I bet you’ve never heard of the Battle of the Sexes game before. Well, let me tell you all about it.

In this game, we find out who knows more about the opposite sex – men or women. Our goal is to answer questions about each other correctly. It’s a fun way to learn more about the things that make us different.

So, how does it work? First, we split up into teams – guys versus gals. Each team gets a set of questions that are designed specifically for the opposite sex. This is where the battle begins!

The questions cover all sorts of topics that are thought to be typical interests and knowledge areas for men and women. But remember, nothing is set in stone – these are just generalizations!

Once the questions are handed out, it’s time to put our knowledge to the test. Each team takes turns answering a question and the opposing team keeps track of the score. It’s a race to see who can answer the most questions correctly.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting – we have a chance to swap a question with the other team. If we think the other team would find our question easier, we can choose to trade. But be careful! They might trade for a question that we know the answer to!

There are also bonus points up for grabs. If we can correctly predict how many questions the opposite team will get right, we can score extra points. So, it’s not just about answering questions correctly, but also about being a good strategist and guessing what the other team will do.

To win the game, our team needs to answer more questions correctly than the other team. It’s all about teamwork and using our knowledge of the opposite sex to come out on top.

Getting Started

First, we’re going to split into two teams: boys vs. girls. Boys, sit on one side of the board, and girls, sit on the other side.
Next, let’s put the male challenge tokens, female challenge tokens, and decision cards on the right spots on the game board. You can see where everything goes in Figure 1.
Now, let’s place one trophy on the purple START space on the board. We’ll save the rest of the trophies for later.
We need to shuffle the female cards and put them back in their box. Do the same with the male cards.

Let’s Start Playing

Hey there, let’s dive into the rules of the game! First up, it’s the Female Team’s turn – ladies first!

During the Female Team’s turn, the Male Team picks a card from the Male Deck and reads the question to the Female Team. When it’s the Male Team’s turn, the Female Team does the same with the Female Deck.
The color space where the Trophy is located determines the color question to be read. But here’s a tip: as the Reader, don’t show the card to your teammates! You don’t want them challenging your answer. And remember, switch up the reader for each new card drawn.
If your team correctly answers the question, you can move the Trophy one space closer to your end of the board. The opposing team then draws a new card and poses a new question to you. After each turn, put the used card at the bottom of the deck.
Now, if your team happens to answer incorrectly, your turn is over. The other team then picks a new card and asks you a new question.

That’s it! Now you know the rules. It’s time to gather your team, grab those decks, and have a blast playing!

Capturing Victories and Finishing a Round

Hey there! Let me break down how you can triumph in this game and wrap up a round. It’s quite simple, really! When my team correctly answers a Green question, we nab that shiny Trophy and proudly display it in our Winner’s Circle. Boom, victory!

I won! That’s the end of the round. Make sure to keep the trophy in your Winner’s Circle to show off your victory.
We need a new trophy for the next round. Put it on the Start Space in the middle.
Now it’s the other team’s turn. Let’s see what they’ve got!

Various Types of Cards

Every card in this game has a unique color scheme that corresponds to a specific type of question. The color of the Trophy on the card determines which type of question you should read.

Facts, Stuff, and Pics Cards

When it’s your turn, make sure to read the question aloud to the opposing team. For the “Pics” cards, show them the Picture side of the card while reading the question.

Our Lives Cards:

Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, isn’t it? One moment, everything seems calm and straightforward, and in the blink of an eye, the world can turn upside down. It’s puzzling and exhilarating all at once – like a roller coaster ride you can’t predict.

When you get the card, look at the question and think about how you would answer it.

Then, choose a Decision Card (A, B, or C) and put it face down on the board, without showing it to anyone.

The other team will try to guess which answer you picked.

Introducing Our Moves Cards:

Hey there! If you picked the card, you get to choose someone from the other team to do the move with you. Ready to have some fun? Let’s get started!

You can do the move together or do it separately, but here’s the catch: no talking allowed! The first team to figure out and shout the name of the move wins.

Want to make things interesting?

If your team doesn’t know the answer to an Our Facts, Our Stuff, Our Pics, or Our Lives question, but you think the other team doesn’t know it either, you can challenge them! Just play one of your Challenge Tokens to throw the question back at them.

Here’s how to use a Challenge Token:

Don’t answer the question!
Let the other team know that you’re using a Challenge Token. Take one of your Challenge Tokens from the board and set it aside.
Now the other team has to answer the question. The player who reads the question can’t help their teammates!
If they answer incorrectly, move the trophy closer to your side of the board. You can keep going with your turn as if you had answered the question right.
If they answer correctly, move the trophy closer to their side of the board. Your turn is over.
You only have three Challenge Tokens to use during the game, so use them wisely!

The Game Ends

The first team to collect three trophies wins the Battle of the Sexes game. Congrats – you’re definitely the Superior Sex!
