Objective:

The objective of the game is to explore the deep sea, collect treasures, and make it back to the surface without running out of oxygen. Are you up for the challenge?

Game Components:

The game includes a game board, oxygen markers, treasure tokens, and player pieces. Each player will have their own mini submarine piece. You’ll use these to navigate through the game and gather treasures.

Starting the Game:

To begin, each player will receive an oxygen marker. Place it on the starting space. This will represent your oxygen level throughout the game. Make sure your submarine is ready to dive!

Gameplay:

The game is played in turns. On your turn, roll the dice and move your submarine that number of spaces. You’ll encounter different spaces as you move – some will have treasures, some will have hazards, and some will have nothing at all. Take your chances and see what you find!

Treasures:

When you land on a treasure space, you can choose to collect a treasure token or continue your journey. Each treasure token is worth points at the end of the game. But be careful – the more treasures you carry, the faster your oxygen will deplete!

Hazards:

Beware of hazardous spaces! If you land on a hazard space, you’ll lose oxygen. The amount lost depends on the hazard. Avoid them if you can, or strategize your moves to minimize the impact.

Oxygen Management:

Keep an eye on your oxygen level! As you collect treasures, your oxygen will decrease. If your oxygen marker reaches zero, you’ll have to start ascending immediately, abandoning any remaining treasures. Plan your moves wisely to ensure you don’t run out of oxygen before reaching the surface!

Game End:

The game ends when the first player reaches the surface with their collected treasures. At this point, all other players will have one final turn to try and make it back to the surface. The player with the most points from collected treasures wins!

Getting Started

Alright, let’s dive in and explore the exciting world of Underwater Adventure! But first, let’s make sure we’re fully prepared.

Step 1: Unboxing

When you open the box, you’ll find a number of components. Here’s what you can expect to see:

• Special Dice: There are two of them, and each side of the dice has 1 to 3 dots.
• Sea Diver Pieces: You’ll find six of these little divers, ready to explore the depths of the ocean.
• Air Marker: This marker is used to keep track of your air supply as you dive.
• Submarine Board: This board represents the underwater world you’ll be exploring.
• Blank Undersea Chips: There are twelve of these chips, waiting to be discovered and filled with exciting treasures.
• Undersea Treasure Chips: You’ll find thirty-two of these chips, each one holding a valuable treasure for you to collect.
• Rulebook: This is your guide to playing the game. Make sure to read it thoroughly before you start.

Step 2: Setting Up

Once you’ve familiarized yourself with all the components, it’s time to set up the game. Here’s how you do it:

1. Place the submarine board in the center of the playing area. This board will serve as your underwater playground.
2. Assign each player a sea diver piece. You can choose your favorite color or decide randomly.
3. Give each player their air marker, which they will use to keep track of their air supply.
4. Take the twelve blank undersea chips and place them face down near the board. These chips represent unexplored areas of the ocean.
5. Shuffle the stack of thirty-two undersea treasure chips and place it face down next to the blank undersea chips. These chips hold the precious treasures waiting to be discovered.

Step 3: Ready, Set, Dive!

Now that everything is set up, it’s time to start diving! refer to the rulebook for a detailed explanation on how to play the game. Remember, the goal is to explore the ocean, collect treasure, and make it back to your submarine before your air runs out. Good luck, and have fun on your Underwater Adventure!

• First, make sure that the Submarine is placed in a spot that everyone can easily see. Then, place the Air Marker on the Submarine Board over the number “25”.
• Next, flip over the Undersea Treasure Chips to hide their values. Separate them into different Levels and mix them up really well.
• Arrange the Treasure Chips in a line according to their Levels, starting with the lowest Level and ending with the highest. They should connect to the Submarine Board. You can arrange them in any way you like as long as they form a continuous line.
• Each player chooses a Sea Diver piece and places it flat on the Submarine Board, with the pointed belly facing downward.
• The player who has most recently been in the ocean or gone swimming will go first.

