Bananagrams Party Game Rules
Bananagrams is a fun and fast-paced word game that is perfect for parties or casual get-togethers. It’s a game where you race against your friends to build crossword puzzles using letter tiles. The rules are simple and easy to follow, making it a great game for players of all ages.
To start, each player takes a set number of letter tiles, depending on the number of players. The goal is to use all of your tiles to create a connected crossword grid. You can rearrange the tiles as much as you like to form new words, as long as they are all connected.
The game begins with one player shouting “Split!” and flipping all of their tiles face up. Every player then starts building their own individual crossword grid in front of them. Once a player has used all of their tiles, they can shout “Peel!” and every other player must take one more tile from the face-down pile.
If a player gets stuck and cannot use any of their tiles, they can shout “Dump!” and exchange one unwanted tile for three new ones from the face-down pile. This allows them to keep playing without being stuck. However, players can only dump tiles a limited number of times, so it’s important to use them wisely.
The game continues until there are fewer tiles in the face-down pile than there are players. At this point, the first player to use all of their tiles and shout “Bananas!” wins the round. All players then check each other’s grids for errors. If there are any, the player with errors is disqualified and the game continues.
Bananagrams is a game that requires quick thinking and a good vocabulary. It’s a game that can be intense and competitive, but also a lot of fun. It’s a great way to test your word skills and challenge your friends in a fast-paced setting.
So, if you’re looking for a fun and exciting word game to play with your friends, give Bananagrams a try. It’s a game that will keep you entertained for hours and leave you wanting more. So gather your friends, split your tiles, and get ready to peel, dump, and shout “Bananas!” It’s time to put your word skills to the test and see who will be the ultimate word champion!

About the Game
Hey there! Let’s dive into this awesome game called “Letter Party.” It’s all about words, letters, and having a blast! So, here’s how it goes…
What You’ll Need
Before we get started, make sure you have these things ready:
- 144 letter tiles
- 14 party tiles
- A storage bag
- Instructions
The Goal
Alright, let’s talk about the goal of this game. It’s pretty simple – be the first one to use up all your letters!
Getting Set Up
First things first, we have these 14 party tiles with cool icons on them. Put them aside for now (we’ll get to them soon). Next, take all 144 letter tiles and place them face down in the center of the table. This stack is called the BUNCH. Got it so far? Good.
Now, each player gets their starting tiles from the BUNCH. The number of starting tiles depends on the number of players in the game. Here’s the breakdown:
| Number Of Players | Starting Tiles |
| 2 to 4 | 21 |
| 5 to 6 | 15 |
| 7 to 8 | 11 |
Alright, now let’s make sure everyone knows what our party tiles do. Hold each one up and explain its special power. But wait, don’t flip them over just yet. Add the party tiles (face down) to the BUNCH and mix everything up real good. Now we’re ready to party!
I recommend trying all of the party tiles, but feel free to use as many or as few as you want.
Let’s Play
- First, someone shouts “SPLIT!” and we all flip over our tiles. Then, we race to arrange them in our own word grid that connects and intersects. We don’t have to take turns – we all play at the same time. You can make words going from left to right or top to bottom. And don’t worry, you can change your grid whenever you want.
- When someone uses up all of their letters, they shout “PEEL!” and we all do the same, including the person who said “PEEL.” We take another tile from the bunch and fit it into our grid.
When you come across a challenging letter, just say “DUMP!” and return it face down to the pool. But remember, you have to take three new tiles in exchange! You can do this as many times as you want, and it won’t affect the other players. However, if there are fewer than three letters left in the pool, you can’t DUMP.
Now, let’s talk about Party Tiles. When you pick a Party Tile from the pool, you have to use it right away. Some tiles have one-time actions, while others last until the end of the game. Once an action is done, put the tile aside and don’t use it again. You can find detailed descriptions of the Party Tiles on the back of the instructions.
Let’s begin by talking about party tiles and the impact they have throughout the game. The way they work is that when you have all but two party tiles, you get to choose another player to take the action. You place the tiles in front of that player and let them know what action they need to take. They must then immediately respond and use the power of the tile. If multiple players happen to draw party tiles at the same time, it’s a race to see who can call it first. The one who calls it first gets to go first and take their turn.

Let’s Play a Spelling Game!
Imagine this: you’re sitting with a group of friends, and someone places a mysterious card in front of you. You eagerly wait for the signal, ready to shout out your answer. But instead of a simple word to figure out, this game takes a twist. Instead of just blurting out the answer, you have to spell it letter by letter. Can you imagine the anticipation, the suspense that builds up as you painstakingly spell out each letter? It’s a fun and exciting challenge that can keep you entertained for hours!
Once the game starts, you’re ready to show off your spelling skills. You patiently say each letter, waiting for your turn to complete the word. The rest of the group watches as you carefully enunciate each letter, hanging on the edge of their seats. It’s a thrilling experience that brings together friends and creates lasting memories.
Playing a spelling game like this can be a refreshing change. Instead of rushing to blurt out the answer, it invites you to take your time and think about each letter. You have to concentrate, listen to your voice, and make sure you don’t skip any letters. It’s a unique challenge that keeps you on your toes and encourages you to pay attention to details.
So, if you’re searching for a new way to have fun and challenge your brain, give this spelling game a try. You’ll be amazed at how much joy and excitement it can bring. So gather your friends, set the stage, and let the spellings begin!

