets a chance to play.
Now let’s talk about the clue-giving rules for each round.
In Round 1, I can say anything I want (except the character’s actual name or any word that sounds like it) to get my teammates to guess the character’s name. I can talk about the movie the character was in or even mention their friends. The goal is to give them enough hints without actually acting anything out.
In Round 2, things get a little trickier. For each card I use, I have to move two spaces on the game board. I still can’t say the character’s name or any word that sounds like it, but now I can only give one clue to my teammates. This makes it more challenging, but also more exciting!

Guessing games can be a lot of fun, especially when you’re trying to figure out the name of a character from a famous movie. In this game, you have to give clues using only one word or a short phrase. For example, if the card shows a picture of Bambi, you could say “deer”, “fawn”, or “fire”.
Round 3 Clues: Silent Acting!
In this round, you can only act out the character’s name without saying anything. For instance, if the card shows Snow White, you could point to something white or hold up 7 fingers to represent the dwarfs.
Note: If there’s a dispute about the clues given, the majority’s decision will be the final one.
End of the Round
Each team takes turns guessing until all 12 cards have been figured out. This signals the end of the round.
Starting a New Round
In each round, use the same 12 cards. Shuffle them and place them face up in the timer/card dispenser called the Clapboard. The team that’s behind in points goes first in the new round.