Let’s Dive into the Game

The game is all about exploring the depths of the sea. We’ll be going on 3 exciting dives, each with its own adventure. To become the ultimate winner, you need to earn the most points throughout these dives.

To score points, you have to collect Undersea Treasure Chips and bring them back to the Submarine. Remember, you can only return to the Submarine once during each dive. The dive will end if all the Divers return or if the air runs out.

Step 1: Take a Deep Breath

First things first. As we begin our dive, we need to keep track of our air supply. You see, we’re carrying some treasure chips with us, and they affect our air levels. So, let’s move the Air Marker on the Submarine Board towards “0” based on the number of treasure chips we have. But remember, the treasure we’ve already collected doesn’t count this time. If our air falls to “0” or below, this dive will be our last. But don’t worry, we’ll finish our turn before we resurface.

Step 2: Decide to Keep Going or Turn Back

Now, it’s decision time! If we’re carrying treasure, we have the option to turn back and head for the Submarine. If you choose to do so, simply turn your Diver Piece to face the Submarine. But here’s the catch: we can only change direction once during each dive. So, think carefully before making your move!

Now that you’ve turned around, you don’t have to worry about this step again during the rest of the dive. But if you roll the dice without choosing a direction, you’ll have to go deeper.

Step 3: Start Swimming (Roll the dice and move)

Roll both dice and make your Diver Piece move in the direction it’s facing. Move along the line of Undersea Chips as many jumps as the number you rolled. If you have any treasure with you, subtract the number of Treasure Chips from your roll before moving.

Note: Sometimes you might not be able to move at all!

If there’s another Diver exploring an Undersea Chip on your way, you can just jump over without counting it. And if your roll takes you past the last Undersea Chip, you should stop there.

Step 4: Searching for Treasure (Pick up or drop treasure)

Now you have three options for what to do:

Here’s what you need to do during the game:

1. First, you do nothing.
2. Next, you pick up the Treasure Chip that your Diver is stopped on and place it in front of you without looking at it. Then, you put a Blank Undersea Chip in its place and put your Diver on top of the Blank Chip, facing the same direction. Congratulations, you’re now carrying this treasure! And the best part? You can carry as many Treasure Chips as you want!
3. If you’re carrying treasure and you stop on a Blank Undersea Chip, you can drop a Treasure Chip of your choice on that spot. Just replace the Blank Chip with the Treasure Chip and put your Diver on top of the new treasure.

End of the Round

When the round ends, it’s time to clean up:

• Players who made it back to the Submarine turn over their Undersea Treasure Chips and reveal their values. Keep these Chips because you’ll score points for them at the end of the game.

When I’m diving underwater, things can get a bit tricky. If I don’t make it back to the submarine in time, I have to drop my treasure to the bottom of the sea and swim back. It’s a bummer, but I know I have to play by the rules.

You see, the other divers have a chance to stack their treasure chips next to the last chip in the line. They can choose the order in which they stack them. Once three chips have been stacked, they start a new stack at the end of the line. These stacks are important because they act as a single treasure chip in future dives. When I pick up and drop the chips, I have to do it all at once.

After that, we clear out any empty spaces in the line of undersea chips. We want everything to be neat and tidy before diving in again.

Now, the last person to make it back to the submarine gets to take the first turn in the next dive. It’s their chance to show off their skills and find even more treasure.

Diving can be challenging, but it’s also a lot of fun. Just remember these rules, and you’ll be diving like a pro in no time!

The Game Ends

When the third dive is complete and all the mess has been tidied up, it’s time to determine the winner. This is done by adding up the points each player has earned, which are based on the value of the Treasure Chips they collected and brought back to the Submarine.

If two or more players have the same number of points, we need to look at the types of Treasure Chips they gathered. The player with the most high-level Treasure Chips will be declared the winner. But, if even this doesn’t settle the tie, then the game will end with both players being crowned as winners.