Flamingo
Choose a player and have them balance on one foot for the rest of the game.

An Incredible Advantage
Imagine this: you have a secret weapon that can completely change the game. It’s called the single-handed technique, and it’s a game-changer. With this technique, you can slow your opponent down to a crawl, giving you a distinct advantage.

Hey there!
Guess what? I’ve got something pretty cool to share with you. When you hand over this special tile to someone, they actually have to announce each and every word they put on their grid. Yup, you heard it right!

Pouch Head
Imagine this: you pick a player to wear a banana pouch on their head. And not just for a moment, but for the entire hand. Yes, you heard that right. They will have to strut around with a banana pouch on their noggin, making everyone else crack up. Talk about a head-turner!

No Thumbs
Hey there! Let’s play a fun game called “No Thumbs.” Here’s the deal: pick a player and tell them they can’t use their thumbs for the entire game. It’s going to be challenging, but oh-so-exciting!

The Re-gifter
Hey there! Let me introduce you to a super cool party tile called “The Re-gifter.” It’s got a pretty neat trick up its sleeve. When you come across this tile, you get to do something special!
So, here’s the deal: when you draw “The Re-gifter,” you get to choose three letters. These letters can either come from your own grid or from the spare tiles you have. Once you’ve picked out your three letters, you get to give them to someone else at the party. How awesome is that?
Imagine the look on their face when you surprise them with these special tiles! It’s a one-time thing, so make the most of it.
Have fun with “The Re-gifter” at your next game and keep spreading the joy!

The Sneaky Stealer
Let me tell you about a powerful move that can turn the tide of the game – The Thief! It’s a devious tactic that allows you to snatch away a precious tile from your opponent. Capture a letter that holds their whole grid together, or nab one that you desperately need!
Here’s how it works: you can swipe a single tile from your opponent’s grid or from their pile. And that’s not all! You can also get away with taking their SHIELD or even a BOMB. But beware! If someone pilfers a letter from your grid, you’re obliged to put the pieces back together before you can make your own move.

Timeout
When I pass you this special tile, it’s your turn to take a 10-second break! All you have to do is count, saying out loud, “One banana, two banana…” and keep going up to ten. While you’re taking your timeout, remember that even though you can’t add any new letters to your grid, you can still pick up new letters when other players shout “PEEL!”. It’s like a little pause in the game, but it keeps things interesting!

Switcheroo
Picture this: you’re playing a game of tiles and things are getting intense. Suddenly, you decide to switch things up in a big way. Without making any changes to your tiles, you choose a fellow player and make a bold move – you switch seats with them! But wait, there’s more! It’s not just a simple game of musical chairs; when you switch seats, you also inherit the actions of the new player. Their moves become your moves, and vice versa. It’s a total switcheroo!

Time for a Quick Sprint
Alright, listen up! If I hand you this, it means you gotta sprint around the table, and do it fast! And remember, even if you take a lap, you still gotta grab new tiles if someone shouts “PEEL!”

Mind-blowing Tiles
Hey there! Guess what? There are actually two tiles in this game that are absolutely mind-blowing – they’re called bomb tiles! Are you ready for some fireworks? Well, when you draw just one bomb tile, not much happens. It’s like a dud firecracker – a complete dud. So you simply place it down in front of you and move on.
But wait… the real fun begins when you draw that second bomb tile! When that happens, everything changes in an instant! It’s like an explosion of power – kaboom! You get to unleash chaos and completely destroy another player’s grid. I mean, their whole grid just goes up in smoke! They’ll have to start all over again and rebuild everything from scratch. Can you imagine the shock on their face when they see their hard work crumble before their very eyes? It’s both exhilarating and nerve-wracking because, well, payback is inevitable. Once you set off that bomb, you better be prepared for the consequences!

The Shield
If you have this tile, put it right in front of you. This tile keeps you safe from ALL party tiles, except for the BOMBASTIC tile, and stays active the whole time. But watch out – it’s a small shield, so the THIEF can still snatch it away!
The Game Ends
If there are fewer tiles in the BUNCH than there are players when you add the last letter to your grid, you don’t just say “PEEL” anymore, you shout “BANANAS!”
Now, the other players carefully check your grid. If they find a misspelled word, a name, an abbreviation, or any other word that’s not allowed, they yell “ROTTEN BANANA!” and you’re out of the game.
In the game of Rotten Banana, when a player uses all of their letters and party tiles, they must return them to the face-down BUNCH. The game continues for the rest of the players until the BUNCH is empty again, and someone else says “BANANAS!”
When someone calls out “BANANAS!” and has a valid grid, they become the TOP BANANA and win the game!
Uh-oh, Party Pooper!
If you notice a player breaking a rule or not using a party tile when they should, you can shout out “PARTY POOPER!”
The player who receives the call-out must immediately take two letters from the BUNCH. If only one tile is left, they must take that one. But if there are no tiles left in the BUNCH, lucky them!
